Thanks to you both. Not only is Frieren a therapy session but what you say about the episode is a therapy session.

Lola, I have to ruin your day more. Season 3 will not have 28 episodes, even if it will come out in 5 years. The next season will only have 12 episodes, maybe 13 episodes, if we are lucky. And after that we get a movie and maybe after that we will get 28 episodes again. The story in the manga is structured that way. The only other way would be 18 episodes for Season 3 and no movie, but if the trend with chronological canon arcs adapted into movies continues, Chapter 107-119 would be a perfect movie arc.

Fun Fact: The criminals on the posters at the Norm Company are the guys from episode 1x03 who recommended the cake shop for Frieren, who Lola judged and then felt bad about it :D

And because I was rewatching: What happened to the Frieren shirts and socks? :D

It's ridiculous how much Frieren is a passion project for the animation team. In the manga, the scene in the mine was just a small spell, about as impactful as the spell to make hot tea in Season 1. And Madhouse was like: "Let's just animate galaxies! :D" https://www.reddit.com/r/Frieren/comments/1r4szto/the_anime_turned_2_panels_into_such_a_beautiful/ Also, you’ve probably already heard, but because of the Olympics, we won’t get a Frieren episode this Friday. So we’ll have to wait another week for 2x06. That would be a perfect time to rewatch 1x1, or maybe even the first four episodes.

At the end of the day Frieren’s greatest foe was not the Demon King nor the cruel march of time, but a capitalist

I think it would be more accurate to call it a "mercantilist"
