"Apothecary diaries" and "The fragrant flower blooms with dignity" in the next poll pleaseeeeeeeeee (on my knees)
Rival Consoles - Recovery
If there are gaps between this and Frieren, maybe you can release, rewatch of ep 1-4 during those gaps.
Stepfather Factory by El-P
What's the context for this comment? I love that song
Fine on the Outside by Pricilla Ahn
Joined patreon for CSM, staying for time reactions of Bocchi!! Both aired at the same time, and even when I was already a fan of CSM, BTR suprised me so much and stole my heart. I know you'll love the show. For songs: Olivia Rodrigo performed in Glastonbury this year and played a cover of Friday I'm in Love with Robert Smith!! It's on youtube and spotify (for an Olivia Rodrigo song tho, I would recommend "lacy"!!)
You need to check out MyGO if you enjoy Bocchi.
Yeah! Finally someone mentions MyGO😭 Such a masterpiece
If you enjoy Bocchi a lot. I really recommend having A Place Further Than the Universe in the next short anime poll after Pluto. And this has me hoping for the next long anime poll after Monster, the options will be all shows with female leads. Shows like: Apothecary Diaries Kaguya-sama Sound! Euphonium Fruits Basket Revolutionary Girl Utena
All of them are currently in the Top 20, so maybe :D One month left until the strawpoll ends: https://strawpoll.com/w4nWWdjrJnA
Rebelde mentioned??????!??
If you girls enjoy anime girls in bands, i really wanna see your reactions to Hibike Euphonium. One of the best shows ever.
Ex-Factor - Lauryn Hill
"pluto sounds fun " lmaooo
Pluto is like Monster: 50% great human stories that make you happy, 50% great plot that question your morals.
This is how I disappear - My Chemical Romance
takopi
Elderberry Wine by Wednesday. They’re last 2 albums are both really good overall
So excited to rewatch this show with you guys!!!!!! I'm currently listening to True Believer by Hayley Williams, the entire album is great
You guys are doing Bochi The Rock? Let's fucking go.. Cute girls doing cute things isn't my gnre but trust me, this one is a slapper. Great pick.
This anime is cute, but if you got an itch for a good anime / manga about bands or music in general, BECK is the all time great
For music recommendations, this might not be aligned with the whole rock theme, but Solar Fields - Sol is one of my favourite songs that I keep coming back to (it's all electronic, ambient, and extremely well composed). It's well worth a listen.
recently a mexican singer, Silvana Estrada, release her new album, called "Vendrán Suaves Lluvias", her voice is beautiful also recently she had a tiny desk in the npr music channel, i'll recommend her collab with aurora "cure for me" C:
viki has spammed me with Twinkling Watermelon for almost the entire year with YouTube ads (and i've hated it for it) but now that Lola recommended it, i'll have to give it a try i guess
I'll recommend Labios Rotos by Zoé, my favorite mexican band (besides Rebelde lmao) and the whole MTV Unplugged is the best thing in the world :)
i love Luna in that unplugged
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sidKaj23ROw&list=RDsidKaj23ROw&start_radio=1 For the past 3 months I've been listening to a 1977 Japanese song called "銀河系まで飛んでいけ" (the literal translation is "fly to the galaxy"). It was performed by a girls idol group of that era, and it gives off a lively and upbeat vibe while also carrying a strong sense of nostalgia. I came to know about this song because of a recently released free short anime on YouTube called MILKY☆SUBWAY THE GALACTIC LIMITED EXPRESS. Its opening theme uses this song, which gives the sci-fi story a touch of retro charm—I really like that combination. If anyone is interested in that anime as well: https://www.youtube.com/@milkygalacticuniverse
Just got this notif and had to resubscribe, ts is so peak
I made a playlist of 2025 new songs i've been listening to, fair warning I basically only listen to femme-led gay indie alt/pop https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0i78CntabcOe8E1mfU6G01
Saved this for later, will check it for sure
Alright Lola, I've been listening to The Blue Stones a lot recently, they're a blues rock duo from Canada. My pick is "Black Holes (Solid Ground)" If you like that one I also recommend "One by One" 😁
Everyone sharing their current song they are listening to for each episode is a really cute idea. I hadn't heard wolf alice before but that song rules. I'll share "Pool" by Tricot. https://youtu.be/TZjTXh_zaXc?si=J58wCrwuMiC2MU3p I've been listening to them a lot this summer. Keeping it in the realm of Japanese female rock bands sounded fun, and that song in particular really feels like it could be a Kessokou Band song.
Lola mentioned Kyo in the discussion which is obviously a hint that they'll watch Fruits Basket after Monster
Parachute - Hayley Williams
Hi Lola, I loved your song recommendation, I confess I didn't know it yet and here's mine, in English Rein Me In - Sam Fender, Olivia Dean and I'll allow myself to recommend one in my native language, Portuguese (from Brazil) Águas de Março - Elis Regina, Tom Jobim
That bit from the outro does sound fun ^^ I have to go with Oasis and the song "Don't Look Back in Anger" the weather is starting to get gloomy, rainy, windy, and that song always brings back warming memories. They were the first concert I ever went to, it was the first song I tried to teach myself on piano outside of the classical stuff you learn for the conservatory, it was the song that brought my first love and I together, and I've found some comfort in the overall tone of moving forward and choosing optimism over resentment. The band split not long after that first concert, and after around 15 years they finally came back. I am so thankful I was able to be standing in the pit while tens of thousands of people were singing this out loud while we were all drenched in rain. It felt surreal, I don't think they'll stay together, I don't know if they'd come back to this city even if they did, so there was something bittersweet in the conscious thought of "You will never see this again" but enjoying every second until the end.
this show is amazing, you're gonna love the characters so much
Also If you like Anime about Banda you would love GIVEN!!!
The CONCEPT of Melina and Lola knowing REVELDE as a mexican… I love it! 😮💨❤️
fr, i'm brazilian and rebelde is also very popular here, it's really cool to hear that they know it. i was so surprised
Keiichirō Saitō, who directed Frieren, also directed this season of Bocchi the Rock.
Now that Yuasa is semi-retired, and Shinbou and Imaishi are past their primes, I'd say Saitō is by far the best TV anime director right now
Since the chainsaw man movie i've been obssesed with 3 particular music from it ("Jane doe", "in the pool" and "iris out") except that i've been listenning a lot to "résiste" from france gall a french singer
Haven't seen the movie yet. But the soundtrack has some bangers on it!
Compelled to point out that this is made by the same director who made Frieren so a lot of similar directing choices and vibes. Also, the person who sings the intro song is the VA of the red head character (Kita) who also voices Ubel in Frieren
Keiichiro saitou my absolute GOAT
i'll recommend somewhere a judge by hop along
Hop alongggggg!
By the way, Takopi is all about happiness too :D
Litteraly is about an octopus that spreads happyness the "sin" part being a joke
And Lola wants to know music. I love old Twenty One Pilots and Silverstein, but lately I’ve been listening to coldrain and old Linkin Park songs again. So my recommendation: “coldrain – We Are Not Alone”
I know this sounds really silly but Bocchi is such a comfort show to me because I was (and still am to a degree) very socially anxious and introverted growing up, I even experienced agoraphobia when I was around 13-14. I had a lot of similar anxiety and panic attacks that’s shown in this show and it gives me much warmth and empathy to all the characters navigating around this in a healthy way
Been there, brother. I was also a very socially anxious kid, and this show brought back some memories. Fortunately, over the years, I slowly got over it, and now I can even do public speaking with no problem!
This show draws you in with its sweetness and then reveals that it's also incredibly funny, just wall-to-wall unbelievably good gags
Booooo! I been waiting to watch it until yall started. Been wanting to check it out and ya drop it right when I’m heading out. Makes me wanna skip the tacos and cocktails…sigh, I can wait another day I suppose.
Pink hair girl: Hitori Gotō / Bocchi Yellow hair girl: Nijika Ijichi Blue hair girl: Ryo Yamada -------------------------------- And because the anime did a bad job translating the japanese names: The name Kessoku Band is a pun on the words for "unity" (kessoku) and "cable tie" (kessokuband). And "Bocchi" is a nickname derived from hitoribocchi, a term meaning "loner" or "all alone".
Bocchi is finally here! I haven't really been listening to much music lately because Lunéa's 'New Type of Hero' cover has lived rent-free in my head since To Be Hero X ended. I highly recommend!
Guess this is my 2nd time watching this show 😎
I'm sorry, i didn't understand what lola said, when she said the name of the music she recommends, does someone what music she was referring to ?
the sofa by wolf alice
The credits rolling mid episode KILLED me the first time 😂 god i love this show’s humor…Bocchi is so relatable to anyone with anxiety
The humor is peak, but the animation is what makes it so fun to watch. They nailed the depiction of the inner thoughts and the way they distort realism.
A Place Further Than The Universe is the better only-girls anime. Just saying for future polls :D
That's an strange localization name for Haibane Renmei ngl
Omfg LMknowing about Rebelde is wild. That's how I know Spanish lmao. Milena as Roberta and Lola as Mia is actually perfect. Y soy Rebelde!
Ah yes, Literally me fr fr: the anime (without the honing your skills part 😔)
Highschool students in a "lighthearted" comedy anime with charismatic characters and wholesome moments. Yup, this works for my Kaguya-sama agenda
Heh - nice bakaguya PFP. I'll support that agenda.
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO!!!! ᕦ( ᑒ )ᕤ
A nice wholesome show, no blood and guts and fav characters dying etc. Just characters hanging out and growing
This channel was first blessed with Bojji the King, now we’re blessed with Bocchi the Rock
For those about to rock, we salute you 🤘
The animation in this anime may go unnoticed due to its drawing style, but it's very well done. There's a wealth of detail in the movements of everyday scenes. There are many style changes, "camera" perspectives, and a well-established rhythm. It's clear this wasn't made lightly.
In a better timeline, we would now be discussing the great stories about Robby and his wife, as well as North No. 2 and Sir Duncan :D
Well, i had no idea what to expect but a main character with a pink hair was not on my bingo card. Will have to watch it tomorrow or on Monday but looks funny.
El momento mas esperado por toda latinoamerica unida
This is one of the most wholesome feel good anime’s out there. This show will only make you feel proud and happy. Get ready for tears of Joy.
I'm so excited for the journey you are about to go on!
Bocchi comfort time!
YAYYY never opened a notification so fast in my life
