If yall dig the youngsters making manga angle yall need “Keep your Hands Off Eizuken!” In your life. It’s about three schoolgirls who make an anime club in school and they make little animes that are pretty cool…and the opening theme song is one of the most banger-y bangers in all of anime openings lol. Plus I know you lot like having female protagonists in your shows since they seem few and far between and this gives you three.
fitting before Bocchi
I'm so glad and grateful that you decided to watch Look Back after CSM, thank you both so much!! (writing this comment through tears) Also excited for the Bocchi reactions
"Then why do you draw, Fujino?" Followed by that montage, and at the end forcing herself back into drawing....fucking brilliant, emotionally brilliant.
lo de youtube y su traduccion automatica de los videos asusta xd
100% jajajajajjaa
watch Your Name pleasee
When I saw this thumbnail, I thought it was Mikasa and Eren
I went to see the Chainsaw Man movie the other day, and it was fantastic. The art style was slightly different from Season 1 of the anime, moving even closer to Tatsuki Fujimoto's original character designs. I'm really looking forward to seeing the two of you react to that movie now.
I was worried they would make the movie and s2 really bad because of the jp fans response, but the movie was already produced by then. I am still worried for s2
41:28 unfortunately it’s not just JJK, it was also the same with Vinland Saga, Attack on Titan, and Chainsaw Man. The same studio MAPPA produced all of these and production stories behind each one sounded horrible and abusive for the animators. The good (or maybe lukewarm) news is that the UN has gotten involved to stopgap the terrible working conditions
I think they would like "The Long Walk" except for the ending. "IT" would be great though for a fun horror movie with a nice cast.
By the way: I know people mentioned "Your Name" because of Lola's wish for a movie with romance and comedy, but "Suzume" would be great too! Also the next Long Anime has a high chance to be a Rom-Com Anime like Fruits Basket, Apothecary Diaries or Kaguya-sama Love is War.
But have you considered Shinkai is mid across the board? Lol
To be honest, Vinland Saga Season 3 could happen in late 2026 or early 2027. MAPPA’s production schedule is strangely still pretty empty. https://anilist.co/studio/569/MAPPA Here’s a timeline: https://imgur.com/a/X5AYr8i
Yes! I really wanted to see your reactions to this movie. I agree with everything discussed in the review, this movie feels very personal for Fujimoto and watching it made me appreciete even more his other works.
my head hurts.my face is itchy because of the salty tears. i feel like crawling into my bed and staying there for a while.
Kiyotaka Oshiyama, the director this movie, is the reason Look back looks so beautiful and feels so unique, he litteraly did half of the animation by himself and corrected the other half, I can't put into words how many work that requires. I remember when he said on twitter, that he sleeped for 2.5 months on the studio, before finally getting to sleep at his home. The passion this man posseses is an exemple for me. Of course Fujimoto also is impressive (he may be my biggest inspiration in life) but i think lots of people already talked about him, so why not talk about the other guy that put his soul into his work to create a perfect mixture between his rounded lines and the more sketchy, straight and rough lines of Fujimoto. Look back hit me on so many levels, everytime I watch it, I cry of sadness, I cry of happyness and then I tell myself : "I want to draw"
I think you should definitely react to some movies. While characters don't have the time to build like in shows, you can still become very attached to them. I remember watching WALL-E and being surprised at how much I cared about some little robot I had known for like 90 minutes.
Let's give these reactions lots of love. I'm really curious to see what the next film will be. I see lots of comments mentioning Your Name, and I wouldn't mind that at all
Love crying with you guys, this movie is sooo so special :') can't wait for bocchi next week!
YES. TRY TO WATCH MORE MOVIES. I VOTE YES.
Would love to see, your name or perfect blue for movie reactions if you guys Will continue them!
A good horror movie to react to is one from this year called Weapons.
Recommending Spirited Away if you girls watch another anime movie!! I think you'd both really enjoy it
I didnt even vote in the poll but I am super happy about this!!!
If you girls ever decide to watch another anime movie, please watch Your Name.
watch Your Name,fantastic movie
Fujimoto, you're a manga genius! His works from the ages of 17-26 is also being adapted and comes November
Tkm Fujimoto, no hagas sufrir mas a tus personajes gracias jajajaja
If you want to check out anime movies, you can't go wrong with any of Satoshi Kon's four movies. Perfect Blue is a psychological thriller. Very heavy subject matter. Top tier movie. Millennium Actress is a surreal adventure story. Top tier movie. Tokyo Godfathers is "the best Christmas movie you've never seen". My personal favorite movie. Paprika is a trippy sci-fi mystery. Top tier movie. Christopher Nolan copied several shots from this movie for Inception.
Can't miss with these
Fujimoto might be the luckiest mangaka alive. Chainsaw Man and Look Back got adaptations, and his pre-Chainsaw Man one-shots are also being adapted for release next month (November 2025) Now imagine if Fire Punch and Goodbye Eri also get adaptations :0
Somebody else also said it but if you are trying to get into movies you would enjoy the spiderverse movies. The first one is called "Spiderman Into The Spiderverse" and the second one is called "Spiderman Across The Spiderverse". There will be a third and final one coming in 2027 I think. It isn't the traditional Spiderman movie, it's really different compared to regular superhero movies. Also I almost forgot to say that it's animated.
I think we can now start the campaign for Your Name
At the end of the movie, this interview was played. It details some of the process and how the voice actors were selected for the roles. Both of them first-timers! The director was in attendance for questions after my showing at the theater and it was a wonderful experience https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6XnNnBdSoM
This movie is a lot of things but I find the two core aspects of it that stick out to me are: the idea of “don’t look back in anger”, and an answer to the question “why we create art”. The not looking back in anger is in the title and quite self evident. But why do we create art is a bit more open or vague. I find that the movie directly answers this question right after it asks it, just without any words. It goes on to montage all their memories together as friends creating art and shows their friendship and impact they had on each other. So the reason we create art is because of how it connects humans together and the impact it has on one another. Those two core ideas are what makes this movie to me, and it makes me cry every time. There’s also the clear dedication to the Kyoto animation fire that’s just so tragic but also beautiful in seeing the passion for art that still is out there.
If you guys are taking Movie suggestions, the Spiderverse movies would be perfect
Amazing movies, I am sure they would really like it because it isn't the traditional superhero movie. It is more than just a superhero movie.
Thank you girls, I really enjoy crying with you again😭
There's a lot of things you could say about the movie but I'll touch on the one thing it did that impacted me immensely, the feeling of grief after unexpected horrific events. What made it feel so real in this movie is the fact that there was no build up, there was no narrative, she didn't "deserve" it, there was no karmic moment, there was no satisfying character arc, if anything it goes against a traditional character arc of a socially anxious character. Character is a shut-in > meets a person that inspires them to grow out of it > tries to become independent and face their fears > dies. At a glance you might think this doesn't make any sense, wouldn't this send the message that going out and taking risks is bad? But that's exactly why it's so tragic and real, and why Fujino obviously feels such immense guilt. Besides that, the movie obviously doesn't send that message, after watching this you can be confident in knowing that Kyomoto wouldn't have done anything different even though it ended that way, when we take these risks we experience things that drive us forward and give our lives meaning. Something to remember whenever we ponder all the bad things that could happen. I'm not sure if you watched the entire credit sequence but in case you didn't, eventually Fujino is done working and leaves to go home, leaving behind the strip (representing Kyomoto) to hang there. A reminder that even while we grieve we have to keep on living and move forward, for those that we've lost can not. Kyomoto won't be able to pursue her dreams anymore, all Fujimo can do is keep pursuing hers in her honor. No matter how you romanticize or try to make sense of the events, in the end it is just awful.
LIVE ACTIONS show subscribers this is your sign that you will enjoy this movie even if you’re not into anime. Relatble and grounded plot with great characters. Give it a try
‘Look Back’ and ‘Chainsaw Man’ author is Tatsuki Fujimoto. The 2 main characters are FUJIno and kyoMOTO so together they make Fujimoto’s name so you can see how personal this story is. Ah yes nothing like using the vehicle of two girls (with plausible queer undertones) as a way of conveying your story. In an interview Fujimoto reminisces: “There weren’t any prep schools near me, so I went to an art class with a lot of old people, where I did oil paintings in the corner. There were good artists there, so I decided that if I didn’t get better than them in four years I would kill them, and since I didn’t want to go on the run if I was a good artist, I just kept drawing” Across his many interviews and manga volume afterwords Fujimoto comes across as very odd and funny but when you read between the lines you can see his sincerity and honestly he feels very relatable to our generation. In this quote you can really see the Fujino in him and his envy for “better” artists but obviously he is being overdramatic here and just trying to motivate himself. Haha… unless
YESSSSSS I WONNNNN. I'm so happpy!!!!!
OH MYGOOOODDDDD
"Your Name" is Rom-Com :D
i've read that the attack on the art school and much of the story overall was directly a response to the kyoto animation arson attack. and i think you guys are definitely right that fujino, the main girl is sort of the authors self-insert. so to me i definitely read the whole thing as sort of an homage to kyoto animation, and the author coming to terms with his feelings about that as an artist. one thing you guys missed was that the girls were publishing their manga under a combination of their names "kyo funjino" being a mashup of kyomoto and fujino. so kyomoto wasn't being left out of being credited for their manga. but when kyomoto leaves fujino kept using the name.
On July 18, 2019, at the Kyoto Animation studios, a tragic incident occurred: a 42-year-old man entered the studio’s entrance carrying 40 liters of gasoline. The incident caused the death of 36 people and left 34 injured. The reason this man attacked the studio was, according to his own words, because he claimed he was being plagiarized by the animation studio. The attack caused some projects to be delayed, such as Violet Evergarden, and led to the loss of talented artists whom Fujimoto (the author of CSM and Look Back) respected Fujino and Kyomoto are a play on words of the author’s name, Fujimoto, but especially Kyomoto, which makes a direct reference to the Kyoto Animation incident. At the beginning and end of the movie, on Fujino’s desk, there are only two books with readable titles: the first one says “Don’t” and the second one says “In Anger.” When you put these together with the title of the movie, it becomes “Don’t Look Back in Anger.” Thank you so much, girls, for reacting to this movie. As a manga artist, I deeply appreciate the analysis you’ve given to it. For me, the door scene is an allusion to the privilege we artists have the ability to stop time and rewrite it. When we make mistakes, as artists, we can try again. We can erase, and we can make the “what ifs” become a reality. We miss so many moments and paint smiles between the tears of those memories. For me, living is the reason why I draw, and I draw because I’m alive — and I will carry everyone I cherish within my art.
Here a documentation because Milena doesn't know: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cLN_6Qab9k
So glad Lola remembered the stuff about Kyoto.
Damn I really wanted Takopi, but Look Back is a fine consolation prize
Fujimoto strikes again
Nice, and if you want something a little more upbeat I suggest [Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse] its really fun, and the 3rd final movie is planned for next year!
I remember voting for Takopi's Original Sin initially within like the first hour of the poll being up. Then I immediately changed it to Bocchi because I remember how much Milena wanted to watch it and forgot about it until this very video. Loved the chainsaw man reactions so much I bought the manga, my first ever, so I figured I'd help out the Bocchi cause this time. Glad it made a difference.
😭 they gotta watch takopi at some point tho. only 6 episodes to get through fast and one of the best anime of the decade already while being the top of the year easily. they would love it, discussions would go very deep
If you watch Tokyo story your opinions of movies will change forever
See takopi fans? We told you you should have voted for pluto lol well too late now... Feel bad for those who switch their votes though:( it'll be difficult for takopi to win against stein gate... And I think we were all very serious saying Milena's vote made bocchi wins lmaoooo. And I knew you would react to look back !! This manga is on my wishlist since forever but I still haven't read it... i may now just watch the movie I guess
no way!! wasn't expecting this! btw is there anyway to watch the walking dead reactions? I noticed on youtube you only have from season 7 onwards, and nothing here. I couldve sworn ep 1 was on youtube last I looked
Please consider Steins;Gate after Pluto. The first time it lost by 1% to Mob and I've lost count of how many times it came in second place by 5% or less T_T
After Pluto we will get Bocchi Season 2. No time for Steins;Gate. Steins;Gate got moved into 2027 :D
WELL THAT WAS UNEXPECTED
thanks tapoki fans, we're making you justice in the next short poll 🫂❤️
Lola is wrong. It's Bocchi - Frieren - Pluto - Bocchi, because Bocchi will return with Season 2 next year. That's why Pluto + Takopi would be better so Bocchi gets the whole summer after Frieren :D
Exactly... not enough takopi fans switch their votes unfortunately.
LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOO
Much love to you guys. You guys deserve some Bocchi and I'm happy you'll be watching it now since the schedule has favored dark shows recently. I'm just happy that Pluto is on the scheduled list even if we won't get it for a while, because it'd have been a huge shame to pass that masterpiece over (Pluto is amazing but wouldn't ordinarily win a poll if not for existing Monster fans).
THANKKKKKK GOOOD FOR KEEPING ME ALIVE FOR THIS MOMENT
Now we just need that tier list video that will probably never happen lol. its been 4 years since the last one. So many new shows to add and talk about girls !
I love Surprise Saturdays, thank you!
I love you both very much on this day <3
So.. we can blame Milena for Pluto loosing? (T . T) we’ll see y’all next year Pluto bros.
PLUTO IS COMING AFTER FRIEREN 🧘🏻♀️
I was expecting Bocchi the Rock but what is life without a few pleasant surprises.
I mean to say, there’s a point of quiet at the end of this, where you can hear the pen tapping on her cintiq as she is working. I’m an artist and I hear that noise hundreds of times a day but never noticed it, but just hearing it suddenly in the movie made me emotional and connect to the character even more. Those quiet days of just you and the screen and the tap tap tapping.
A note to any budding artists out there, there’ll always be someone is you think is better than you, you do have to learn anatomy and perspective and I’m so sorry.
well, you're welcome for that vote because i just voted because i knew you wated to watch it 😂😂😂 i have no idea what any of the shows in the poll is about or what even is this movie 😪
PLOT TWIST OF MY LIFE?!
Ok I confess this was unexpected I was almost 100% you would never react to this movie but thanks 😲 🙏 I didn't vote for Bocchi but I hope you enjoy it
Fingers crossed Goodbye Eri also gets this same treatment 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽
With the fujimoto anthology coming out, and look back being well recieved, it seems like studios are keen to pick up more of his stuff so hopefully!
YESSS YESSSSSS YESSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSSS THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THIS IS THE BEST SURPRISE EVER I'M SO HAPPY I COULD DIE LOOK BACK MEANS SO MUCH TO ME THIS REACTION IS GOING TO BE EVERYTHING
We won 😭

More Fujigoato!
Oh hell yeah
omg this is such welcome surprise!! i’ve had a lousy day but this just reset my mood 🙏
YESSSSS THANK YOU
Well that's quite a notification to see 😁 Now you can see some more of what Fujimoto is capable of
WOW I DID NOT EXPECT THIS !!! Thank you !
This is how democracy should always work.
Can’t believe my eyes, this is perfect
I've been waiting! Excited to see and cry again 🥹
