Haikyuu!! 4x01 Reaction

The second season of Frieren will start in January 2026！

As many others have pointed out: due to several factors the art-style for Haikyuu’s anime has changed and the production quality has taken a hit. The artstyle change is meant to resemble the manga art and was most likely a decision made by the production committee in charge of Haikyuu. The production quality of the anime is no doubt a combo of Covid, change in staff and the choice of changing art-styles. Despite some clear issues, it’s honestly incredible what the team was able to accomplish. The amount of people and hands that even a single 30 sec clip must go through is immense. Despite any issues with the production I know you both will love the season and am excited to see it

The animation had its issues, but the most noticeable is the change on character design as it was done to reflect the manga style. The director also changed so that's that.

This season was produced during the pandemic lockdowns, and everything was done remotely. That's why the animation isn't the same.

They yesterday announced that the next movie isn’t going to be the last like they first said and that we will get a special episode. That’s great because that’s means that we will probably get all the manga adapted and maybe even another season after the next movie. But most likely we get another movie instead of the season. But this is so good, we were concerned that they are gonna cut so match from the manga if they will only do one movie, I’m so glad that is not the case!

i am so mad at the producers that they didn't finish this out as a series. even with all the struggles that occurred this season production wise it's still perhaps one of its best seasons. sad we're nearing the end, but very happy they've enjoyed it thus far

It seems that the production of a new short episode(s) of Haikyu has been decided. The new work will likely be broadcast on television in Japan. The timing has not been decided, and in the original manga，it seems to be an episode between the two movies. Other details have not been announced.

Season 4 is such a great season story wise but it can be a little jarring animation wise sometimes but overall still a great season. This episode is the only time I remember feeling severe second hand embarrassment from Hinata but I can't knock my boys determination. I also fully understand Washijo's rejection of Hinata because like Milena was getting at, for Washijo to accept Hinata means also admitting that he gave up too early in his career and if he had fought harder he could have been an amazing player, for him players like Hinata are the ultimate reality check that will open his eyes to his biggest regret in his life and he doesn't want to confront that, it makes me find his character extremely interesting though.

Best season of the show, for me at least. I get a kick out of the first half of the season.

As a manga reader, the way you guys are talking about Washijo, I just know there’s a match in nationals that you are going to absolutely love. It will make you cry endless tears but you’ll love it.

a lot of ppl think this arc is boring but ballboy arc is so essential to shoyo as a character and i can't wait to see you girls be devastated in the best way this season!!

The first movie covers about 30-40 chapters and it honestly cuts a lot out, so after you watch that I'd suggest reading those chapters. The second movie was supposed to cover about 90 chapters which is why there was so much concern but I heard there might be a season after the movie now which would definitely be better, although how long the first movie took was a very long time so it will be a long wait. Also this is the start of Hinata becoming my favourite character in Haikyuu. Up until this point Tsukki is #1, but Hinata overtakes him for me soon.

All the props to the animators but I dislike the season 4 artstyle change. People like to say it's closer to the manga but the manga art is absolutely beautiful so I just wish they stuck with previous seasons art. Like just looking at Asahi makes me want to cry

So excited for season 4!!! And more excited that it might not be the final season!!! They haven't announced whether the new arc will be season 5 or OVAs but at least it's certain we'll get more than just a movie. Hope everything in the manga can be animated. I think the manga really tied up everything perfectly. I personally think there's a chance for more season or movie. Because back when they were first promoting the second movie they put "final" in the title, but now they took the word final out. Many people think it's because the first movie performed extremely well in the market, so they might have changed the original plan for haikyuu.
