The director of this show is extremely intentional, going as far as writing some of the story and making the animations after the music was written, to better fit the tone of the show. With that said, the movie was made after the show and written in such a way that it's meant to be a send off for the characters. None of the director's other shows received movies, meaning he truly wanted to cap off this experience with one final adventure. Watch it after you finish the show. It has better animation, better world building, and the music gives you a great last impression of these characters you'll always remember.
I hope you guys save the movie for after the show. It isn't chronological but it doesn't feel right to interrupt the perfect flow of the episodes.
Finally! I completely agree! We are watching them share in OUR experience and the whole world already saw the whole series before the movie - the movie gave us one last adventure and left (me personally) on a wonderful high note.
You guys definitely need to watch the Cowboy Bebop movie before you finish the series. It really is just a big, bombastic episode that wouldn’t make sense to watch after the finale.
I completely disagree. I think it’s a perfect fit to watch AFTER the series. The movie came out well after the series ended and thematically and tonally, it knows that. It’s a lovely conclusion to the gang, after all has been said and done in the show.

I'm loving these reactions, so glad they're watching Bebop. Also if we're prioritizing movies, I'd still put Godfather 2 (although I haven't seen it) and especially Goodfellas over Bebop movie. It's a good movie if you want more Bebop, but Goodfellas is just an awesome movie that I think any Sopranos fan will love. It's a pacier watch than Godfather that has a more comedic, punchy tone similar to early Sopranos.
Yep we all see that Godfather 2 is still not there lol. I'll admit I didn't watch cowboy bebop movie so for me the show is good as it is. The movie is not a must watch but still a good addition from I've understand

I think the movie is worth watching! It's not needed but it's like an extra long great episode with even better animation.
The movie is skippable in the sense that it does not affect the later episodes for their plot or characterization. It is essentially an extra-long standalone episode. But it is a good episode, so worth watching on its own merits.
I definitely think they should watch the movie, it only has one element in it I don't like.
OMG, is the smart but dumb guy she is thinking of Sokka, because now I can totally see Spike and Sokka hanging out.
And both are completely unfunny in the Netflix adaptation :D
About the movie... It's a very fun movie that I would enjoy watching your reaction to. But it is definitely skippable haha.
