i don't comment much with you guys because you're both super intelligent and i trust that you guys come to the right conclusions regarding character personalities/motives every single time, but i wanted to say that i love that you guys love tsukki and yamaguchi so much. they're not on my top 5, but their backstories genuinely move me so so much every single time. individually and as a duo, they're both so incredibly special.
Lol the fact that the character development is not over and not just Tsukki but literally EVERYONE is why Haikyuu is so good. It's a show about growth and the human spirit.
Lol I didn't expect a Denver Nuggets break down... Lol yes, aside from the starter, Bruce Brown and Christian Braun were important to that NBA championship. The beauty of team sports.
And this is why Bokuto is my absolute favorite side character. He and Kuroo taking Tsukki under their wing and helping him find his passion is so heartwarming. I LOVE his speech to Tsukki about finding the moment that makes him love Volleyball because I believe that a true statement for not only sports but doing anything in general honestly. I also love how despite him obviously being a big competitor, loving competition and his strive to be the best, he is not rude about it or stuck up, and he will genuinely take somebody under his wing and mentor them if he felt he could help them. What's so great to is that his entire personality is so uplifting that even TSUKKI warms up to him and doesn't really insults him like he normally does, it's so refreshing to see. Also Yamaguchi is indeed the best friend anyone can ask for.

true, did you guys see how awesome it was when Lola didn't know this episode was about tsukki? I was so afraid she would catch on bc we were all hyping it up. But it's nicer when they don't expect it either (especially bc they're so good at immediately predicting things and putting pieces together)

I sob everytime I watch this episode especially as a younger sister to two very sports savvy brothers.
The joke “It's just a club”, “That sounds like someone's name”, “Oh, like the Mary Club?” only makes sense in the original Japanese. I wish Crunchyroll would just borrow from Eng Dub here. They could have translated the joke into English with “Justin Club”, but instead they removed the joke and a tease from Kuroo about Bokuto about his bad grades in school is told, with background knowledge about Bokuto from the manga. That just makes the scene more polished for international watchers.
Keep an eye on Ennoshita too! Just because some characters have been mostly in the background so far doesn't mean they don't get their chance to shine. He was really just ice-coldly cut out of your edit :D
i feel the story is told perfectly. It's ok if they don't know some characters. The show will let you know who is who when it's important. I don't feel it is needed to hint at other character they might not be aware of yet. The show will carry them along just fine.
Fun Fact: Hinata is Sun and Tsukki is Moon but there's another paralel with Kageyama being Shadow (from 'kage' which mind remind you of Ranking of the Kings) Also, Yamaguchi's name is Tadashi and means loyalty.

I am vibrating at the prospect of you fully witnessing this masterpiece of a story because it's so character focused

Tsuki means moon in Japanese btw :) And "hi" is one of the pronunciations for the word Sun (at least the kanji). Like hi in Hinata, which is what Yachi meant it's like Sun vs Moon.
