Actually, the word the subtitles translated as "flattered" should really have been translated as "happy". She said, "Ureshii desu," which just means that she's happy. I don't think the "flattered" translation fits her personality at all, but perhaps it works for an American audience. I have to keep reminding myself it's translated into American-English, not English, when the subtitles start to bug me lol

Just about a perfect episode for me. A mix of this type of school life episode interspersed between volleyball matches is what I was hoping the show would be. I’m very happy with the direction it’s heading in.

the true character development we got in this reaction series is yamaguchi going from being barely seen/recognized to "tsukki's friend" to being called by his name and now also named best boy (an absolutely deserved title). i feel like a proud mother 😭❤️
