You guys were spot on about Mike and Irwing!
This cliffhanger is 😮💨👌🏼
I'm impressed my gaydar has gotten so powerful that I was able to pick up on some vibes between Burt & Irv in the last episode. Good for them Helly is a real one for being so stubborn that she immediately resorts to attempting to kill herselves, and it's brilliant that she's made it so her outie will be the one to experience it. At this point drastic measures have to be taken
That was the episode that hooked me. So glad that you two seem to feel the same way at the end of it. Helly is crazy and awesome!
What is today ?
maybe nothing kkkkkk
MDR learning budget communism/capitalist critique from Ricken's terrible book is always funny to me. The people on the severed floor have zero culture, that's what the handbook is. It feels religious but it's primarily a replacement culture with the goal of getting severed workers like Irving to buy into it, to substitute their lack of any history or identity. So Mark and Dylan reading the cringeworthy lines, this is the first writing they've ever read that isn't Lumen-approved. "Your work needs you more than you need it" is trite in our world but for them its borderline revolutionary. Man who has only ever read the Lumen handbook reading his 2nd book: "this Ricken guy has some interesting ideas"
Helly's elevator stunt was insane! You guys bring up such interesting theories and analysis of the characters--curious to see what you'll think of Cobel in the end.
Yes, you are correct - the topic of Mark’s wife’s death did come up in an earlier episode - Mark tells Petey that she died in a car accident. (PS - characters name is Irving, not Irwing 😂)
It wouldn't be a true LM reaction if they didn't mispronounce at least one name 😄
Mr. Milthicc is one of my favorite charecters in television
Double cheeked up on a Thursday afternoon
You previously said that there needs to be some suspension of disbelief regarding the idea that you become a different person altogether when you go downstairs, or that you forget. But I would argue that for example with amnesia, you also have to recreate a context for your identity in a similar way. And I think the idea of innie and outie could be compared to Dissociative Personality Disorder, or DID for short. Previously known as Split Personality Disorder. There are cases where people have episodes and entirely different parts (known as alters) of their psychology awaken and take over, with a completely different identity (tastes, likes, preferences, and even sexual orientation). I invite you to read up on it, or watch some YouTubers with it talk about it. I think Severance takes some of these real-life occurrences and uses them in a creative way. The brain is a wild thing.
this is the episode that made me binge the rest of the season… imo from this one, every ep after this is a 10/10
A company called MDR (Market Data Retrieval) is one of my vendors. I like to think that they have totally appropriated Severence's MDR and have memes posted up all around the office.
John turturro (Irving) that is also a famous actor is good friends with Christopher walken and that’s what walken is in this series. Turturro said the director how would he like to have walken in the series as he could see himself falling in love with his friend…of course Ben stiller was more than happy with the idea
Also fun fact for people who also watch the sopranos reactions like me, Tony's sister Janice who the girls just met in the show (Aida Turturro) is real life cousins with Irving's actor John Turturro!
When you can't share your strong opinion cause it's spoilers :x
I'm still at work, but my outie can't wait to watch this lol
lol me too
This was such a well-paced episode. Great title, as well. My heart broke for Helly
