It's clear both Lola and Milena are highly aware that Frieren is popular. The production alone, were consisted of a lot of industry S+ tiers from director to VAs (almost all the characters and side characters you'll hear more soon), composers, animators. So it's no wonder an already highly anticipated manga getting insane level of everything would already reach heights in its premiere alone. This arc elevated Frieren's popularity even more, on top of quality of everything. Fern's sakuga last episode is one, but the "KYS" scene (Keep Yourself Safe;) gave the show so much memes everywhere. The "low tier god" memes. The screenshot to the start of Frieren's association to games. And I know you girls may not grasp this but Aura was actually a subject of so much memes with the theme of being told what to do, specially in fanarts. Everyday there's always new fanarts of her. 100, 200k likes, 300k+. I've seen it all 🤣 you guys def just got an answer how it got extremely popular.
I think we all expected the LTG Frieren memes, but "Bullying Aura" memes taking off was such a surprise. My favorite are the "Aura, go be a Japanese office worker" ones

Himmel saying "just a feeling" has so much emotional weight, it really hit me. I was all chills for almost the entirety of the episode, the music in this show is something else
What I love about this episode as it would have been so so easy for them just to make it a fight, to have it be an epic showdown between Frieren vs Aura. Instead not only do we get a LOT of backstory for our MC, it manages to tell a quiet and touching story about life after the death of a parental figure, whilst still delivering on one of the coldest ends to a fight in anime. As someone whose biggest fear is losing my loved ones, this show has helped me so much in not taking the time I have with them for granted. So happy you're reacting to this so I get to happy cry all over again <3

You could do it before. Lola always uses short forms and cryptic titles for Patreon releases. For example: Lola: frieren 110, haikyuu 110. Milena: Frieren 1x09, Haikyuu!! 1x09.

just came home and i'm destroyed but you bet your ass i'm going to watch this and the haikyuu updates right now even if i need to be up and running in less than 6 hours. this episode is something else, just chills all over my body.

Himmel is a favorite indeed. I love the character architype of those who continue to affect/ influence or drive the narrative long after they are gone, missing, or not absent. Kinda like Ging in a way haha
I still have to chuckle at the fact that the Mimic Monster comes third in the popularity ranking after Himmel at number 1 and Frieren at number 2 :D

It's so understandable how Frieren wasn't able to completely enjoy the journey with her former party. I've talked to some people who kinda lost their ability to socialize just from the several months of Covid lockdown. How do you handle trying to reconnect with other people after almost a thousand years of being alone? Also, the track that plays during that scene is titled "Freiren the Slayer"
This short 4 episode story is awesome. We learn so much about Flamme, Frieren and demons. Still, the next 6 episodes are peak Frieren episodic stories for me. I'm super excited to see your reaction to these stories.

I would like to say Happy Frieren Friday as per usual but I get so sad knowing Flamme's VA passed away a week ago and I knew once we get this reaction we would get more screentime of her compared to the other episodes ..... and the scene about planting more flowers around her grave as this is Flamme's favorite spell. RIP to the legendary VA
It makes me so sad that we're getting a new voice actress for her in the second season. Atsuko Tanaka was just perfect for her. When we eventually watch Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, we'll have her in the lead role for 52 episodes and get to enjoy her talent. She will also voice a character in Monster, but unfortunately it is only a small role.

only noticed it on rewatch but frieren starts wearing flamme’s earrings but only after she meets and joins the himmel’s party. she likely had them for centuries but maybe only felt worthy of wearing them once she set out on that journey
She wears her earrings and flamme’s necklace is on her magic staff
