"why the fuck am I crying!?!" Every Haikyuu fan knows this all too well
I am not surprised it was Haikyuu, I'm surprised by the 50/50 tug-o-war. But in the end, as bitter as I am, I can't say I'm surprised 🙄
I'm so happy, omg❤️ thank you!!
I resubbed because you're watching Haikyuu and Frieren back to back like that's so mother of you two
HOW DO I GET PERMISSION TO WATCH THE FULL REACTIONS?
cant wait to watch with you! so glad you picked Haikyuu lol.. I've watched a few eps a couple of years ago, but never got back to watching it. Now, it will be even more interesting
Never wished more for a reactor to wash Haikyuu! This is gonna be good
YESSSSSSSSS LESGO BABY
I am so so happy. They’re going to have such a wonderful time with this!
OMFG YESSSSSSSS!!!!!
YEEEES Haikyuu 🥹🥹🥹
Looks like I’m gonna start watching Haikyuu😭
im semi new here, is this a tuesday/thursday show now?
I believe it is
Fun fact: volleyball got way more popular in Japanese schools after Haikyuu came out!
The last information I had was that 30% more boys are playing volleyball in Japan since the release of the manga.
My favorite show all the time after HxH! I also have that Karasuno High School T-shirt, love the dedication to prepare :))) Honestly I never thought I would love both shows that became TOP 2, when I usually only watch shows with blood shed lol. And I read both of the series around the same time, only 2-3 years ago, it's surprising that both are considered old series but they're still relevant until today. P.S. I thought Serbia was quite strong in volleyball! The last VNL tournament for men's team was not bad.
Aaaah so happy! So excited to join this journey and re-watch this beautiful show again :D
My fav anime of all times, enjoy!
Calling Hinata “sunshine” when his name literally has the meaning sun in it!!? I’m not gunna make it. This reaction series will be the death of me.
true that
Lola your comment on how the sound effects take you back gave me soo much joy! There’s actually a really popular subset of Haikyuu reactions where volleyball players (professional, couches, college, high school etc) watch this show and almost every single one of them has commented on the realism of this show. In particular they always comment on the sound effects. The anime team absolutely nailed the atmosphere of volleyball
My favourite show reacted to by my favourite reaction channel❤️❤️ … I don’t think I’m going to survive. I’m going to rival you two with the crying!
First Black Sails (my favourite live action) and now this. I am too blessed!
Because Lola was confused with the haikyuu / haiku: Haiku is a short form of poetry originating in Japan (pronounced similarly).
As soon as Hinata enters the gym before the match he mentions the "smell of Air Salonpas" and essentially it's the name of a brand that produces spray-on pain relievers commonly used by sports players! It actually exists outside of Japan as well and apparently it has a very distinct smell, reason why Hinata recognized it instantly 😊
this gonna be so many tears
omg haikyuu reactions by my fav reaction channel?! knew this day would come ! (has performed witchcraft)
my friend was never into sports anime but would listen to me gush about them, then randomly they messaged me and said i was right about haikyuu 😄😄
"Our child" Lol they already adopted Hinata, Yeah this shit is about to slap.
they already said he's sunshine in the first ep lol, yeah I loved how they kept saying kageyama's sweet too, though that's the last word I'd use to describe him lmao
I think I had a vision of this 3 years ago, we are finally here
Yesss Haikyu is my fav anime because of the wholesomeness and character development. Having strong themes without being fantastical stood out to me so much, and yes, you will know all their names 😌
@CT -- If you enjoy wholesome anime with character development, I would suggest checking out Natsume Yujin-cho (called Natsume's Book of Friends in the west). Everything from the characters and story to the soundtrack and art style gives off very wholesome vibes, and the series has an almost "healing" energy to it.
Hike you!
The voice actor for hinata (main character) is also kage in ranking of kings so you had no chance of not liking him immediately
Well, I dunno about that. Milena often seemed to forget about Kage until Lola brought him up. 😅 "I love Boji, Despa, and Hiling." - Milena "Wait, what about our boy Kage?" - Lola "Him too." - Milena
Anybody know if it’s just one ep a week or will we get another tomorrow or something? Sorry new here so don’t know the schedule if it’s known also big fan and can’t wait to see you fall in love with these great characters.
For long animes like this they they do two episodes by week. This is the anime replacing the schedule of HxH. So It will be Thursday and Sunday unless they change the schedule for some reason.
LET'S GOOOO!!! Absolutely loved your reactions, I'm already itching for you guys to see the rest of it 😭 Hinata (Sho) is indeed the literal sun & best boy (his name "Hi" is the kanji for Sun in Japanese!). I don't think there's been a character that makes me as happy as he does Also, I think Lola pronouncing it as "haiku" is really cute 🥹 It's pronounced more like high-cue! Since you loved the other boys just from seeing their faces in the opening/ending, I seriously can't wait for you to actually meet everyone 😄 The names may be daunting at first but as the episodes progress, I'm sure you'll be cheering every player's name!
I can confirm that I found the constant 50/50 and the outright war in the comments really funny, as someone that didn't care at all which show won. I will say I personally didn't switch my vote, I'm sure lots of people did though, and that's also really funny.
voted for haikyuu and then was excited when i saw this pop up lol. sounds like hell out there
I get the feeling this could be milana's new all timer fav show, she's really, really into it, lola is loving it a lot too, really nice
if you guys are melting over the characters and the wholesomeness this much from the first ep, you guys are gonna absolutely fall in love with it in the next couple of eps, if you haven't already lol, the cool thing is, aside from being a super endearing and hype anime, it's also one of the best written ever, phenomenal character developments and dynamics. can't wait for you to meet the great king, my fav in the show
i was gonna be happy with whichever won but this is coming at a time when i need it the most. this is gonna be an amazing journey girls! 🖤 because it’s olympics season, this reminds me of tokyo 2020, and they would play haikyuu songs when the players would warm up. i became a huge fan of the japanese men’s volleyball team after haikyuu and the olympics 😅
LOVE LOVE YOUR REACTION
YESSSSSSS
And tomorrow Frieren's Friday! All we need to heal us after that exhausting poll
all timer poll huh? wish I had been there at the time lol
wanted Monster but Haikyuu is peak too so gonna just enjoy the ride
I’m so excited!!!!!! Haikyuu will always be my comfort show
i’ve already seen the show but why do i literally cry everytime lola does 😭
All I can say is thoughts and prayers with the names but I believe in you
“cant wait for the asshole that turns out to be great” are they geniuses?
The way this applies to not just one character 😄
Am i tripping or isn't Kageyama also Mob's family name?
It is lol
lmao "I have already adopted him" is this the fastest adoption in LM history 😂 Hinata deserves all the love and praises!!!! Don't worry, you will remember all their names and even the minor side characters 😊
Bojji wins that award.
omg its out, yes
it's very cute that lola was talking about how for the first time she felt excited about volleyball when she saw a match of the serbian team, and then at the beginning of the episode it's shoyo who stops on the street and sees the little giant in a match on tv, and that's when he feels the excitement of volleyball and decides that's what he wanted to do 🧡
I knew you would like the first episode, but it seems that you connected in such a beautiful way with the show! Like literally you were crying! This would be an amazing and beautiful Journey
well, first time watching this one too. gonna play this while i eat dinner but just the intro was entretaining as hell as i listened on my way back from work.
Since some people don't know this and it's a bit amusing: Volleyball in Japanese is written ハイキュー or 排球. The term combines the characters "排" (hai), meaning "to expel" or "to push away", and "球" (kyū), meaning "ball". So the anime is simply called volleyball. :D
Also Karasuno (烏 野) is Karasu (烏) / からす / "crow or raven" + No( 野 ) / の/ field. So it's something like "Crowfield" or "Ravenfield"
Oh so so excited to watch this again with them. Such a good feels show
Hahahaha episode 1 and you're both crying, this bodes extremely well <3 This show got me through a really rough health stint a few years ago and made me desperately want to pick up Volleyball despite being a couch potato, so really can't wait to see you experience the sheer joy that is Haikyuu
I am so happy to watch haikyuu again with you two, this series gives me cute aggression ❤️ 🩷 🩷 ❤️ 🩷
That was a funny first reaction. I'm excited to the next episodes! And I will give you the names of the characters with episode 2 included, because Japanese names are sometimes hard to remember: Shoyo Hinata (#10) Tobio Kageyama (#9) Ryūnosuke Tanaka (#5) [Connie guy] Kōshi Sugawara (#2) [Vice-Captain] Daichi Sawamura (#1) [Captain]
Another sport anime I'd be happy to watch you react to is Ahiru no Sora (it's not going to happen tho because not many people watched it). It is more focused around the students' lives and their interactions as high school students so it's different from Haikyu...the tone is a little bit darker, it's more realistic and there are much more valuable lessons in it. The main character is still short and you would love him
I just hope people don't start posting spoilers about the characters. Let them have their own perception of the characters as the show progresses and they get to know them
I support this. (spoiler) there are some characters who will appear with but impression at first but eventually will be amazing. So we shouldn't hurry to make them know and like our favorite characters. I am sure that they will love all the characters in the end. It's impossible to not to.
We put up a good fight guys. ; ; Grats to the Haikyuu! folks. A larger percentage of the Hunter and Steins;Gate votes probably swung more to Monster but don't worry both shows (as well as Steins;Gate ) are all incredible. I'm selfishly hoping you guys enjoys sport shows maybe Ippo has a shot at some point!
Look forward to Monster in the future but happy you ladies will get to enjoy Haikyuu which I also am fond of.
Omg what lola described as expectation for this show is literally run with the wind (except they are older) 😭
you crying in the first episode.... im not gonna survive this. This was everything and more than I ever imagined. Thank you girls <3
Man this felt like watching the show for the first time. Your girls' excitement made my day
This will be my first watch, so I'll check in with you guys a bit later!
Not gonna lie, even though I voted Haikyuu, the poll saga truly soured any “victory” that came from Haikyuu winning. Didn’t feel like an actual win. But after seeing their excitement, maybe it was worth it after all!
that second half is why people were pushing so hard for it lol this show is even more fit for them then hxh, probably the most fit since ATLA
Just what I wanted :)
Look how happy and giddy they are just to start Haikyuu. This is exactly why I voted for it. Seeing them discuss the themes around coming of age, challenges of life and sports, and cry a lot just from the first episode itself, is such a joy. We wouldn’t have gotten this with Monster, sorry.
Even more glad to be part of the Monster fanbase with loser comments like these
Oh i have that shirt too lol the birds on the back are cute
ahhhhh I have no words!! Seeing the haikyuu thumbnail doesn't feel real LOL. I'm so glad you enjoyed it, I can't wait for what's in store for you! Btw, it's pronounced like Hike-you!
Awesome I’m always glad to rewatch this
This is such a perfect show for them. They’re literally crying on the first episode, it’s amazing.
looking forward to starting this, ive found a lot of shows i’ve loved by just following along oh and since they mentioned sopranos i wanted to plant the seeds for mad men. its a much gentler show and just as compelling
I'm ready to once again tilt at the Mad Men windmill. Let's gooo!
Very excited for your reactions to this show ! Also to answer your question ( It’s pronounced High - Q )
Lets ggooooooooooooooooooooo ❤️❤️
Good to see yous are excited and happy that Haikyu won at least haha
LETS GOOOOO
We're finally here. Thanks for this journey, guys. https://imgur.com/a/blWot9l
Plugging the channel's Discord one more time as my comment may not have been seen amidst the literal thousands of comments on the poll post lmao. There's separate channels for discussing the shows the girls watch both with/without spoilers. We also have a spreadsheet I made which shows you every show the girls have watched, both on the channel and in their own time, which will be fully up to date tonight. We also have general channels for shooting the shit, sharing memes and cat pics etc. https://discord.com/invite/pZfryBfb
Since y'all asked, the pronunciation is closer to "High-Q" instead of "High-Cool"
The sopranos will be pleasant🙌😂
Karasuno Boys are up!!!
LET'S GOOOOOO
Alright, it’s now officially confirmed they are watching Monster after this.. now all we gotta do is survive until then Monster bros ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡ see y’all Monster bros in a few months when they are done with watching Haikyuu. Also, just a suggestion but in the next poll maybe only people who are high tier should vote so no other fandom can make multiple accounts lol since it’s only a dollar, I think some of them have the resources to abuse that option. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this anime :))
Ill vote for monster next if its a poll
YEEESSS IM SO HAPPY OMGGG
Lets fucking goo
I'm so hyped about the poll discussion lmao
Well, my plan was to watch whichever won (as I haven't seen either but heard good things about both) so guess this is what I'm watching too!
Hinata Shoyoooooo!!!🧡🏐
you are going to love all of the boys😭
LETS GOOOOO 🥹🥹🥹
LETS GOOOOO
Yayyyyyyyyyyyy
LETS GOOO!! The best sport anime ever
Hmmmmm
I tore my patellar tendon last time I played volleyball, I ain't watching this 😂
Omg they’re going to love the characters😭
And we have a winner, look guys, both shows are great, I’m sure they will get to Monster………eventually. But, I’m kind of glad that we/they Re getting a break from dark stories and going for more light hearted stories. That doesn’t mean that Monster is bad, but, it’s nice to take a breather every once in a while
They literally have Frieren right now and HxH was more on the light side. I'm glad you're happy it's Haikyuu but this is a strange argument
The battle is over
I’m here for the poll commentary lol
Same😂
One of my all time favorite shows, I’m predicting it will become one of your all time favorites as well, this show makes you feel things you can’t feel in any other show.
Guys that was a great poll, seems like it’s going to be awhile until the next one so I’ll re-sub to Patreon once that happens 😆 No joke I voted for Monster but honestly both options were a win, excited to watch this
Whaaaaa!!!! That was a quick turn-a-round. The poll seems like forever ago now lol
Well, guess I'm gonna watch this with yall. First time for me too.
Let's go!
AT LONG LAST
