Breakdown | Alexander Volkanovski vs Diego Lopes

While Volk is definitely past his best, he put in a terrific veteran performance, leaning on his jab to outclass a dangerous but limited opponent.

Lopes was there to win and made the whole fight tense and even made some adjustments late to try to close down the elusive champion.

Nice breakdown! I especially liked the point you made about the 4th round, Volk having a repeatable process vs Lopes' success mainly being "lucky", for want of a better word. Really pulls together some of the subjects of the podcasts I've been listening to from both you and Ghost.

Thanks! Yeah I had someone reply on Twitter saying that Volk was the "lucky" one to have survived but the more I dug into it, the more I realized it was exactly the opposite.
