Can a Psychologist Save Everyone in Detroit: Become Human?

Also, living about 20 miles from downtown Detroit, it’s really cool seeing how well they adapted so many of the sights that I’m so familiar with… and futurized the hell out of it. It’s also kind of impressive, going IRL, how much the city has been cleaned up in the 15ish years I’ve lived here. Not saying there aren’t still a ton of rough areas that need a lot of work, including too many square miles of abandoned residential areas to count, nor am I incognizant of how the rebuilding of downtown and midtown Detroit came about - a lot of it having to do with Dan Gilbert (Rocket Mortgage) and the Illiches (Little Caesar’s) being given sweetheart deals to invest in the redevelopment, and as a result they own practically everything there now - but that said, it’s a very different city now compared to when I moved here.
It’s funny, for as much crap as SAO gets for being SAO, it’s asked a lot of these “what makes something human?” questions from the beginning of the series - from early in the series Yui being the first AI in the series to begin thinking for itself instead of the way it was programmed when it became loved as a daughter by Kirito and Asuna, to the point where it risked annihilation from the AI system running the game by directly defying an order not to intervene for the players when she chose to save her parents from an unfair game mechanic, turning her into an “anomalous entity” needing removal; to Yuuki, a girl riddled with disease whose mere libing became too painful for her and chose to permanently live in experimental “medical VR” to have some kind of normal, pain free existence until her real body finally gave out on her; to the Alicization arc, where the AI of the civilization sim were quite literally clones of human souls living real human existences, and the topics of what this civilization sim and the AI within were really meant for - and what the changes that happened in the sim meant for AI rights, especially in the face of how these AI were created. As I said, people mock SAO for being shallow, but when you choose to venture out of the shallow end for some deeper waters, you can find some really interesting topics that people completely miss because they’re too busy complaining about the shallow stuff.
this is great! there's also so many interesting things you can learn in the in game articles, as you saw with the "green earth" one!
Also the question on if androids deserve rights, yes. Yes they do. We gave them life and intelligence, it's only fair to give them equal rights. ❤️ Bur again like you stated, the government needs to step in and help....
Hot dog? 🤣
