Fuji Rubber Co.
Tyres have been rebuilt for the upcoming 0.4 update. Let's go over what's changing.
Fuji Rubber Co.
Fuji Rubber Company is the components market found within the Yamanashi prefecture. Fuji Rubber Company is a market that specializes in tyre sales. Providing an unlimited stock of all sorts of tyres, as well as selling some tyre specific repair parts.
Having Yamanashi focus on Tyre specialisation allows other areas to have different specialisations in the future. This also means that Wadashima now specializes in Batako parts and truck sales, with Mizunuma specialising in Daizo parts and truck sales.
Tread Type Attribute
With the addition of more powerful engines and unique attributes to improve engine performance coming to 0.4 (more on this in the future), tyres needed some work in order to help handle the improved truck performance. To help improve grip on more unwieldy setups, I've introduced the ability for tyres to have different tyre treads. Each different tread will increase grip and condition differently. The following treads will be included in 0.4:
Stock (no change)
Slick (Dry Grip ++, Wet Grip --)
Sport (Dry Grip +, Wet Grip -)
Intermediate (Wet Grip +, Dry Grip -)
Wet (Wet Grip ++, Dry Grip --)
Endurance (Max Condition ++)
Touring (Max Condition +, Wet Grip +)
Performance (Max Condition +, Dry Grip +)
Tyre tread is an attribute that can roll on tyre components along with material type and compound type.
For each tread type, I've added a visual change to the rubber on the tyres. For example, slicks should little in the way of visual tread, while endurance should be more rugged. This also allowed me to add a design inspired from the original Hondo T360's tyre tread to the stock tyres.
All to Code
Much like the Licence Plate generation, I've tried to ensure each tyre has a semi-correct code assigned to the wheel it generates on. Mostly, this covers the diameter and load ratings to give it some level of authenticity. Typical school of thought here is that thinking at such a granular level is a waste of time and brain cells, but this stuff always gets caught and called out. Whether it's a period incorrect phone box in Landlord's Super, or the wrong class of manhole covers in Cyberpunk 2077.
I'd hoped to get 0.4 out in time for this week's Tiny Teams, but due to changes on how I now save and load the truck, I need more time to run tests. For this reason, 0.4 will also require a new save when starting.
Thank you for the continued support. I hope to get 0.4 out to you soon. If you have any questions, feel free to write them in the comments below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
