Front End Improvements
This week I focused on improving the front end players are met with when opening the game. Reworking the UI to feel more polished, visually appealing, and (the word we all love) more diegetic.
Forgive the meme format, but I think it does help show the improvements. The original design was very flat, with a lot of wasted screen real-estate. Tightening up the UI elements allowed me to give Keiko a greater share of the screen space. She now stands tall in the environment, benefiting from better lighting.
Keiko now has a period-appropriate driving licence. Keiko can then check her licence from her tool belt in-game. The green segment on the licence show's Keiko's current licence level.
Ignore "Mr Tofu!" for the moment, I'll share more on him in a separate post.
Let's have a look at how the rest of the UI benefits from having the above changes applied.
Hopefully you like the improvements I've made. A nice bit of redesign and polish to help lift the game. It's not all just visual either, you can now spin Keiko and the truck by clicking and dragging them. They even maintain inertia!
Anyway, thanks for reading and for the continued support!
