Project Status - ON HOLD INDEFINITELY
PLEASE STOP PLEDGING AND DELETE YOUR PLEDGES
Dear Patrons and fans, it is with deep regret that we must inform you that we will be ceasing development on the Prince of Suburbia project. There are a number of reasons why we are doing this.
1) Since we launched the DEMO and with the most recent update there have been many abuses with the pledges so that patrons have received access to higher tier rewards and/or access to the new version, and then patrons reduced their pledge to $1 or deleted it entirely before being charged. We were hoping Patreon would provide access to the charge-up-front feature but they have not so the abuse would continue if we went forward.
2) Every creator deals with this but there are numerous fraudulent credit card charges and declined payments with every monthly charge cycle. While the goal may have steadily climbed throughout each month, it dropped down sharply with the start of every new month once the fraud and declined payments are reflected.
3) 2D art takes A LOT of time to complete. I know there were complaints about how much development time there was between the DEMO and the last update, but the honest truth is that ScarlettAnn was creating the illustrations at a fast pace. 2D illustrations take a lot of time in order to complete everything for new updates. 2D art is also very expensive in comparison to buying a nice rig and creating 3D CG models as you please.
4) The following/projected growth just isn't what we need it to be at to be able to continue going forward. It was not a profitable venture. I understand if some of you are angry that we are stopping development. I want you to know that overall the project was a net loss by thousands of dollars that I have no choice but to eat; this isn't and never was a get rich quick scheme. I wanted to be the force behind developing a fun erotic VN with the awesome art that ScarlettAnn creates since I was an AZL fanboy. I truly regret that we won't be able to see the project through as the story was just about to pick up and get really fun.
So, really it came down to this project not being financially sound to continue going forward for growth reasons, Patreon not enabling charge-up-front, credit card fraud/declined payments, and time constraints for new updates while using 2D art. If I was rich and retired we would continue forward because it was fun and would have been something great (in my eyes). But I'm neither of those things so this is where we stop, for now at least. And to dispel some of the rumors, no... I'm not Nergal.
There is always the possibility of returning to work on the project in the future if things change, but for now that is not the path we are going to take for the reasons aforementioned.
We want to close by thanking everyone who supported our project. We were happy to create something for your enjoyment (even if we can't finish it) and were glad that you were able to see some more of ScarlettAnn's art. I know I was. Please continue to support our team if you see them in the future and/or on other projects.

Too bad this project got axed, hope whatever project you'll make in the future will prosper better and hopefully the platform will improve in quality as well. If this is your final project. Glad that you tried though.
I feel that that I am a little responsible for this because my payment didn't go thru on the first not because I was cheating you guys but because I accidentally over pledged too many devs in December and with the holidays and spending money for that when it came to January 1 I didn't have enough money to cover all of my pledges so now most of them are in limbo until I get enough money to cover them all including yours. I feel really bad that this happened because I was really looking forward to more builds of this game. Well, when and if you decide to work on it again then count me in for supporting you and I do apologize for my payment not going thru for this month yet.

Saddens me greatly si ce it was yet another project i truly enjoyed that got suspended(including Nergals stuff:( ), and im with one of prevoius commenters, i have about 20 active plegdes, and im not earning dollars, so camt rly afford to plegde more, tho i'd like to, add to it the tax AND conversion rates it amounts to rather considerable amount of money.... Sure hope to see you bck tho
You said there is the possibilty of coming back to this project in the future, what would that take to do?
That's a damn shame. I was looking forward to seeing where this game goes since I enjoyed the art and premise. I never pledged to the project since I like to wait for a few builds, that's when games are still trying to find its identity. And this was going in a good direction. The story changes between the second and the first build were good, plus the setup for more. It really is sad to see this end. Also hearing how much money you are losing and how this game as six people working on it right from the get-go is understandable. Sad you didn't start off with two people or so and add more people when the project finally gets going. I hope one day this project and the team will return but until then I hope you and the team the best.
Well thats a shame, the game looked amazing and fun to play. Well take care anyway✌hope to see this game on the rise again.
