Reporting From Ukraine Update and Why I Joined Patreon

Patreon has its deletion risks. They deleted Arturs Patreon account for calling Russians Occupiers .

There are so many creators to follow and, at least for me, it is just not possible to support you all. Right now, it is still more important to support the Defenders if Ukraine. Sorry! I wish it was possible to show my gratitude to you.

According to statista.com, YouTube has a userbase of more than 60 million in Russia, most using vpn. FB was banned in Russia. YT has not been banned yet, but is monitored I'm sure. Russia is by far not YT's largest user base and I have no idea what the decision making process behind YT algorythms is.

I joined as a grad student. Actually I was an Assistant Professor at Utah State University in Nursing. I'm now on limited income so I have to limit my Patreon contributions. I look forward to all of your posts and it troubles me about You Tube policies.

It is disappointing that Google and Youtube don't seem to be helping their channels defend against bots. Also does not reflect well on the capabilities of their AI. For this backup plan for Youtube to work, viewers need to some degree feel comfortable with Patreon. - so far, I have resisted, but because of you giving it a try.

just for emergency back up (free member, as a pensioner I have to chose carefully where money goes.) If you get pushed from You Tube I'll upgrade.

Perhaps there is some diplomatic way to point out to YouTube that if they can't protect against bot attacks, it calls in to question their ability to protect private information...such as credit card numbers.

Hello Professor. I joined right away. I joined RUU yesterday as paying member, and right now, I can't support you financially too, but I will in the future when needed. I hate YouTube for being so untrustworthy for Ukraine youtubers. It's so sad.

I hope this helps you out. Utube seems to be stuck in a time warp and they cant change with the times.
