How to Move Your Save to the New Version (Windows & Mac)
Hey everyone —
Your saves live in their own folder, separate from the game's data, so you can carry your progress forward by copying one folder across. It takes about a minute.
Windows
Close both versions of the game.
Open the folder for your old version.
Find the folder named save — it's in the main game folder, right next to the game's .exe. (If you're coming from a much older release that has a www folder, look inside it: www/save.)
Copy the entire save folder.
Open the folder for the new version.
Paste the save folder there. When Windows asks, choose Replace the files in the destination .
Launch the new version and hit Continue or Load Game. Your slots should all be listed.
Mac
Close both versions of the game.
Find the old version's app in Finder.
Right-click it and choose Show Package Contents.
Go to Contents → Resources → app.nw.
Copy the save folder you find there.
Right-click the new version's app → Show Package Contents → Contents → Resources → app.nw.
Paste the save folder in, replacing the one that's there.
Launch the new version and load your file.
Playing in a browser?
There's no save folder to copy — browser saves are stored inside the browser itself, tied to the page you play on.
The good news: they carry over automatically between my updates, as long as you use the same browser and don't clear site data. The catch: they can't be moved to the desktop version, and clearing cookies or site data for the page will erase them. So don't.
