My Life Across The Multiverse With Mangekyo Sharingan: 4
Hours later, I found myself in the rented room in the inn I had been staying in for a while now. It was small, plain, and more importantly... Very very Private.
'Well, that takes care of step two.' For the most part anyway. With step one of finding Zanku complete, I wasted no time implementing the next step of my multifaceted plan to achieve my ultimate goal in this world.
Thinking of the shadow clone that had caused quite the ruckus, severely injuring several guards and escaping outside the city walls, I let out a sigh as I cleaned the blood off my sword. The time and brainpower expended to come up with this was truly a lot of work. To come up with all sorts of interlocking schemes to achieve his ultimate goal ... Aizen truly was a genius.
'It's fine Ryuusei, it's all part of your plan.' What was I scheming might you ask? Well that was a very long story I would get to in a minute. To start, the blood I was cleaning off didn't belong to the guards I mentioned, but rather to the group of scum who previously wanted to kidnap me yet again. Yes, upon dealing with Zanku, I headed for a criminal base to carry out the plan.
Only to discover individuals connected to the previous slave traders I killed discussing finding and capturing me yet again.
".."
Good. Very good. I didn't even need a reason to do what I was about to do in the first place as it would seem the last instance didn't get the memo across.
Hence, I spent the last few hours solving the problem at the source, destroying the entire gang and sure enough, discovering they were drugging hundreds of girls and young women in use for prostitution. The sight alone made my already upset stomach that would churn at the slightest inconvenience, lose all control as I hurled my guts out in disgust at the sheer lack of humanity.
With renewed conviction, I proceeded to eradicate several underground syndicates involving a few noble houses and practically drenching the capital in blood. My massacre of course didn't go unnoticed. In the end, I split a shadow clone as a decoy using the transformation Jutsu.
The clone put up a brilliant battle, single handedly decimating wave after wave of imperial guards and easily breaking through the encirclement to escape over the city walls, disappearing into the night, while my real body returned to my inn without a hitch.
"What a godforsaken city," Reaching into my robes, I took out my prize for the evening. The Imperial Arm.
Spectator.
With that, step two of my plan was officially complete. I sat down crossed legged, stretched for good measure and rolled my neck around before taking a deep breath. 'Alright. Let's do this.'
I reopened my eyes, directly showing the Mangekyo Sharingan. The pattern within my left eye began to turn. I reached out my finger and touched the weapon.
'Dismantle.'
BANG!
The weapon instantly blew apart making a loud sound .... In my mind that is.
And do, this was not the same as a severing slash from a certain famous anime. In that second, time seemed to freeze as the atoms of the imperial arm came undone. In an instant, my mind was bombarded by a flood of information, that came with it.
'There it is.' A three-dimensional blueprint made itself clear in my mind.
The density of the alloy. The exact composition of each metallic layer. How much Danger Beast tissue had been fused into the frame. The danger beast itself that was used to create it.
The arrangement of thousands upon thousands of microscopic runic pathways interwoven throughout the structure.
Each answer naturally gave birth to another question, and each question dissolved almost immediately as my Mangekyō peeled back another layer.
"...Interesting." So Danger beast cores, materials and Orichalcum weren't the entire weapon.
The real finishing work had been done by the enchantments threaded through every inch of its frame.
These symbols and materials used in the .... Hold on, wait a minute ... Why does this section look an awful lot like Sealing Jutsu?
So it turns out everything else was the foundation while this was the remaining one percent required to achieve the final work?
The runes weren't engraved onto the metal.
"...No wonder."
Without seeing this process firsthand, reproducing one from scratch would have been practically impossible.
Then... The final layer appeared. My expression changed.
"... So that's the soul." Nestled at the center of the floating construct was a faint sphere of pale green light.
A bound soul. Most likely the Danger Beast itself.
Ancient magic had been engraved on the weapon, binding the souls and wills of the danger beasts they were obtained from to allow the weapons retain the properties and in some ways, even surpass them. Well, this fit what I knew of Akame Ga Kill.
Tatsumi's later Incursio armor could even evolve and grow stronger after every battle due to the tyrant dragon soul in the armor. At the end of the series, he even mutated into a giant dragon and had to rely on Akame to use Murasame to kill the dragon's soul.
Well, that was the Manga version at least. Whether that would happen here was unknown.
Of course, compared to the Tyrant soul that was still alive in the Incursio armor, the danger beast used to create Spectator looked nowhere near as volatile.
'Unfortunately, it seems I can't really put this Imperial arm back the same way I found it.' At the moment, the soul was fluctuating and turning ethereal at rapid speeds.
My Mangekyo Sharingan eye Technique, Amenonuhoko (天沼矛), was capable of disassembling all matter I could touch into its fundamental components. In the process, I gained full information of the structure and composition of everything disassembled. Finally, I could reshape the physical matter back in any way I wished.
However, the last part only applied to the physical matter.
An imperial arm, was way more than that.
The moment Spectator had been dismantled, the ancient binding that anchored the soul to its vessel had ceased to exist. I could still reshape it back to its original form. However ... Without the soul, it wouldn't be the same as it was before.
In essence, I had effectively downgraded it.
'Well that sucks.'
I watched as the pale green sphere drifted upward, shedding tiny motes of light.
There was no point forcing it to remain, nor could I if I wanted to currently. Thankfully, I didn't need to.
The soul dissolved into countless particles before disappearing completely.
According to the original history, the craftsmen who forged the forty-eight Imperial Arms had long since disappeared. Hence nobody left in the Empire truly understood the process anymore.
"... So I should count as the first in ... Nine hundred years?"
I slowly closed my hand. The countless floating fragments immediately converged and merged together perfectly. Within seconds, spectator rested in my palm again, completely identical to its previous look.
"..."
I turned it over once and placed it on my head to activate it. The eye opened as usual and I instantly understood the abilities I could use.
"...As expected." I sighed.
It looked like Spectator. It weighed the same and the craftsmanship was flawless. But it wasn't an Imperial Arm anymore.
It had become...
A Shingu.
Well, that was the official classification anyway.
If I remember right, Shingu was the term given by the emperor who tried to create more powerful Imperial Arms nearly six hundred years after the creation of Teigu. Predictably, he failed as the ancient art of creating Teigu had been lost to time.
Not only were the Shingu supposedly weaker, but they came with severe side effects compared to Teigu and placed an overwhelming burden on the user's body to wield them.
So much so that users had to undergo specific training relative to the weapon for ten years before being capable of wielding it without getting crippled in the long run. One such weapon, was Kirichimonji, used by Akame before it was destroyed and she gained Murasame. A blade where any injury caused by it was incapable of being healed.
'... Well, all I can say is .... what the hell were the writers thinking?'
I rubbed my nose, feeling genuinely perplexed at heart. A blade that inflicted unhealable wounds ...
'That shit was seriously classified as weaker?'
Were they seriously trying to recreate Murasame and just decided off of that? Or did it really mean relative to every single Imperial arm ever created?
Compared to Spectator in my hands, how was this effect any weaker? "Oh, it's unfair to compare support tools?" Then what about Extase, the so-called scissor weapon that Sheele used? Or that blade ... What's its name that never even got any screen time in the anime?
In my memory, the blade could fire crescent energy arcs with a swing. Basically Kokushibo's moon breathing technique placed in a blade.
"...Actually..."
I paused. "...That's assuming the records are even accurate."
History was written by people. People exaggerated and misunderstood. People also had a terrible habit of calling something "inferior" simply because it wasn't the original.
No doubt, the emperor was probably just an ashamed drama who decided to seal weapons away to prevent his failure from being highlighted.
Even if he'd ultimately failed... The fact that he'd gotten as close as he did was already ridiculous. They were just incomplete.
Without a bound Danger Beast soul, every effect had to be sustained directly by the user's life force.
Naturally, the burden would be enormous. A Teigu borrowed strength from the creature sealed within it. A Shingu borrowed strength from you.
"..."
If that was the metric for whether an imperial arm was a failure or not, then I guess the emperor wasn't completely out of his mind.
However, if the fundamental difference between a Shingu and a Teigu was mainly the missing soul, then that meant ...
'With my eyes, I could mass produce Shingu in seconds.'
I leaned back against the wall. Of course... That was too much. Dreaming was free. Actually making one was another matter entirely.
To get my perfect souvenir weapon, first... I would aim for Teigu that wouldn't place an enormous burden on my body. Realistically now, even if I gained everything I needed, I would only make one or two at most.
Because my eyes were still Mangekyo Sharingan, not Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. 'Yeah, I should probably do something about that.' Yet another reason to return to the ninja world soon.
My lips couldn't help but curl into a smirk. 'I wonder how the Konoha elders will react to an Uchiha coming to crash the party.' I was almost tempted to head back right this instant.
That would be later though. For now, I still had things I wanted to do in this world, and I certainly wasn't leaving without my weapon in hand at minimum.
After all, Sasuke had the Kusanagi sword, Itachi had the Yata Mirror and Totsuka sword and Madara had his famous Gunbai. What sort of Uchiha would I be if I crashed the party without a suitable weapon? It would be a failure not to live up to the aura of this bloodline as one of its surviving members.
'Materials then.'
If I wanted to forge a Teigu worthy of the name, ordinary materials wouldn't suffice. I needed exceptional specimens. High-grade cores. Orichalcum. And preferably specimens possessing unique abilities.
The stronger the beast, the greater the possibility that its core possessed a unique ability worth preserving. Thankfully, I had already gotten most of these during my time here. When I came to the world of Akame GA Kill, I hadn't landed in the empire, but rather a neighboring territory.
In the process through all sorts of shady black market dealings, I had gotten my hands on some raw materials and the much needed extremely rare Orichalcum.
Upon entering the empire, I had even found and imprisoned a danger beast that was satisfactory for my goals. The main core of the ability my imperial arm would have was something I had already gotten from my travels. Now that I knew how to create a Teigu, only one thing was missing from my plan. Another Teigu.
You heard me right. I wanted another Teigu.
While the powers of the Imperial arm I was going to create would be awesome on its own and would probably be my primary weapon on all fronts, I was a collector at heart. There were few Imperial arms in the series that I actually liked, and unless it wasn't theirs yet, stealing from the main characters wasn't really my style.
Not to mention, Akame's one hit killer ran the risk of accidentally cutting myself and biting the dust. Was it ridiculous? Yes. Did I trust myself for it not to accidentally happen? Oh hell nah. Tatsumi's Incursio armor wasn't even Tatsumi's yet, and I didn't want to risk turning into a giant dragon so I'll pass that.
The villains weapons however? I had no such physical, or mental burdens. Which ultimately leads back to my reasoning for causing a massacre in the capital and having a clone escape so openly in the first place.
If my calculations were correct, the empire itself would send just the Imperial arm I wanted right to me.
After all, I had slaughtered a few noble families. Even if Esdeath returned, the rest of those rats wouldn't live easily unless she was practically guarding their homes. Prime Minister Honest would have to do something to placate them in the meantime.
'Ultimately, it's all part of my plan.' I let out a grin, reveling in the satisfaction of a well thought out scheme coming together by manipulating cause and effect.
This must be how Aizen initially felt like when manipulating the soul society.
"...Looks like I'll be spending the next day outside the Capital." I rested my chin against my hand. I was only lingering because I wanted a good night's sleep. Well, mostly. I still had to collect the bounty first. No sense leaving millions of Eris lying around.
Sure, I probably wouldn't be able to use it once I left this world but collectibles were collectibles and ... I suddenly remembered I was running out of space.
'Fuck.' I stretched my arms over my head.
Crack.
Crack.
Every joint popped in succession. "First things first."
I glanced toward the window and extinguished the lantern beside the bed.
"Sleep."
After all...
Tomorrow was going to be another busy day. Too bad the Capital outside wasn't going to be quiet anytime soon
