Upcoming Patch Update Tomorrow (February 3, 2026)

Happy February and Happy Black History Month!

Unfortunately... it's that time again. For those who don't know, tomorrow there will be yet another Base Game Update. Yes, mods WILL break, and modders will be busy, stressed (or both). This update is not routine. They're making significant internal code and logic changes, specifically to core game/relationship systems that most mods rely on to function.

This is just a reminder to:

✅ Remove your mods before updating. (PLEASE do this!)
✅Back up your tray and save files. (Also, PLEASE do this!)
✅ Once you've updated, test your game/saves without mods first to make sure everything is okay.
✅ Re-enable mods in settings.
✅DELETE your localthumbcache.
✅ Give modders enough time and grace to test/update their mods. (Say it with me...PLEASE do this.)

For those who don't want to update, stay offline and make sure auto-updates are turned off. I strongly recommend waiting until things settle and mods are confirmed compatible. What you choose to do is up to you but just understand the risks and practice proper mod care and management.

Also, please do not spam me with questions on when I'm updating... I am currently in grad school, and while I do my best to keep things moving, this means updates may take a few days or up to a week, depending on how extensive the code changes are, how they impacted my mods, and how long testing takes.
