Actually the thing I notice is the glove-thing that covers the heel of your hand and the two fingers (most likely to be) in contact with the tablet. What's that for? To prevent smearing? On a digital tablet?
It prevents fingerprints and smudging and also significantly reduces friction (especially in higher temperatures)
I'm not sure you should characterize as incorrect the method you've used to produce stunning work all these years. If you've found now a better way to hold a stylus/pen/gizmo and that new way works for you, then that's reason for celebration. For myself, looking back on your portfolio of work (that I've seen), I struggle to find things worthy of anything other than praise.
