WOLF???
Woof.
Wow! Yeah. It's often complicated. I feel that. What a beautiful and terrible climax! (Terrible in the older sense of the word.)
Reminds me a bit of a story Harlan Ellison once told which stuck with me. It only vaguely relates, so best with me. Also, I’m gonna muck it up a bit (memory’s a little vague on the details). Also, warning: this is a little dark, but I think it’s important enough that I’m telling it anyway, in case it’s useful. Bail here and don’t read the thread (where I’ll do the rest of the telling) if you’d rather not read any more.
The gist is: he got to a point in his life where he realized he wanted his mother, who had always been good to him, to die. And he was telling that story on the air (radio), to a host who was looking at him as though he’d just sprouted feet from his head. His mother was old at this point, and she was basically waiting for the inevitable, and he just wanted it to be done. And while he was sitting there getting stared at, someone called into the show, in tears, to thank him for saying that because she was going to through something similar and was feeling like she was a monster for thinking that. An addendum, from me. From which my take away was: yes. You may feel two or more feelings, possibly conflicting, things when the time comes. And that’s fine. Your experiences in life laid those circuits down over many years, and when the time comes, all the relevant ones are gonna get energized; you’re not a monster for feeling those feelings. Sorry bout the spiel; if it helps, even a little, I’m glad to have passed it on. Cheers.
Is he repeating himself near the end? Is he confused whether 'zel still alive? Can he hear the mysterious conductor, even now?
there wolf. There... castle
Kim is right. There is no wrong way to feel. Even if you feel nothing. Also, wolf.
Feelings are never straightforward when it comes to family and abuse.
Soooo good
So strong this comic. So strong.
Doggie?
The humanity of our foes makes war obscene. When one loses sight of that, one loses their humanity.
Sen. why do you make us hurt and why do we love you for it?
That one hurt. And Sirius asking Ling a second time reminded me of Case's conversation with the Dixie Flatline construct in Neuromancer.
Argh! So many emotions!
