Trip Photos
So I'm finally back from my 18-day trip to Seoul! I've been before, but this is the first time I've gone entirely as a tourist, not business or martial-arts related stuff.
It was a lot of fun, here are some observations:
Since 2017 (the last time I visited) there's been an explosion of coffee shops, like two on every block. And most of it's actually really good!
There's also been a massive uptick in vegan restaurants, which really surprised me. Previously it had been a challenge finding vegan food in Korea.
Saw a major pro-Palestine demonstration in Gangnam, which was super cool. The locals and tourists alike were very much behind them.
I got hit on a lot by girls, especially in Hongdae, furthering the Hongdae Lesbian mythos

Okay now I want to know what Dungeon 101 is. Also Hooray! Senna shared her trip pics with us! I feel loved!!
“Hongdae Lesbian Mythos” should be the name of your K-Pop cover band.
Hongdae Lesbian Mythos with their #1 single, "Yearning"
Fantastic! That looks like a lovely time, glad you got to get away for a while!
Vacation = success!
That's the largest book display I've ever seen!
Cool, glad you had fun :) Coffee places barely existed when I was in .kr fifteen years ago, so that's a nice change too.
It's interesting looking at some of these locations in Google Maps Street-view -- most streetview in Seoul is from 2014-2015, so for instance while the "Red Road" Clock appears in lots of GMaps photos, in streetview the thing doesn't even exist yet. The Seoul of 10-year-old-streetview ago seems ... I don't know, less colorful? How can that be..?
that looks so fun!
Congratulations on a successful vacation! Honestly that sounds like a dream, and hopefully it encourages you to take some time off more often!
Congrats on completing that most elusive of quests, Taking a Vacation! I'd love to hear more about Dungeon 101! Is it exactly like Pizza Dungeon? (I hope, I hope)
Unfortunately it wasn't open, so I'm left to wonder what the heck it could be
