So my partner has a headcanon that Kim always overprepares for the beach (extra sunscreen, giant hats, etc) because, growing up, she went on multiple beach vacations with Vonnie's family and as the one non-ginger, beach prep was Her Job and to this day it's the one logistical task she unconsciously takes Very Seriously. And I've decided that's probably canon.
That makes a lot of sense.
