=/

Just interesting, maybe the question is even rhetorical, but how to fight with those who share my files, which still have a paywall, in public access?

I'm so sorry this is happening to you! It feels very disrespectful for people to do such a thing, and I can imagine the frustration it must bring. Thank you for all your hard work ❤️ and I'm sorry for the bullies.

Even with the Piracy, would you say you still get a decent amount of income even with the leaks. Most have die hard supporters. Maybe just focus on those that support you and keep striving. I know it hurts, but most creators seem to just keep making and doing what they love and ignore the piracy. It's a part of life that happens all over the world. Just like shoplifters that go in a store. I hope you don't let it get you down.

I agree, which is why I keep doing what I enjoy. I’m not going to defeat this monster anyway, haha. And this post was written in an emotional moment, but I’m glad I left my thoughts here 😎

I believe that leaking files that are in early access (3-4 weeks before the official release) is blatant disrespect and without exaggeration barbaric. A creator spends their free time to produce high-quality and engaging content for players. They constantly learn, master new programs and tools to improve their work and grow as a creator. And then someone decides that waiting is “too long” and leak the content without permission. I can understand a situation where content is always locked behind a paywall with no free materials at all - in that case, the player might truly be unsure if it’s worth paying for. But with early access, you just have to wait. If you want an archive with all the content from a month - don’t steal a file from who knows where. This is someone else’s work, and a lot of it. Creating assets requires time, effort, and constant development. Wanting to get for free what is still in early access is theft - plain and simple. Especially when, with a \$2 subscription, you can receive the content gradually without spending more. If this is news to anyone - yes, even a hobby takes a tremendous amount of time. Try it yourself: create at least 13 new objects in a month. Then you’ll understand how much effort, patience, and skill it really takes.

I support that, it sounds logical ✍️❤️

I totally understand people who doesn’t want to pay for CC especially if those are under constant paywall. Though, since I became a creator myself I’ve understood POV of modders much more in a sense that it IS work, sometimes hard, sometimes a bit easier. And modders do spend their free time creating this custom content, instead of going out or chilling on a couch, or spending time with their families. And sometimes it might take really a lot of time. So of course you want this time to be converted into some kind of “pay” - in a form of subs, donations and patrons support. Idk why community still perceives this as smth illegal. Like… c’mon guys, you work for payment, right? You don’t go to work just for others to know you did something, created something, etc. And while with modders who keep their creations under constant exclusive paywall - I get the frustration and feel irritatated sometimes myself, when it is just 3-4 weeks of early access - it is totally fine imho. I honestly don’t know how to help you or what to do in these cases, but I feel you! Sending you my support ❤️

I also believe that every creator deserves to be rewarded in whatever way they wish, and it’s up to the users to decide whether to pay or not 💔 In any case, my post wasn’t about money, but about content leaks. And I in no way want to justify that. I want to emphasize that I’m talking about early access, which later becomes free.

with all the love and respect in the world: please understand that the sims and all its expansions cost over $1000, the economy is in decline, and so many people are out of work right now and cannot spend money for a paywall. the cc paywalls common in the sims 4 community make us the laughingstock of other gaming communities, who create and distribute their extensive work for free. 3 to 4 weeks IS a long time to wait, and most people will forget to come back. 1-2 weeks may grant you a little more understanding from the pirates. at the end of the day, do you want to monetize this hobby or do you want people to use what you make? that's what you have to grapple with. Again, not meant aggressively or in an attacking way at all, meant in 100% good faith.

I appreciate your opinion, but I’ll still stick to my own 👉👈 I’m not swimming in wealth either, and if I really like someone’s content, I save the post in my bookmarks and note the public release date. If someone forgets, it just means that content wasn’t that important to them. Everyone has their own thoughts on this, but personally, I like keeping a clear conscience 💔

anything that gets paywalled, no matter the price, will have people finding away to get it for free. there's no way around it. you genuinely have to accept the fact that not everyone wants to pay for content for a game, add to the fact there's more than one cc creator that monthly payments would be going to; its a huge amount of money (if you were to pay for all the cc you wanted on a subscription basis) to be spending for 3d objects and scripts.

I get it, but absolutely all my content becomes permanently free after 3–4 weeks. Is that really such a long time that it’s impossible to wait? That’s the first thing. And second: when I pay for something like this, I’m not paying for the CC itself, but for the author’s work. It’s a huge effort and takes a lot of time. Many amazing creators make our game more interesting completely for free, and that deserves gratitude or a donation if one has the desire and means. And if there’s no desire or means, I simply wait for the public release.
