About The Sims 4 Marketplace: my choice

Hi dolls,

You may have seen the news: EA is launching an in-game Marketplace, with creator packs and a virtual currency system.

I want to be very clear about my stance:

🩷 I won’t be participating in the Marketplace.

I won’t upload my creations there, and I won’t sell my CC through that system.

Why?

→ I don’t support the “virtual currency / microtransaction” model: it makes pricing less transparent and pushes a consumption dynamic that doesn’t align with my values.

→ Accessibility matters to me: I want my content to remain easy to get and easy to use, without going through an in-game shop.

→ I want to keep things direct and honest: here, you always know what you’re supporting, why you’re supporting it, and how it works.

What this means for you

Nothing changes on your end:
Traditional CC outside the Marketplace is still valid, and my creations will remain available the same way they always have been.
I’m committed to making careful, long-lasting content built to serve the community.

Thank you so much for being here. Supporting this page is also a choice: one that keeps creativity free and the relationship between creators and players transparent.

Love,
Bobby

I am quite late to this post... BUT.... Personally, I prefer to support my creators directly so they are able to keep a larger portion of my support. Personally, I also think EA has become a little greedy... But thank you.

I wish EA could find a better way to do it so console players could enjoy CC too without the malicious tactics they are using.

Hi there! Is there a way to edit (in s4s) your skins (not overlays) to show more things like freckles, and other skin details by other creators? Very few skin details show up on your skins and they are by far, the most superior skins I've ever used. Thank you! <3

Hi! Thank you so much, that’s really kind of you 🖤 It’s actually related to the sort layer. Mine are set quite high (1800), I chose that back then based on other well-known creator's settings. It can definitely be adjusted in Sims 4 Studio if you want your skin details to show more on top!

I very much appreciate your being transparent on your choice in the matter and the reasons behind it. I'm so pleased you also haven't followed the route some others have taken in condemning and harassing content creators who are taking part in the Marketplace. That is likewise their choice to make and we should respect theirs as we respect yours. If more people were as calm and compassionate about it as you have been, we would have none of the drama that has been swirling around this week!
