🌦️ Primer vistazo a Regional Weather | WIP - Development Report #10
🇺🇸 ENGLISH
This week I want to give you a first look at one of the new projects I've been working on: Regional Weather, a regional weather system for American Truck Simulator. 🌦️🇲🇽
The main idea is simple: I want driving through different regions to feel genuinely different through the weather as well.
A desert region shouldn't have the same atmosphere as a tropical area. Because of that, I'm working on different lighting conditions, visibility, rain, storms, and regional weather events.
These screenshots show some of the first tests I've been working on, including dust storms, heavy rain, thunderstorms, and different sky conditions.
🌪️ In arid regions, visibility can be significantly reduced during dust storms.
🌧️ In wetter regions, the atmosphere changes toward heavier skies, rain, and stronger storms.
⛈️ I'm also working on how these conditions behave throughout different times of the day and during the night.
The goal isn't simply to replace the sky. I want lighting, roads, visibility, and the overall atmosphere to change together with the weather.
The system is still under development, and I'm continuing to make adjustments and tests before preparing the first playable version.
⚠️ WIP — Everything shown is still under development and may change before release.
Some weather conditions were manually activated during testing so I could show different examples in these screenshots.
Very soon I want to show you how the system looks while actually driving a complete route in-game. 👀
What do you think so far?
And especially: what kind of weather would you like to encounter while driving through Mexico? 🇲🇽🌧️🌪️⛈️
