Update log #1 - Let's talk about 2.0
Hello everyone!
It’s been almost a month since so many of you voted for the rework of the game, with the goal of making future development smoother and creating space for modding. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been testing a lot of different ideas, and now I’m excited to share with you the vision for Gameverse Adventures 2.0!
The version you’re currently playing was built with Ren’Py — a lightweight engine that was easy to get started with. I managed to push its limits quite a bit, making the game feel much larger and even giving it a 3D vibe. But as time went on, Ren’Py became more of a constraint than a tool for the future.
Since I already needed to rework the code, I thought: why not rebuild everything properly, from the ground up? After experimenting with new approaches, I found the perfect fit: Unity.
Unity is a far more powerful engine that opens up many new possibilities. It will provide the perfect foundation for the future of Gameverse Adventures. (And I already have experience with this software)
My first step is to recreate the current game in Unity. Along the way, I’ll be improving performance, reworking the interface, polishing some features here and there, and even adding a new character to guide you at the start of your adventure.
And that’s just the beginning! Thanks to this transition, we’ll be able to imagine true 3D interactions, free camera movement, deeper gameplay, better interactivity… maybe even confetti! 🎉
I’m really happy with how the first tests turned out, and while it’ll take some more time to bring version 2.0 to life, I’ll keep you updated with more dev logs as progress continues.
Thanks again for your support and stay tuned for the next update log :)

When you say 3d interaction, you mean better 3d scenes or moving to a 3d movement based game. I like interactive novel style
For now, I'm recreating the basic game, which will remain a visual novel. But instead of videos, we could later have a free camera or free player movement. It's a possibility, but it still needs to be tested. In any case, it's something that could be developed a little bit over time in certain areas. (For example, the Academy could be explored)
YEAHHHH!!!!! LET'S GOOOO!! Looking forward to this. Just don't kill yourself in the process.
Hearing the possibilities definitely keeps my chin up. Just don't work yourself to the bone. Perhaps once it's in a playable state even if it doesn't have all the content in the current version you could release it alongside the old one. Just so we can get an idea on what we could expect. While keeping the old one up for legacy and memory perhaps. Just keep doing what you're doing and take care of yourself first and foremost.
Thanks, I'll keep the older (current) version just in case the Unity version is too big for some devices. I'll see about the release along the development, I'll need to get the community feedbacks on it :)
Unity makes playing very difficult on mobile devices, is there any plans in the future to also package the game, while its in its Unity form, for Android devices?
Yes, that's the last point I need to check, once development is a little further along. I'll test the mobile version, but it should be possible to create a package for that.
Awesome, we appreciate the update. Just be sure to take care of your health first and don't focus too hard on it. Make sure you're eating and you're getting your sleep. :3 <3
Haha no worries :D
I'm definitely looking for it. But please just make sure that you don't burn yourself out. Take your time, take breaks, and go to eep when you need, take care of yourself! :3c
Thanks, I'll be careful about it :)
