Kenny Ortega who directed high school musical directed this episode, he directs a few more throughout the show and every singel one is a banger
I find it interesting that people start to turn on Rory in this season. She's smart when it comes to almost everything but love. She's a teenager experiencing things for the first time and doesn't know how to responsibly navigate it. The heart break she experiences in this episode is valid and she actually understands it after the fact, but like anyone else she's still devastated while confused. The fact that she GETS IT and tells Jess that Dean wasn't being a jerk is even sadder.
For whatever reason, a lot of people seem to have very little empathy for teenage characters (especially when they make mistakes or handle things perfectly). Which is odd, because that time of life is when most people make most of their mistakes.
Loved this!! was waiting for it for so long haha. I think the rory hate is definitely bc of the later seasons..
Kirk is the absolute best. That's why after your first evaluation ("he exists") after season 1, I was like "he needs to move waaaaay up there on the list" :) So fun to see how you react to him now. :)

This is my favorite episode, it has a lot of funny moments, drama, Luke and Lorelai cuteness, a lot of Kirk so basically everything that matters lol. Dean finally speaking up is also really satisfying, Rory deserved that.
