I feel like crap today... anyone else?

It’s funny how, right before artists share their work, they often prep the audience with disclaimers: “It’s just a demo,” “I didn’t warm up,” “The dog ate my lyrics”—you know, trying to soften the blow in case people end up hating it. So, let me do the same…

Be Patient is just a demo. The drums need work, it’s not mixed, there are some timing issues, and I’m not even sure I like all the sounds I used. It’s one of those songs that lives quietly on a hard drive somewhere. That said, I do like the lyrics, and I think the song has potential—but I’d probably have to start from scratch if I ever decided to revisit it.

The song is about how, when you’re getting to know someone you like romantically, there’s often a bunch of gossip floating around, and you're trying to figure out what’s true and what’s not.
Did they really steal that poor man’s money to buy candy bars?
Did they really drink all the milk except for one drop, then put the empty container back in the fridge?
Is it true they ate all the popcorn before passing the bowl around?
Did they break up with you on Facebook but still show up at your house saying they want to stay together—they just don’t want everyone in y’all’s business?

Something inside you says those are all just lies, right? So, you ask for patience while you sort through the tea.
