REAL RADIO STREAMS; a selection of public radios with japanese music and other styles, if you mix it with the new "Horizon" notification it will display each radio logo!
The option to show album art (if available) when using music streaming services in combination with the "Standard" notification.
New "Horizon" notification style, this resembles the original radio notification from FH6 (left vertical centered with custom logo), as usual you can customize the style.
Holding a button is optional now; so you can just clear left and right Dpad directions or any other button in-game and use them without having to hold the Lb/R1 to control your music/radio. Check the "Inputs" tab.
Better Notification style selection method (theres a dropdown now) make sure to check Preview for each and play around!
Some under the hood fixes plus some UI/UX improvements.

🔰 QUICK DESCRIPTION
Some years ago I created a radio app for FH5, since then I updated it for FH6 and decided to release it. It is a portable windows app that provides in-game notifications when a new song starts (like EA Trax), and allows you to quick pause/skip songs with a gamepad combo so you don't have to stop driving for a second, safe to use, no ban risk whatsoever (it's an app, not a mod) and it works with most music streaming services (Youtube Music, Spotify and Apple Music confirmed working). From version 1.7 it now supports Online Radio Streams!
IMPORTANT: This is a standalone, external desktop app, NOT A GAME MOD.
It runs safely alongside your game, meaning zero interaction with your account or game files, NO RISK OF BAN whatsoever.

🔰 How to Control Your Music
While in-game, just use these default controller shortcuts (works with Dualsense too):
LB + A = Play / Pause
LB + B = Next Song
LB + X = Previous Song
🚩You can customize the shortcuts using the GUI (check video above), you can also use keyboard keys.
🔰 How it Works & How to Use It
The app works by sending standard multimedia commands (Play/Pause NEXT/PREV.).
For the best experience I recommend using the app of each streaming service, while browser versions should work, the dedicated desktop apps are much more reliable.
Download the archive below.
Right-click the ZIP file, go to properties, and check "Unblock" (if available).
Extract the files to any folder on your desktop (the app is portable).
Make sure your controller is connected, open the main .exe of the app.
You will be able to customize options or just select any of the 2 modes (music mode or real radio mode).
If you selected "Real Radio Mode", the app should start streaming music at this point.
If you selected "Music Control Mode" the app will wait for you to start playing music on your prefered app.
Open your game and enjoy!
🔰 Compatibility & Testing
This version has been fully tested and confirmed working on:
Windows 10 / 11, Steam version of the game (reports say works with XBOX version too).
Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music Desktop Apps (you can try other apps or browser directly, let me know how it goes).
Controllers: Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation DualSense, and other XInput controllers.
🔰 IMPORTANT TIPS 🚩
Keep only ONE music app open (when using Music Control Mode) or else the app will get confused on which to control.
If at any point the app desyncs from the player (Music Control Mode), just restart it.
optional: In FH game options set music volume to 0 and select any radio so you can still get the skill songs 🎌
If you play on a big screen TV at 4K, try setting screen scaling between 200% - 225%. I use 200% and the notification looks just right without having to adjust the default styles.
🚩Apple Music users MUST use the latest Apple Music app from the Microsoft Store.
🚩SPOTIFY users MUST enable "Show desktop overlay when using media keys" (Display settings).

May you please add VLC Media Player?

How do I use real radio mode? It says to download VLC Media Player to be able to use it. I dowloaded it, but im not sure what to do from here?
you just need to have it installed, the just run the app and use radio mode (from the top menu), maybe you will want to use the newly released app from the Microsoft store, its free until end of the month: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nmcn67c454z
also i really like the album art feature but could you possibly add a setting to disable the logo below it? it squishes it to the point of being near unrecognizable at smaller scales
What platform are you using? I remember Spotify forcing the logo below the cover so nothing that can be done there, BUT you can customize the size of the notification so it looks better on your screen an resolution.

There's nothing to check on my end, it's just a false positive from your AV, which one are you using?
Amazing app, a future suggestion would be to pull the Album Art or Spotify Playlist Art into the logo section, might need some custom resizing so it can fit correctly.
EDIT: feature added and released in the beta version of the app, seems to be working ok for youtube music and spotify on W10, needs more testing tough.

it says to connect a gamepad but i dont use a gamepad, what do i do?
It says "no gamepad detected" but after you start your music, it will work fine. DON'T FORGET TO SET YOUR KEYBOARD KEYS in the input/volume tab of the app, let me know!
Will there be support for FH3/4?
Based on users reports it should work ok (even on older emulated versions), please let me know because I haven't got the time to test myself!
Is there a way to add more than 1 button for the gamepad customization? only allows me to input one button, I would like to switch my gamepad layout to RB +A etc (LB is my handbrake)
The app asks for a "shift modifier" this is the button you have to hold to then press the second one (maybe I should make that option more clear), let me know if this answers your question!!!
Hi. I'm experiencing the same exact thing as the others with Apple Music/Itunes. It detects it, but keeps saying "Start your playlist" even after starting the playlist. To prove it's not having more than one music app open, I close it and let the radio launch to try to detect anything else and it tells me "No music app found."

Hey, is there a step I'm missing with Apple Music? Game and app are open and running, iTunes open and playing, but it just keeps saying "Start your playlist"
I think is due to having more than one music app opened at the same time, it happened to me when I had spotify opened and tried to use apple music, check that please since otherwise Apple Music windows App works perfectly (tested on W10 and W11)

Feature request: Add support for Online Radio Such as radio stations from https://www.radio.net/ Even if it just runs the radio stream URL, but even better if it can track the title and artist information. Would be an amazing addition!

I'll take a look at it, shouldn't be a problem if it works with regular multimedia commands from Windows. For now can you check if starting a song Before opening the app makes it aware of the music?

I tried switching tracks in the YouTube Music Desktop App using my 8bitdo Ultimate Wireless 2 controller connected via a 2.4 GHz adapter, but honestly, for some reason it recognizes it as a PlayStation controller at first, and it interprets my custom key bindings as plain numbers like 6, 8, 4, etc. I even tried using the keys directly via Bluetooth, but the app still won’t recognize my controller.
I have that controller and it works perfectly (using the included 2,4ghz adapter), I think Steam may be messing with your inputs, ALSO make sure to have only 1 controller connected and go to control panel to check the 8bitdo is the only controller and actually being recognized as xinput, Let me know!

I'm not familiar with plex amp, but try this: download the latest update (uploaded today), open your music app on windows and press play to any playlist, then open Forza Radio app and check if it detects it, if it does, you should be ready to go (make sure to play music before opening the radio app). Let me know

It does work on the XBOX app version, but on wheels LB is our left paddle shifter so can you make it bindable? Shifting while trying to control the music is annoying, and pausing the game to do it defeats the whole purpose of the mod.
I'm actually working on an update to make the buttons configurable! once it's out (tomorrow max) please let me know if you were able to map your wheel! This same post will be edited.

I don't think it's necessary since most keyboards have multimedia keys built-in, do you have a suggestion about it? I may consider it for some special cases.

Does not detect Apple Music app. Controller commands still work, so that's good at least. Edit: Ok relaunched tool after game and Apple Music were already running and it's display overlay in game now. TY!
