EmulationStation GoD mode! [special release]
Some time ago, I prepared a portable EmulationStation setup with the ability to download Games on Demand (GoD) for a friend. Since Myrient is expected to be closing soon, I’m releasing it so you get to give it a try. It supports over 25 consoles, it includes images (screenshots) and a ready-to-go RetroArch configuration.
How does it work?
Download the attached file, extract it and run ES-DE.exe, once you select a game, the backend will connect to Myrient and fetch the requested file for you and will run it using Retroarch, easy!
This is an AS-IS release only for supporters; enjoy it while it lasts!
Before extracting, remember to unblock the zip file, or else you may get errors.
IMPORTANT: This is a frontend only; the attached file does not include any ROMs or games.

I know there's a Myrient replacement already in place from Redditors
They are backing up the files (that's already done), but it seems that the plan is to release torrents, I don't think they will create a website that works just like Myrient. Torrent is the better way for sure, but it complicates things for new-to-emulation users.
Is there a way of adding different sources for when myrient goes down or is this is WiP? Either way, awesome idea, thank you.
This is just an idea that came up one day. I studied how ES works and what it sends to emulators, so it was just a matter of capturing the commands in between and building a bridge while adapting the code I’ve used in other apps to pull files from Myrient. There may be more options in the future, but I'm not absolutely sure right now, that's why I released it AS-IS, as a proof of concept, if you will 😅
