Turn your loading times into a walk down memory lane!
The Memories Loading Screen features a custom open scrapbook design that randomly displays screenshots taken from your own game. Rediscover forgotten moments while you wait for your game to load!
Details:
Randomized Display: Cycles through your existing screenshot folder.
Progress Indicator: The Plumbob in the upper left corner fills up to show load progress.*
*Note: The progress bar relies on game data availability; it functions when the game provides the necessary data, so it may vary by loading instance.
IMPORTANT:
By default, only screenshots taken directly with the in-game screenshot feature (by pressing the 'C' key) will work with this mod, as the game requires special embedded data to load them.
If you have screenshots (or other images) taken with external programs or tools (like ReShade), you must first convert them using my Screenshot Converter. After converting, drop the unzipped files into your Screenshots folder (located in Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Screenshots).
The Screenshot Converter is and will remain available exclusively to supporting members as an additional perk.

this is the best loading screen ever! it makes me be more intentional with my screenshots now and I look forward to seeing what will come next! I wish the screenshots would switch more often but honestly it's perfection as is!

i just downloaded this and im in love! it looks so goods with the screenies!! it would be amazing if the pictures shuffled continuosly, like a previous comment suggested

is the changed "tips" part of this mod? I'm pretty sure they changed when I started using this loading screen ... can I get rid of just this part and return them to normal or hide them somehow, maybe? Maybe somebody knows <3
This mod doesn't change the tips on the loading screen, so it must be something else on your end!

This is peak experience design. I wish EA's team prioritize making good use of often overlooked features like the screenshots in the folder.

I absolutely love this! <333 such great work you do! I was wondering though could there be a Subfolder into the Screenshots Folder where I drag my "beautiful screenshots" into? I also have a lot of screenshots that are just for cc development hehe :3 or just screenshots that did not work out the way I wanted to. The subfolder would only contain the ones that are really pretty :) Its just a thought btw no pressure!!! <3
Thank you! As for the subfolders, it’s not up to me how this works. This mod uses an established in-game system and there is no way to modify it.

There are currently no plans to make these tools purchasable.
Unfortunately, I cannot access the converter even though I am a member. It always says there's an error and then nothing happens.

This is by far the best loading screen ever. I love seeing the pics I took of my family like this 🥰🥰. Also an idea, I don't know how hard it is or if it's even possible to do. Having the book be even more dynamic and make it like someone turned the page and show another pic after some time. Sorry if this sounds kinda absurd to do ^^'

Finally, it's worth taking lots of screenshots, thank you very much! <3 Maybe you'll feel like creating more backgrounds using this concept at some point, that would be great. But I don't want to ask for too much, I like it so much that you can see your screenshots while loading.

Hi! I just wanted to say that it's the best loading screen ever created for any sims game! It makes playing much more immersive and gives a feeling of creating a genuine story. With this mod, the boring loading screens feel less boring. Thank you once more for your amazng work on your mods!
Hi! I just downloaded and added to my game, but the screenshots aren't shuffling. Rather, it's stuck on one image and the plumbob isn't spinning. The loading tips are displaying, however. Are there any known conflicts? I have a few UI overrides, but they're either your mods or unrelated to loading screens like map outlines (new creator, not the broken one), missing plumbob, wrench override, etc.
Are you saying the screenshot is the same every single time the game is loading?
possibility of having the screenshots shuffle continuously while the screen is loading in a future update? sometimes the loading screen takes a while and it would be cool to have the screenshots continuously change every couple of seconds.
Is there a specific way to put this into your mods folder? Ive put it in mine and removed all my other load screen mods and its not appearing. Sorry if this is a question you see a lot lol!
make sure you only have this one loading screen and just put it into your mods folder. Mine is one sub-folder deep, so perhaps your issue is that yours is buried too deep?
hi! is there a max amount of files that can be uploaded to the screenshot converter at a time? i went too crazy and uploaded 40 and now my dowbload is stuck at 4/40 😭 should i try it again (with less files ofc) or let it run for a bit before restarting? edit: letting it run did nothing, i mostly just want to know if there’s a max limit of files so this doesnt happen again or if it was just my computer glitching out
What happens to the plumbob on the loading screen? Do we need a "no plumbob" mod?
You don’t need any other mods. The original plumbob is automatically hidden.
hi! i love this loading screen but i cant pay for the screenshot converter/and i use gshade,, will that be ever released for free? i love the mod but am a bit bummed i cant see the prettier screenshots without paying. much love and i understand if not!!! xx
it says "The Screenshot Converter is and will remain available exclusively to supporting members as an additional perk." in the description so most likely no. it's only 3 dollars for a whole month tho so i'm sure you'll be able to afford it eventually👍
I love this mod! my screenshot folder has 200 pictures, most of which are from save files that I don't have access to anymore. it's so cute looking through the memories.
makes me want to constantly go to the load screen just to see what'll pop up next 😂
I was wondering what size does my reshade screenshots have to be to fit in the loading screen?

Would it be possible to have it able to pull from subfolders within the screenshots folder? Every new year, I put all my screenshots of the previous year into a subfolder named like '2025'. The screenshots are not altered in any way, I just move them to a subfolder. If it's not, that's fine, I just wanted to ask. :)

question when i take screenshots on game or add them to the folder, will i have to restart the game to see the new photos? or do they update even when the game is running?

Hi! I love the idea of this loading screen! But I was wondering, are screenshots in subfolders within the Screenshot folder not able to be read? I have a ton of in-game screenshots (12gb), so I have my Screenshot folder organized by the month it was taken and so forth. I just started using the loading screen and it only shows the most recent few I haven't gotten around to sorting yet.
Hey! Yes, it only takes the screenshots from the main folder, the game won’t read files from subfolders.

Oh, I thought I could put my gshade images on it! But it doesn't read them :( But it's still great!!
(Unfortunately) they have to be screenshots taken directly in-game, because they contain specific data the game needs to load them correctly! EDIT: I see a lot of people want to use this mod with their own screenshots taken with external programs, so I'm currently working on an online tool that will allow you to convert all your images to a game-friendly format! :)
