An Introduction to Second Wind with Nick and Yahtzee

Now I feel comfortable giving to your Patreon as I know it is going to you, team. I'm looking forward to what you guys do with your freedom.

Sending the best wishes and love to all of you, Glad to support you all directly over The Escapist any day <3

Wishing you all the best of luck, as a former writer/editor over at OnlySP.

Subscribed, so excited to be involved from the beginning.

I've enjoyed your content for a long time and I'm happy to (finally) begin supporting you all. Best of luck on the new launch

Honestly its absolutely nuts that Yahtzee is spending thousands of dollars to honour people's donations. The guy is literally paying for the privilege of giving up a 16-year job. Such shows tremendous loyalty to his fellow workers and to his audience, that is incredibly admirable

I'm so excited for this. I'm glad this is happening. You all deserve to own and benefit from your own content without corporate oversight. I'm expecting great things. Congratulations to the whole team!

Nick, I watched you strive from your start as Editor in July '19 for something positive; though the boot and heel of our Objectivist masters be against you I support you and your mission. May your passion for good and our collective faith bear us forward to a better world.

thee best of luck to all of you!

So happy that you guys have finally gone independent! Super excited to be here.

Calling it now, someone's going to start a series where they do a deep dive in how to break a game, either showcasing speed-run strats or infinite loop glitches. And it will be called "Breaking Wind"

Phoenix squad 🔥

Subscribed! Good luck with this new endeavor!

Best of luck on new start up. You will do great. Suck it Gamurs.

Subscribed! Never subbed to Escapist, but after leeching off of Yahtzee for 15-sth. years, I felt the urge to pitch in. Keep spreading your awesomeness on your own terms :) Godspeed!

Thanks for adding the $1 tier for us broke people

First Partreon page for me to sign up to. easiest choice of my life

I bet the corporate drones at Gamurs are kicking themselves - and eachother - right now... HARD! 😅

Insane what happened given all the incredible content you guys were putting out. Hopefully you'll be able to find your footing again

I’m so excited for this. Huge fan of you guys. Truly believe Yahtzee is the Pauline Kael of gaming criticism. Sebastian’s Cold Take series and the rating-less Three Minute Reviews were brilliant alternative additions to the homogenous gaming publication ecosystem. Nick is an incredible innovator. I’m glad you’re taking a chance independently.

Toi toi toi

You absolute legends!

solidarity

The chat went crazy when Yahtzee announced "Fully Ramblomatic" - nostalgia can really get you!

They are on the opposite sides of the screen compared to slightly somthing else! That's it unsubscribing, burning my PC and never touching a game again.

Same model as RLM happy to support you in this it has worked insanely well for them

This is the bountiful harvest you now get to enjoy, thanks to your leadership and your team's incredible work ethic, skills, and talent.

We are so glad to help this get going!

You reap what you sow. Yahtzee’s criticism and Nick’s editorial guidance—to say nothing of the work of all the other artists now part of Second Wind—have shaped and matured the very way I think about video games. Their work IS modern gaming discourse. No history about the subject is complete without their names. I say this without hyperbole.

I’m very much looking forward to the new videos and live streams. Nice work putting everything together so quickly.

Came straight here after watching the stream. Been part of the Escapist for years because of you wonderful people and will stay with you wonderful people for as long as you want to create. Looking so forward to everything you come up with! Good luck to all.

We got your back Nick

I'm guessing most of the content will be starting next week because that's when Nick is expected to wake up after going to bed tonight. I would say that this is the start of something wonderful, but the wonderful stuff with you guys started a long while ago. Wish you all the best! PS: That royalty free track at the very end made me jump! That one I heard a while ago on a Civvie 11 video, the Hexen one I think, and for a moment mi brain went "Oh God! Is Civvie joining Second Wind?".

I'm happy for you guys and wish you all the best.

Good luck you guys. You guys are proof that passionate artist dont need idiots in suits to succeed

Very happy for everyone

Crisis often breeds opportunity, and you guys seem to be grasping that with both hands. Super excited to see what you all do with Second Wind! But please make sure you look after yourselves and get some sleep :)

Was occupied in a DnD session during the stream, Really loving the vibe with the team now, new channel new you ❤️

So glad most of the team is still involved.

You're not getting rid of us that easy. You'll take my money whether you like it or not!

I appreciate what you guys bring. Lets make this happen, not just as a group, but as a family.

Big Man Nick! 👑

Looking forward to follow your new adventures! Take your time, get some sleep (looking at you Nick) and feel safe knowing you have our undying support!

I'm so excited for this!

Good luck boys and girls

I was wondering if it's possible to support the patreon for a dollar a month without getting any benefits? Call me stingy, I can afford to support my favorite creators for a dollar a month each, but not 3 or 5 or something like that (I can't choose either lol).

Now go get some sleep Nick

Can't wait to get the new shirt!

The reason for all of this support and love is due to how must hard work and love you put in to the Escapist. We want to thank you and support you all in this new venture. We love the content you all put out and look forwards to watching and reading more.

Gogogo! We're all with ya all the way! :D

Get some rest Nick. We have your back, your team is at your side. All you have to do is keep going forward. We’ll need you rested to lead.

Deservedly so!!

So excited for this - it was a great introduction video, now get some sleep, Nick <3

Have you considered Gumroad as an patreon alternative? Keeping all eggs in the same basket and all that.

So happy to see all this, I hope so many others follow your example.

Going indie was the best decision we could have made. Glad to be part of this new project. Keep making great content 🤙

5 bucks on the old switched to 50 on the new. Keep the transparency up, lets make sure everyone makes rent throughout the transition.

Good on you to react this fast. You have the knowhow to pull this off!

Looking forward to what comes next! Gonna help you guys keep the lights on as long as I can!

Best of luck to all of you guys!

I'm amazed at how quickly you guys have pulled together what you have - really speaks to the quality of the team and the passion you have, both for third work and for each other. Really looking forward to seeing where the channel goes in the future, and excited to be getting in on the ground floor!

Godspeed, y'all. Excited to see what comes next for this new chapter.

Big love to all the crew. So excited to be here for what's to come!

I'm so excited to be on the ground floor of this new chapter. This whole situation is inspiring and truly beautiful. This second wind is going to be a hurricane.

Really happy to support you all, excited to see you on your new adventure

As anxiety-inducing as recent events have been, I’m excited for you guys and hope the transition is as smooth as reasonably possible.

Good Luck and Good Fortune (hopefully)

Thanks for what you guys are doing. It sucks it went down the way it did but i think itll end up great for ya.

Love that you all are sticking together, looking forward to seeing the amazing content you all will create. I know it’s scary, but y’all got this, and the community is behind you.
