Great script Nick, and excellent delivery too. Your VA work has certainly improved 馃帀馃帀
Appreciate! Helps to be making videos every week to keep improving.
This all distracts from the critical question: how well are the puddles rendered, and can we trust that they will be retained in the final release?
We鈥檇 all benefit if we could collectively delete ourselves from X, TikTok, and a few others. But for many people, especially young people, social media is the only way they know not to feel alone in the world. In that way these platforms have made people addicted and dependent on them, forced to ingest the constant outrage. People who even barely play games at all are whipped up into a frenzy at all times over the latest nonsense. It鈥檚 a cancer, and should be treated as such, but we live in a climate where truly harmful things like gambling are being broadly legalized and everyone is acting like it鈥檚 totally cool and normal. It isn鈥檛. People need to be protected from predators.
I was going to comment something vacuous like "the internet really has turned into a cesspit, hasn't it?" but that just makes the point that there are people who post things worth reading/watching and people who just repeat shit to say something because the platforms let them.
I understand more than half the traffic on the internet are bots so trying to reason with some commenters is even more useless.
Being real here. You're absolutely correct that moderation of comments is needed far more broadly than has ever been implemented on social media. I've had a few of my own removed and for good reason. I didn't think before posting and it was the right thing to do. Keep up the good work.
News Feed Eradicator has been a godsend for the past 10 years of my online life
I eventually got tired of all the outrage and started going back to using my web browser with extensions to block it out. People are free to say what they like, but people are also free to not listen. My advice for anybody also tired of chronic outrage, use web browsers with extensions instead of apps. These usually give you far more control in what you want to see meanwhile most algorithms are just tailored to serve you what gets the most clicks, which is usually outrage.
Great episode! Glad you all are in business!
"drama merchants" -- great phrase. When the outrage "noise" is constant, it becomes much harder to identify and bring attention to the things we truly should be concerned about (especially, as you said, out of control pay of executives amid layoffs).
Thank you馃А
