I鈥檓 broadly the same with reparations. My take is that you should have to have been alive when the bad thing happened in order to be entitled to reparations. If you weren鈥檛 then you weren鈥檛 the one harmed. Your ancestors were.
That鈥檚 ignoring that the harm done negatively impacted the people鈥檚 future, and thus their children too. There is a limit somewhere, but generally we should (as nations) help repair the damage caused by past actions (of our nations). There is a limit of course, nations and people change, and the direct impact lessens over time.
