Great new series from Second Wind! Looking forward to more like this.
Incredible piece, we were never a Playstation family til like the ps4 so I had never legit even heard of this show. Yeah wow. Didn't really need another reason to despise reality TV but here we are.
I remember seeing ads for The Tester when I was first getting into gaming during the PS3 era, it fell into that weird era in the early 10s where dude bros tried to make gaming "cool" by having attractive women walk around conventions and talk to people in costumes. Previously mentioned objectification comments reminded me of the attitude the series Attack of the Show had when it was on G4, which also made me uncomfortable. It's good to hear that the winners have successful careers in game development though, something good coming out of such an odd period in gaming makes this less awkward to have to acknowledge imo
Great work as always Jenna! Game Arcadia is definitely top tier content on this channel, always look forward to it.
Seconded, this has been a terrific new series. Immediate drop what I’m doing and watch whenever a new episode shows up on the feed. Never heard of The Tester, and it’s a fascinating cultural artefact that’s almost grotesquely surreal.
