Excellent work Jess. Your review grabbed my attention back in 2024, then was thrilled to see it come to GamePass and I suspended playing other games until I finished it. Loved it - I went slow and tried to drink as much of the world in as I could. The devs journey was interesting to learn about and it makes me excited to see what SV produces next. My experiences with dramatic types at Uni echo the sentiments by both yourself and Remy - out of chaos within restriction comes something unique. Thanks again 馃憦馃徎馃憦馃徎
An amazing game and hopefully his ideas and approach will be used by other game studios as well
This freaking game. I honestly kinda didn't like it (complementary) because of how anxious and sad it made me feel. All the issues Iris had about communicating just got amplified and she never got a chance to grow up and get better, and her mind and society got frozen in that time and everyone is suffering and watcher dies and ugh. Great game, more people need to play it, but it was so bitter sometimes.
I feel like I'm of two minds, the narrative only of Disco Elysium and the deconstruction of gameplay through narrative of Spec Ops the line One is a literal choose your own adventure that evolves the format to new heights Whereas the other tears down the tropes and gameplay of a genre in a way that (sometimes literally) holds a mirror to the player and asks you if you're ok with decisions being made outside of your control
Planning to play this one soon as it's now on PS5!
