50% of all venture capital funds for 2025 went into AI. It’s depressing how many good ideas went unsupported to fund this slop. But also, I think it probably puts a lot of pressure on companies to at least feign interest in using AI, lest they be locked out of funding.

Yes, they want to protect their IP, but if they push too hard they will be blocked from filling their own trough with AI swill...

That Unity guy being high on his own farts, thinking they will be able to make money with AI. "Generate high-quality experiences." Sure, dude. Sure.

If AAA starts using AI to produce games consistently then we will need to arrange a nice little boycott, the only vote that actually counts is the one you make with your dollar. It's starting to feel like Indie is the future of gaming, which maybe it always was.

I want a philosophers stone. The power to transform anything into anything else. These models can be used transformatively too, and to extrapolate from the data. It all just needs to be in hands of humans using them creatively, and so I see it as a net benefit for everyone. Especially as these models get open source, and we gain more features and control on the result. More art and people creating is only a good thing, no matter the tools they use.

I'd bet anything that the reason companies like Nintendo, companies that don't openly use AI in their production, aren't suing over this because the companies that are pushing this have more money than everyone else. Nintendo is a big company but let's be real, Google is bigger than they are.

Look, copyright sucks so I’m fine with AI “stealing” from people. Just be consistent about it, please. You can’t make it so it’s ok for AI to do it but not people do it. That’s just not fair.

I disagree that copyright sucks, when used for the actual intent of allowing creators to profit from their creations. It is the corporate ownership of so many copyrights that sucks.
