In any game where equipment changes your appearance, you must try each item at least once, even though you have no intention of changing the outfit you picked out already.
This is especially true when equipment has no effect on gameplay, such as clothing in Saints Row or GTA.
Describe an open world game to someone using the phrase ‘Ubisoft Sandbox’ and watch disappointment wash over their face.
Teabagging has a descendant in Splatoon with Squidbagging, rapidly switching to squid/octopus form after a splat, or victory in PvE. There's variants, as squirming around as a little cartoon cephalopod is, as one might expect, inherently hilarious.

Exactly. When starting a side scrolling level, Always Backtrack First.
When you have or gain immunity to fall damage, immediately set out to find the longest possible drop in the game to eagerly abuse it with.
Leaning forward when you lock in.
When the ending of a game depends largely on a single decision towards the end (i.e. Mass Effect 3) you must save right before the decision and then go back to witness all possible endings.

I can't reinstall Skyrim, never uninstalled it. Skyrim, and Cyberpunk 2077, are always ready to play anytime I feel like going back to something comfortable.
When starting a 3D platformer and are able to move around, players will always use the first space to run around in circles, jump, crouch, slide, wall jump, etc to get a feel for movement. Other gamer culture traditions things might include getting DOOM to run on something, phrases like "Can it run Crysis?" and "The Cake is a Lie"
Glitch sharing. Whenever you talk about games to other players, you either discuss the ones that were obvious (ex. Bethesda games ((Looking at you Skyrim horse. Have you bothered to land yet?)) Or, speculate on ones that might not have been a glitch at all.
How about taking the character back to their home / base / cool resting area before exiting a big open world game for the very last time? Eg - I left Geralt in Corvo Bianco, Link in Rito Village, the Dragonborn in the College of Winterfell, V in her apartment with Judy
Alternate tradition #9: Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines (original). There, now at least one person has re-installed that game.
Crouch spamming to show friendliness is an ollddd one
However, crouch spamming on a freshly killed enemy is a universal sign of pwnage, hehehe
Skyrim reinstalled 🫡

You have to check behind waterfalls in video games for treasure, either to be nonplussed that they put something there, or annoyed that there’s nothing.
Corollary: Check fireplaces for hidden treasure out tunnels.
