The QOL updates do sound nice. I bought both of the Yooka Laylee games for £10 and liked them well-enough, but just stopped playing halfway through the first for some reason.

I was trying to remember why I bounced off the original, and then you showed one of the mine cart sequences at the end and it hit me. :)

I'm dumb. I might've watched this review real late during night hours and didn't get that KC's last lines in the review meant that it's worth a look for those who were there in 2017, but probably much more so if your brain consists of 3D platforming collectathons (hi there!) and are new to the game, probably stayed away from the original release because of the complaints about it feeling so mechanically archaic with a boost in visuals and performance to boot, along with QoL features Sorry, guys, I messed up. I don't want to delete the comment, though; you know how the algorithm loves drama
