For some one who as been around addictive personalities this hit soooo hard. Nicely done Sir, nicely done
You've commented in the past about how your voice/tone is boring Nick, but I could feel the natural emotion in your delivery of the script in this video. It was gripping, helped by the excellent editing and choice of music, and it was the fact that I'm sure all us gamers have been caught in a masochistic gameplay loop at one point or another and know that very same self-imposed frustration. Thanks for a memorable video my man. Are you aware of the Buddhist concept of 'Dukkha'? I'm not trying to convert you - I just remember one of my old teachers sighing and saying "... oh, dukkah" when mishaps happened, accepting life is full of suffering, recognising it, and moving past it.
Nick, are you OK? Make your cartoon blink twice if you need help!
I also have been playing this since it came out. Got out...but working toward ascension. I think I got up to trying to get like 5.6e17 and dying at one point. It's definitely got "damned soul who ruined a lot of lives by gambling too much and having the addiction destroy their whole mindset" vibes all over. I really like this game's subversive themes.
Sounds like this game could use a sanity meter, as that... wow. Also I was going to try this and I think... not, now, I escapted Balatro and I don't know if I even liked THAT game.
"Do I even like this game?" - That is a good question sometimes, especially when "Well, not really right now, I've just continued playing" is a valid answer but "Well I'd like to do it again now" is also okay. FTL or Terra Nil for example are on and off games for me but it's important to notice the off moments in time.
Really enjoyed this - more please.
I liked how existential this one got! Too real, Nick, too real lol
