I never wanted to be a CEO or anything like that. With big power comes big responsibility and the stress would crush me. I guess that says something about what kind of person (or attitude) it takes to thrive in such positions. It always makes me wonder if we would have to deal with this kind of mess if we developed at a slower pace - if the evolution of our brains gave them the time to adapt to having this much power, instead of doing the equivalent of giving a loaded gun to a toddler. Maybe we would have created a society that values responsibility and the long-term prosperity of the collective, instead of one where psychopaths, sociopaths, and narcissists can abuse our caveman instincts to secure personal gains at a disproportionate costs to literally the entire world without a shred of remorse.

My brain is blown! We've got no imagination! They told us which jobs were at threat from AI and none of us questioned that! It's the executives and CEOs who can be replaced by a formula! Frost, you nailed it!

There have been a couple of studies showing executive salary doesn't correlate to company performance. Those salaries increase because the execs are chosen from a shallow pool (the "experience needed" conundrum) and the boards who set the salaries don't really care about the price paid because they are ultimately not the ones paying the bill. And so we get execs who supervised massive losses getting paid golden parachutes in the tens of millions of dollars.

So there is no doubt in this video it is your voice and not AI 😀… although the face cam was ok I actually missed some of the illustrative graphics that you’ve used in previous videos perhaps you could either switch between them or put your face in a box talking over the illustrations? I saw the new black ops was priced at £70, £70 fucking pounds. £100 for the dlc included. I was actually flabbergasted. I know Microsoft is a small indie company but fuck me that is agregious.

It's weird how companies control the budget and price of their games and complain they're not making enough. Sounds like someone sucks at business and should be fired for budgeting and pricing their products horribly. But who would be in charge of so many games and studios doing that? Who would be the people in charge of that happening over and over again, regardless of the game, team, or studio involved? Golly, it might just be someone really high up the chain.

Didn't they already game prices from $60 to $70?

Eh. Do we need publishers? I won't be sad to see Ubisoft go purely MMO. Go ahead, please sell off Prince of Persia, Trials, and Far Cry. You know what? Mobile platforms are getting impressive. Let's see what we can do with a SoC as a benchmark. Raspberry, Orange. Banana, whatever flavor Pi. Not a console per se, but a common standard indies can pick to run on and optimize on.
