AUG UPDATE 1 WRITHES OUT OF THE DARK
THE ANTS ARE COMING TO GETCHHHA! PLEASE welcome the biggest single update for EGGOMON ever. There are, literally too many small changes and improvements to list. So instead I’ll cover the main attraction:
Challenge the new Ant Hive, populated by the first wave of the ANT TRIBE. It has new loot, normal loot, and a short exit between the Dark forest and open plains. Monsters you fight may now be commanded by a LEADER who confers upon them IMPROVED A.I. No more random selecting from their optional attacks. These guys know if your scout is mounted, of their own party is buffed, if they have TYPE advantage, to always use their strongest attacks, and just how fucked you are if you are a new player without powerful saved mons. But don’t worry, because though monsters might have leaders, you have a new way to win: BREEDING THE OPPONENT. The enemy ant leader is vulnerable to being bred by all your monsters... ALL of them, just like if she were a scout. Naturally, you win instantly if she is impregnated. The Ant Leader, and the scouts, are now also very fertile for monster types that would have SUPER EFFECTIVE advantage against them. There's over six new ANT monsters and a new map! For the time being there's an ant hive displaced into the starting zone, so you can run in and find all the bugs (and bugs). You may also start with a Grubbly, and a Capyro for this patch!
The patch brings a host of little improvements, and no shortage of bugs (pun (but also serious)). Lots of things are still being resized or moved to fit the new resolution, you can see the player has an updated tracker to how many turns until they are at risk of being bred... Meanwhile GRUBBLY is a unique unevolved mon, who randomly evolves into one of the available ant forms. This also paves the way for monsters evolving into different forms based on the STONE they are exposed to or randomly evolving.
Things that didn't get added were this: I intend you to get EGGS from successfully breeding the enemy leader, and otherwise nothing. For now enjoy Grubbly as a normal recruit reward. In the future getting the monsters of a monster tribe will require you to impregnate their squad leaders. I will also be redoing the stables and adding DNA points which will be the secondary path to upgrading your mon. The entire method of breeding monsters for strength needs to be overhauled and made more intuitive in the upcoming stables and LAB. The basic plan is this: Monsters always benefit from fruit. Perfect DNA and beneficial ancestry will still need to be BRED intentionally through many many tries, but you can extract it from some monsters and GRAFT it onto others. Using this planned system will require DNA points
The current roadmap is: FIX BUGS > POLISH up battle and xanims > fix defeating leaders to give you an egg > Finish the next zone: Firefly Marsh... Bang out the needed monsters and shinies when I am in the mood, which not to worry, is pretty damn often.
The best possible news is that this very coding intensive, long ass update, lays 90% of the groundwork for enemy trainers. And opens the doors to adding new monster leaders easily. When something has been implemented once in a game, doing it again becomes easy. Hence all the new world mons for the new map. They just use the behaviors of existing world mons, and I just need to whip up some mini sprites for them.
ADDED Area: Ant Hive: Dozens of new map assets, new chest type, new loot
ADDED World Monsters: Formiair might pursue you in the new ant hive as a SEEKER type, while Forimum, Formiarrior, and Formiarch PATROL the hive...
ADDED Monster: Grubbly, a unique unevolved mon who randomly evolves into one of the ants
ADDED Monsters: Forminion, Formiair, Forminectar, Formiamum, Formisneak, Formiarrior, Formiarch. These monsters are BUG type but have moves pulled from a variety of other types, making them more interesting to fight against, and to field.
ADDED: You can now have your monster mount an enemy leader, if there is an enemy leader present.
Added Leaders: Not quite a trainer, they improve wild monster encounters. The first ever monster leader is the Formiarch, and she leads teams of ants into battle. She will ensure her team gets buffs while pummeling you with the strongest moves she can and ensuring you're mounted. She is leading BUGS wit ovipositors... So pop contraceptives or win fast. Win the battle early by breeding the enemy Monster Leader, as a bug type she is weak to, and fertile towards, WIND and FIRE monsters...
COMING: Better rewards for winning battles by Xing out the Opfor. DNA points!
Alter: Punch Damage 20 -> 30
As well as: Lots of tweaking, consolidating, cleaning up off and additions to the code.
Fixed: Further fixed the battle animation displacing the sprites on the screen
Fixed: Further removed unnecessary text that was floating around after node changes and resolution alterations.
Fixed: The Egg spamming bug, I think.
Fixed: When evolving unevolved monsters now properly remember they ate the bod bod and gar gar fruits.
Super niche bug that went mostly unnoticed
KNOWN BUGS: ((You can lose+win a battle simultaneously by suffering a loss to a DOT while being impregnated? Super rare occurrence and may not lock the game so idk)) ((Enemy has their hp reset randomly or atk does no dmg randomly?)) ((Time speeds randomly? Warping?)) ((Dot and Roxy the scout looks weird and bugged when walking to the side))
OPINIONS: Abloom underwhelming x2. Protect worse than confusion in all instances x3. Normal feels weak x1
(opinions are when people say something smart, I need to start listing when I hear specific gripes and suggestions from supporters)

For some reason the game window is way bigger than my screen. even when I turned off full screen, I can't reduce the size.
Yeah, normal type, unfortunately feels pretty much useless. I don't think "Milk tank" ability even does anything.
So i dont understand , i hatched a shiny trydamind and i saved it , evolved it , upgraded it , but when i did 1 day so it can safe , i did exit run , entered back and shiny is gone , just normal even though it hatched as shiny. can you please fix shiny save
Wierd I will check this, it should save its shiny status. Thankfully there are paintbrushes to make your mon shiny again in the future.
Theres a bug when you get game over but also win the match , you can choose the reward as in grubby , shows no problems , start a encounter it does instant game over scene , gets you back to select and it spawns you in a void realm after selecting another character lol
Dang Okay I will look into this. Are you sure it was a void realm and you werent wildly off map? I guess Ill take your word for it
well this is very interesting honestly cannot wait to play it and see how different it is from previous versions and the enemy leader/trainer honestly looks awesome.
