The voice actor for Tenzin (named after Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama...notice the names...), is J.K. Simmons, who played J. Jonah Jameson in most of the Spider Man live action movies. Republic City is like the US in the 1920s or 1930s. Love that y'all are watching this, and I'm finally getting into watching these reactions :)
Yess we love JK Simmons! He’s also the voice actor of Omniman in Invincible (another series we react to also). His voice is so powerful! Can’t wait to watch LoK with y’all! ❤️😊
So here’s some answers to questions you had that aren’t given in the show: According to the wiki Korra is 17 in Book 1. Also Katara is 85, Tenzin is 51, Pema is 35, Jinora is 10, Ikki is 7, Meelo is 5, and Lin is 50. Iirc Oogi looks a bit different from Appa (brown ears instead of white, more stripes along the back and tail) because he’s a different breed of flying bison, descended from a wild herd Aang found at some point after the war. If you remember way back in The Library episode the professor asks Appa if he’s the last of his breed, so to me that implies there are different breeds. Also, while we know where Kya and Bumi’s names come from, Tenzin has a significant name as well. He’s named after the current Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso.
Oh wow!! Pema is young. Thank you for the insights! I always wondered why Oogi looked so different.
I remember being GLUED to this show when it was airing. I agree with Meesh, I’m shockingly liking Korra more than ATLA as I’ve been rewatching it. The music (so happy to see you point it out)! The action!! The complex issues!! Such big things to keep engagement and excitement. I seriously have the soundtrack on my phone and it’s been playing constantly. Glad to see you finally get to this show. Its been a great rewatch. Can’t wait to see more !
Ughhh yes!! Exactly ❤️🥹 can’t wait to hear your thoughts on future episodes 😍
Yesss 🙌!! Oh this is going to be so much fun 😄. I’m so excited to rewatch this with you guys. Let’s go 💃
Let’s go! ✨😍
dee being the first reactor to recognize that's katara in that scene 😭 everyone always takes so long to realize it
She’s on top of it 😭 -M
I love how the animators weren't afraid to show off Korra's muscularity. Very rare for female animated characters. This season is so good and my favorite character doesn't even show up until ep 4.
Dont know by now how many times i have rewatched ATLA and Korra. But never gets old
Wait why are Meesh and I the same person? Because I also think that ATLA is the better show but for whatever reason I like LOK a little bit more. Also, while I wasn’t an LOK hater when it came out, I did kind of forget to finish the show about halfway through Book 2 (and I literally stopped right before THOSE two episodes) and only picked it back up when I heard about the series finale.
Yes you feel me! Something about Korra just resonates with me more. I love korra’s emotional journey. I did hear a lot of people stop watching in season 2 because it was the weakest season. (Not saying it was your reason) But love how you picked it up again when you heard about the series finale 😂
Awesome ! , I'm so happy y'all have started The Legend of Korra I'm on Season 3 and this whole show is so good y'all are gonna love it 😊🙌
You are so fast!! 🤭 I love it! So excited that you’ll be joining us on our korra journey. ✨-M
