I have much to say on the subject of Steven, Goldie and Joe, but will have to wait for a couple of episodes 🤐

I also definitely lean more towards Meesh’s opinion on Joe just actually being the worse one lowk like I still can’t fathom the fact that he did that to his wife who was taking care of their baby while also taking care of her sick mom like that is just a very sick thing to do to like anyone let alone your wife

When it comes to Steven, I agree with Dee that I think the reason he angered me so much was because of how controlling he seems as a person. I really didn't like in his fight with Joe how he blamed everything on her moving back here "and going crazy". He had to know that Goldie was falling out of love with him. He even said himself that before they got news of Annie and Connor that they were separated, so obviously they were having problems in their relationship before Joe. Now Goldie and Joe having an affair before Goldie and Steven could resolve their problems fucked everything up. I think Joe is a coward and just a really self-centered person that thinks he's protecting others but really just trying to make himself look like a good person. Both Joe and Steven lied to their loved ones for so long about something so vital to their emotional and interpersonal relationship development and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Also, Denise can fuck off. It was Steven's and Joe's responsibility to communicate with Ramona. Not Annie, not Ellis and for sure as hell not Denise. She has nothing to do with any of the relationships happening and needs to know her place.

Meesh, I agree with you 💯 💯💯 I think everyone seems to forget that the mom had an affair/fell in love with someone else which ultimately left Steven alone with the twins they adopted together—just for the mom to up and leave him for another man, in another country, while being pregnant with his child. Like, what did she expect from Steven? What would anyone do in that situation? If your wife was trying to take your kids away to live with her new lover/baby daddy in a different country? Yes Steven made a lot of terrible mistakes (out of anger pain and resentment) that can’t be undone (such as keeping all of those secrets from Connor and Annie esp Ramona) bc now Annie feels like she missed out on so many memories she could’ve had by having a sister when in reality even if he would’ve told them about Ramona, it still wouldn’t have been as picture perfect as those two think it would’ve been in their minds. The way they met and found out was ugly af but I actually think they might’ve met at the most perfect time in their lives— when they needed each other the most and that to me is what made their reunion and relationship as beautiful and special as it is. IMO, Joe is the worst out of everyone. He’s such a coward. He cheated on his pregnant wife while she was off taking care of her sick mother. He only chose her bc his mistress died while giving birth to his kid. He sees his kid struggling ALONE everyday, without any parents, and he still isn’t man enough to tell her he’s her father. He’s the worst kind of coward there is…then has the nerve to taunt Steven and criticize what kind of father he is, criticizes Annie on being “a bad influence on Ramona” he blames criticizes and punishes everyone but himself! I have to mention something that crossed my mind during the period scene/conversations— Isn’t weird that we all say to children/little girls who started their periods that “they are a woman now” like WUT??? I got my period in the 5th grade which made me like 10 years old. So, why are we telling our kids at 8,9,10,11,12 years old that they are women just bc they started their periods? It’s so weird and just another reminder of how much unnecessary pressure and expectations is put on young girls just for being females. Lastly, if you’re still with me lol this show is just doing a fantastic job and capturing the essence of such a messy, chaotic, real life situation. One that teaches us life isn’t black and white, it’s often full of GRAY! There’s not just one villain here to blame like in most shows…Annie in stuck in a love triangle with two seemingly genuinely good kind hearted young men who differ in so many ways but like her and treat her just the same..with love and respect. We are used to there being a villain (I just knew Rory was going to do something horrible and be the bad guy) but just like her mother, Annie is gonna have to choose btw two guys who love her. I like Ellis but to put it bluntly, I think he’s just a little too boring for Annie. He’s the safest choice, but Annie has proven she wants and needs a little fun and spark in her life which imo is exactly what Rory gives her…but does he give her too much craziness/unpredictability in her life? That’s the question. This show gives us so many different perspectives and it shows adults fuck up too. That’s what makes it so great man. You just gotta go with the flow here and see where the chaos takes us. Life is crazy like that sometimes. Loved your reactions as usual. See yall on the GL side 😆
