Tbh I think it would have made more sense if Wine had said in the meeting that Lal had feelings for her and Wine shot her down. It would be super plausible given Lal's crying, and there's no company rule about one sided feelings, just romantic relationships. She could have said the kiss was a one time thing and then she rejected Lal later. Would have made a bit more sense than the story she went with, but I guess it worked out? šŸ˜… I hear what you're saying about the two of them being so different, and the opposites attract thing. The best way I've ever heard it put is like this; you don't need to have shared *interests*, and you don't even need to have similar personalities. The most important thing to make a relationship to work is to have shared *values*. For example, if one of you believes that your career is the most important thing in your life, but the other thinks family is more important, it doesn't matter how many hobbies you have in common, whether you're both neat freaks, or whether you both wear the same size shoes. Ultimately it almost certainly won't work, because you're not aiming for the same goals. That's why Lal and Wine's relationship works even though they're so different. Both of them value doing the right thing and taking care of others more than anything. They go about it in VERY different ways, but that is what their love is built on. And the best GL couples work on similar principles. Mon and Sam both believe in honouring their parents/grandma above their own desires, Claire and Bell would both sacrifice their bodily health/freedom before they'd let the person they love get hurt, Pam and Rak sacrifice wealth/career to follow their hearts (rak gives up her rich family, Pam puts school on hold). And with Lal and Wine would give up both love AND career in order to do the right thing. It's beautiful to see that written into a show. It really gives the conflict depth and realism to have two characters who are so different, but ultimately see the world through the same lens 🄹

This series is really well made.Aside fr giving Korn too much screen time (which I understand because it makes you hate him more & it is needed for the other scenes to work) I enjoy every scenes that they changed or added to the novel specially since in this series we get to see Wine taking the power back fr Korn because in the novel Korn is the representative of one of Lal's customers (which is Wine's old company if I'm right) that asked her to give him sexual pleasure for him to accept her proposal, which Lal used to get him fired as a revenge for what he did to Wine. What I love the most in the novel though is that we as the readers can know about the characters thoughts which is hard to depict in a series unless they do film it like how they did in Muteluv:Hello is this luck.

No wonder it took time for GMMTV to clear this RV šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ GMMTV belike what to you mean She got to open her wall DeešŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ kidding aside, as always i really love the outro and commentary, i thought the boba thief was P JantrašŸ˜…šŸ˜… but dang it was Medsai and she already give hint on the 1st epi Hide and sis reference. Everytime i watch this epi when Jantra singing Pluto ost and seeing Kapook face my poor baby😭😭 they make her dirty on that series. I must say we have same reaction when we heard Korn singing, we need this man to shup upšŸ˜‚šŸ˜… its from Hide and Sis ost. Pluto, Hide and sis and EWB same director and production that's why they use the ost from other series. Can't wait for the finale. Oh man both Fire and EWB gonna end😭😭

I too love the layers in this episode. I also personally love the boardroom scene. While it is sad, it is also very powerful. It is the first time Wine takes a stand against her abuser (Korn) and shows him that he no longer holds power over her. Yes Wine said some very harsh things but if you look closely her actions say a completely different story. Korn highjacked the meeting and made sure his case against Lal and Wine was presented before Lal could expose him. The VP also allowed for Korn's case to take precedence. I think Wine knew Korn was going to play this card in order to try and stop Lan from exposing him, so she had to make it believable that they are not romantically involved which would likely be very difficult if Lal knew the plan before hand. I think Korn wanted to discredit them and taint their characters in order to control the narrative, which is why I think Wine needed to guarantee that the company would take Korn's case seriously. If the company just assumed they were being dramatic and trying to take Korn down in order to deflect from and or in retaliation for the case Korn brought against them for dating, then Korn's case might not be taken seriously just like the harassment case Wine had lost against Korn back at their old company. Also, Korn touted that he has gotten away with similar things many times and Wine knows first hand that he has gotten away with things before by playing the innocent victim card. Wine played this push back so beautifully by having HR reiterate the company's policy and forcing the company to apply the same scrutiny to Korn's case that they are planning to take with Lal and Wine's case. This means they can't play fast and loose with the rules by playing favorites especially because Korn holds more power and authority since he is the general manager. Also, I think is important to note that Wine knows Lal has more to lose than her. She knows Lal financially supports her mom and brother and that her team needs her. So Wine chooses to sacrifice her own career. Which is no small thing if you consider how important Wine's job was to her at the beginning of the series. Wine has grown alot more than people often give her credit for. She didn't take risks when she was in the talking phase with New. She ended it right away with New but with Lal, she continously takes risks that she has never done with anyone else. I know she still has room to grow but being with Lal is literally the first time she has ever felt safe. She doesn't feel safe with anyone not even her own mom until she meets Lan. Now that she has experienced safety and love for the first time she is finally choosing to fight. Maybe not in the way others might choose to but she is fighting none the less. I only wish Lal didnt have to be hurt in the process of taking down Korn.

The penultimate episode starts with a four-minute montage of Lal and Wine getting to their respective homes, remembering their relationship while uncontrollably sobbing. After the credits, Lal arrives at work, where Bas and Numnim already wait for her having completed the information about Korn’s collusion, it turns out that his sister is the wife of the disabled person who was in an accident two years before, and apparently his sister helped Korn making money from the business. Lal falls down in the hallway being startled by Wine. Then, Jantra claims that Nan wants to see her – in the meeting room, where Bas, Numnim and Lal are joined by Korn. Nan mentions the conflict-of-interest policy the company uses – and asks Lal if she is in a relationship with Wine, because she received a report that they are. Jantra tells her to just tell the truth, and Nan tells Bas and Numnim to wait outside, while Lal claims that is not why she asked to meet with her that day, as she wanted to discuss Korn’s corruption, but Korn claims she made the story up, because he found out their secret, and claims he has been hard on her in meeting, so maybe she has grown to resent him, and she must be under a lot of stress due to several long-time client having recently cancelled their contracts. But he never imagined she’d try to bring him down like this. Wine enters the room at this point, and we get another flashback on Korn and Wine at the restaurant, where Korn accused her ā€œgirlfriendā€ of digging into his business, and mandated her to make her stop, or he would release the CCTV photos of them kissing. She failed to record him saying something incriminating, and he claims to have gotten away with it once before – which triggers a flashback-in-a-flashback of their time at the previous company. He claims the world belongs to the winners, and the smarter person will always come out on top. He argues that their fate is in his hands. And he closes by saying that he anyways thought she didn’t like him because she had bad taste, but the real reason is this. And he gives her a warning: if she wants to keep the relationship going, do her job and stay out of his business. And he promised not to lay a finger on Lal if she does that. Nan wants Bas and Numnim to wait outside, but Wine claims there is no need, and she has nothing to hide. Nan wants both of them to tell the truth before this proceeds to a formal investigation. Jantra wants to follow the proper procedure and appoint an investigation committee, but Nan won’t listen to her. She asks Lal and Wine point-blank if they are in an inappropriate relationship – but Wine denies it, and claims that they are not dating. Nan wants to know if she is sure and tells her that they don’t accuse people without evidence, but Wine wants to see that evidence. Nan shows the CCTV footage, and Wine admit that they were kissing but denies that they are in a relationship. And there were no feelings involved. Nan claims if Wine wants to lie she should at least lie convincingly, but Wine argues that people can kiss whomever they want, it doesn’t have to mean anything, and asks Nan if that never happened to her, and guesses sarcastically that it probably hasn’t. She has never seen Lal as more than a coworker, and told her that directly. She asks Lal to confirm it, and Lal agrees. Wine then claims she doesn’t have feelings for her, so how could they possibly be dating. She claims that Lal and her only talk about work, and she claims to know nothing about her personal life and she knows nothing about hers – and she show inserts a montage showing this is a lie. She claims they don’t have any relationship beyond work, and admits she doesn’t even like her, claiming she always makes mistakes and creates problems that she has to clean up. She yet she is always smiling like nothing ever happened, and just seeing her face annoys her. So, how could she possibly date her. But she understands her actions have given people reason to doubt her – so she will take responsibility by resigning. Nan finds this a little contradictory, but Wine won’t let anyone use this accusation as a weapon to stop Lal from doing what she needs to do. Nan argues the allegations won’t end with her resigning, she will establish an investigation committee to see this case through to the very end, but Wine welcomes it – and tells Jantra to repeat the company’s conflict of interest policy. Jantra recites that the company’s vendors and business partners must not be in romantic or marital relationships with the company’s employees or executives, as this may create a conflict of interest or allow personal interests. Wine hopes that Korn’s case will be investigated under the same standards as Lal’s and hers because she believes that fairness and transparency are the most important principles any executive should uphold, and is standard practice at the global companies Nan worked for. She will submit her resignation that day, and tells her to call her in once this committee is formed. She then excuses herself, and Lal follows her. Outside, the calls Wine to ask her why she did that, why she resigned and why she didn’t tell her. Wine asks why should she, but Lal argues she is taking all the responsibility herself. But she asks her how many times she has to tell her that they are nothing to each other, and claims that she only taking responsibility for her own actions. Lal argues that she will resign, too, and Wine tells her to go ahead if she wants to let her emotions outweigh her responsibilities. She claims it has nothing to do with her, but feels sorry for her team, as they have trusted her and followed her through all of this. And she reminds her of her family which is still counting on her. And she recommends – as a fellow team leader – to think a little more about the people standing behind her before making a decision. And Lal cries as Wine leaves. Lal returns to the meeting room where Nan has asked for a break, and Lal apologizes to Bas and Numnim for having to witness all of this. But Numnim just hugs her and tells her she doesn’t have to apologize and carry everything by herself alone anymore. And Bas joins the hug, telling her it’s okay, and claims she still has the two of them. They may not be able to do much, but they will always be by her side, he claims. Proud calls Tangkwa in the hallway, asking if she is close with Numnim from sales and hands her a folder for her, claiming she will need it. Tangkwa is surprised about its contents, but Proud goes away after she gets a text without talking to her anymore. Wine breaks down crying at the company with Proud running over to her and consoling her with a hug which Tangkwa of course notices. The sales team has presented their evidence for Korn’s misconduct, they claim Korn has approved huge orders from this vendor causing serious overstock for product that weren’t selling well. And Lal remarks that they weren’t out to discredit anyone but had the company’s benefit in mind. Nan finds the report pretty bold – but calls it excellent work. She promises that management will investigate the facts as quickly as possible and set up an investigation committee according to company policy. She tells Lal to keep up this standard of work, and again praises them for the excellent job they’ve done. Bas and Numnim later are exhausted by the day’s events and have to thank Tangkwa for providing the accounting documents. Tangkwa then comes in to tell then this was actually Wine’s work, as she assigned Proud to gather everything. Bas asks if Wane already knew that they were investigating Korn, and Tangkwa thinks so. And there is something else that Accounting has been suspicious about: New must have had a companion who provided him with current information like prices just negotiated. Wine thinks whoever New’s insider is must be dying to get rid of Lal right now. So she initiated an investigation by Accounting, and hadn’t told Lal about it because she would just charge in without thinking and put herself in danger. Numnim is moved by Wine doing this all for Lal, but Bas wants her to stay strong. Lal gets a visit from Phakphum, who wants to open a bottle of Wine with her, but she only reluctantly lets him in. She is not in the mood for drinks, but he argues that he told her having a FWB is dangerous, and she shouldn’t have given away her heart if she wasn’t sure. And Lal admits he was right about everything as she starts to cry again, but she gave her heart to someone who never wanted it. She never thought she would fall this hard, and argues, if stopping herself from loving someone was easy, she would have done it a long time ago. Phakphum takes her is his arms and tells her it’s okay as she claims she just wants to stop loving her, to stop missing her. Phakphum claims that love is never easy, and she’s been with her for so long that she is of course attached to her, but one day it will get better one way or another. But Lal is selfish and she wishes that Wine would miss her even half as much and Lal misses her. Meanwhile, Wine is sitting with the pajamas Lal gifted her in episode 8, and is sobbing as much as Lal is as we get a flashback to the gifting scene and the admission af Lal’s feelings thereafter. Lal mopes at the printer which isn’t printing again. Wine wants to intervene but Medsai arrives first asking her if she printing from her phone, and Lal admits it, but claims her phone is acting up. Medsai tells her to just share the file with her and she will print it for her. Lal does it, and the document comes out of the printer. Medsai is glad to see Lal smiling again. Then, the print has another error, and Wine intervenes by asking whether she pressed the red button, and Lal claims she pressed the green one. Wine claims that’s the problem, and tells her to press the red button instead next time. Wine leaves, and Medsai asks her if she’s going to Wine farewell party that day, but Wine didn’t invite her. Medsai then asks Lal to go out with her instead. At the farewell party for Wine Jantra is singing karaoke (to the soundtrack of ā€œPlutoā€. Or all things 😊), but the mood is somber as neither Bas, nor Numnim or Tangkwa are in a party mood. Jantra wants them to enjoy themselves but Numnim is heartbroken inside, she claims, and hugs Wine as soon as she arrives, not wanting her to leave. Tangkwa just seems angry, as Numnim claims Wine’s strictness was the reason she turned out this way, and claims without her, she’d probably be still an airhead. Bas hands her a farewell gift. Then, Tangkwa comes over but is still mad at her for resigning without telling her. Wine apologizes, but claims she’s already capable enough and doesn’t need her; she claims to know she will do just fine. Tangkwa still wishes Wine would stay, and they hug. Bas tells Numnim to tell Lal to hurry up the get there, and she sends her voice message. But Korn arrives first at the farewell party, claims how could he miss it, and looks at Wine with a predatory smile. But Lal is somewhere else with Medsai and orders a wine. Medsai wants to know if she likes wine, and Lal claims to drink it sometimes, but she asks her again, this time directly: Does she like Wine? And Lal admits it. But Medsai thinks she doesn’t seem like her type, but that’s the thing, Lal claims, maybe she was just caught in the moment. Medsai takes Lal’s hand as she asks her whether she has moved on now. But Lal claims it her turn now, and asks her whether she likes – lying with a straight face. Korn sings karaoke, and Bas wonders what is thinker Korn’s face or Bangkok’s roads, which Korn hears, but Bas continues that his high notes sound amazing. Korn wants Bas to sing, he claims he can’t sing but Korn wants him to try anyway. Jantra wants to know why the hell Korn came, but Korn hears this as well, and Jantra excuses herself quickly to join Bas in playing karaoke. Numnim tells Lal to hurry because Korn is there, but she texts it to a group chat where Korn get the message as well, And she flees in panic, with Bas following her. šŸ˜‰ Jantra then requests Tangkwa as a replacement leaving Wina alone on the couch, and Korn doesn’t let this opportunity go to waste and sits beside her asking her if she thinks she can just get away that easily. Wine wants to know what he wants from her, and Korn claims Lal will still be working at the company, and he’s not letting her live in peace. Wine takes a big sip from a drink in front of her, and confirms she will definitely stay, but he probably won’t. Korn claims that she has no idea what he’s been through to get where he is, ha claims to have dealt with loudmouthed women plenty of times. Wine takes another sip, claiming she used to be scared of him, but now she keeps wondering why she ever was scared of him, and argues, he’s not scary at all – he’s just pathetic. She goes to the restroom to slash some water onto her face, but outside Korn abducts her – just as Lal tells Medsai to save her questions for the courtroom, because there’s no way she’s getting away with this. Medsai claims that Lal will get sued for making accusations like that, but Lal claims that the evidence is already in the hands of those who need to see it, and claims at first she had no idea it was her until Accounting sent over the fraud documents related to Korn. That’s when she found an invoice from the higher-priced vendor with incorrect dates. Accounting had to review the application form to approve the purchase request, but Wine would never let a mistake like that slip through, and indeed she never signed it, but her signature was forged. And Proud comes in to confirm the forgery. She was the helper for New as she has access to the relevant files as the Purchasing supervisor, and she was the one who told Korn about Wine and her just to get rid of both of them. And she saw Wine post about the spa on her phone as she was sharing files to print earlier that day. And we get a flashback of her ratting out Lal and Wine to Korn, and stealing Numnim’s bubble tea. Medsai wants to go claiming she can fight back, too, but Proud tells her to do it, and Lal remember telling her that the company was like a family in a TV drama, but she never thought that she would play the villain. Proud and Lal leave after that. Outside, Lal thanks Proud for helping her, but Proud was helping Wine, not her. Lal takes a call from Numnim, who claims Wine has disappeared, as has Korn. And Korn and Wine are driving with Korn claims she will soon enough find out where they are driving to – and we see a destination called ā€œLove Room Resort & Hotelā€ on his car computer. Wine want to flee and hits Korn, but he just hits her back and claims she likes using force. But Lal races towards them, and she parks her car right in front of Korn’s and gets out if the car. Korn want to run her over, but his drives assistance just stop the car before her can hit her. And that’s where episode nine ends. _____ This was a lot better than I expected it to be last week, as all threats are (about to be) dealt with. We found New’s mole, the bubble tea thief, and I suspect Korn is also close to getting fired. This mean we can return to the novel story after two episodes of amped-up drama to finish up the story of (non-)lovers Lal and Wine. It felt incredibly rushed to finish all the storylines in one episode, but we are already in episode nine. I just maintain that Lal and Wine were never enemies and only friends with benefits for a short time, and I look forward to them finally properly dating.

The boss isn't morally corrupt, she's just a hardass but she's fair both ways - it just comes across to us as an antagonist since she represents the company's policy and the policy is what holds Wine and Lal apart

Commentary is amazing as always. Been waiting all day for this. šŸ˜‚ The realistic messy corporate drama this show gives us is so good. It has so many layers, and I love that they actually took the time to address that. It seems unassuming at first, but there’s so much going on underneath. Janjingjing’s acting chops are amazing throughout. Meesh clocking Medsai at the start of the episode, and Dee just loving the messy tension between Lal and Medsai, has me CTFU. šŸ˜‚

James Seo Ā· August 26, 2026

Funnily enough, I was more mad that Medsai was the boba stealer than her actually committing the purchase order fraud. lol. this was another one of my favorite episodes in the series where we got to see both of our leads lock in and handle the bad apples in the company by the end. :) the other thing too i liked about Wine resigning and her telling Lal to look past the relationship and focus on their team members. If Lal resigned, she would be doing more harm than good to her team members. Tangkwa and Proud can operate successfully without Wine around so her resigning is less of a loss.. Whereas Numnim and Bas are more reliant on Lal so Lal resigning would basically be dooming her team to Korn's mercy or lack thereof since he would want to get rid of anyone (or at the very least heavily restrict them in some way) remotely tied to Lal and Wine. Even if Tangkwa and Proud were fired, they could easily find jobs elsewhere but I dont think Numnim and Bas have that level of experience (especially Numnim) to where they can easily go to another company.

I love when they played the Pluto OST (banger track btw), the director panned it to Kapook’s character who looked pissed as if she was upset for her other character in Pluto who was done dirty 🤣🤣. Justice for the officer who should’ve had a partner too (aka Oom)! This was my one (if not) favorite episode too. I love the twists and turns and all the emotional whiplash I had in this episode. And yes, Tesla and most electric cars have an auto-stop feature when pedestrians are near so this was the one time I was like thank god for Elon for that. Ngl, Lal was crazy for that too but ofc Korn is a psycho for even trying to run her over. Also Jamie aka Medsai is also a staple actress in Gmmtv so trust even if she is in a supporting role, her performance always packs a punch. I have a feeling we will be seeing more of her next year cause I’ve been seeing this girlie getting casted in upcoming shows from gls to bls so I’m glad she’s getting the recognition she deserves. 🫶 A good performance that has her and the rest of the other gl girlies from Gmmtv is ā€œHomeschoolā€ if you want to watch in your free time.

The song Korn is singing is the OST from the non-GL that Jan and Jingjing were in called Hide and Sis. Highly recommend watching it.
