As for Aunt Panee and why she is the way she isâI don't know if theyâll reveal the reason behind her behavior and why she is so protective of Fai. So, Iâll just say that, according to the book, Aunt Panee blames Faiâs father for the death of her sister (Faiâs mother).
Still waiting for the newly weds to show up⊠how far is Madeline anywayđ«
Theyâre on their third wedding honeymoon. Lom is definitely not in a hurry to return. đ
So the life saving from Kaphraos Dad was teased in episode one. right at the beginning they show a shooting scene
Yep. It was pretty clear in Episode 1 that Phrao's Dad died for Ak protecting him. But showing it this episode makes everything clear. Not sure why Ak couldn't have told everyone at the time that Phrao's Dad died protecting him and that's why he is taking care of her? Why keep it a secret all this time. Maybe Fai and even the aunt wouldn't have been as skeptical and upset about the whole situation if they knew the truth. It was a weird uneeded lie that cost 15 years of upset. I think Ak is ultimatley a good dude but he does some unnecessary things that cause upset to a lot of people, specifically his daughter and Phrao.
Just wondering Meesh&Dee, did you also watch the behind the scenes of all the episodes from all of 4 Elements? Idk if it's like, copyright or smtn. But if you didn't yet, maybe it's a fun way to close off the series? as like a 'special' episode or smtn. All the elements have about 10min of bts per Episode. idk, just a thought :)
Did anyone peep that the truck was in park for the hand holding scene?
I don't know who to criticise: the author or the adaptor but this whole cave plot feels unreal to me. I think this was the thought process: - This is Fire element - Fire story is built on mines - There should be a heroic/romantic drama scene in a mine/cave - How do we place Kaphao and Fai in suck a scene where Fai ends up saving Kaphao The stitching of this into the flow of events is so poor. Aunt decides to ridicule the girl by making her organize a field trip into a mine of all places? They'll laugh at her? Belittle her? Treat her bad? Blackmail her? Why? Just... Why? The premise she chose is stupid (unlike her making Kaphao handling the large garden as a punishment) I guess they thought the cave idea would be fitting but they could not find a way to properly embed it in the story. While we get a good history for Kaphao's dad, I am not holding my breath for a satisfying explanation for the aunt's background or mindset. She is evil without a real reason since every story needs a villain.
I had to replay the intro because they started playing Noeyâs song! And reading the lyrics so cute đ„č tbh minus the bowl cut lady I loved all their moments in this ep đ
I really hope the next episode plays out like the book because it has my favorite moments between the two. The series is playing more into the auntâs friendâs daughter more than the book. In the book, the aunt keeps trying to set Fai up with several blind dates and Fai keeps cutting the dates short to see Kaphrao. I donât remember too well but I donât recall - I might be wrong - but the aunt and her groupies didnât trap Kaphrao in the cave. The aunt is despicable in the book and she does something that just completely makes me hate her character. Also, Fire is the slowest burn out of the four cousins. Unless they change parts in the last few episodes, Fire has little to no physical romance in the book unlike her older cousinsâ stories.
#1, ya'll are the best reactors but watch one more that are pretty good and the talk about each book. They did Fire this past week and Panee is explained a lot. I know ya'll dont like spoilers so I wont say but maybe find a site that does have the books and you can get answers. Yes Meesh, Panee is totally unhinged. I scream at my phone
I finally figured out where the music playing when Fai and Kaphrao are alone is from The Secret of Us. Been driving me bats
I know M&D skipped over it, but the theme song over the opening credits being different was interesting. I mean its been a long time since Earth but have they changed the opening song before? I like the theme songs for all the series (Air being my favorite) so I feel I would've noticed a change in the others, but I think this is the first time. If it isn't, cant recall. I wonder what prompted the change.
I know it probably wonât happen, but I hope they do a special episode with all the cousins and their wives. Something just fun and not any drama. I want an epilogue with everyone together. There was some kind of follow up book to the four main ones, right?
Yes there is! MEB has the official translation. It's a book about the couples and their kids :) I don't remember their family name, but that's what the book is called xd. but if u just search 4 elements it will pop up :)
What if Kaphrao is afraid of dark small places because of when she got locked up in that truck and almost died as a child so she developed a phobia + ptsd? đ„șđ„ș
Good catch!
All hospitals should take a page from this Thai hospitalâs bedding. Come on ⊠those sheets, comforter and pillows are way better than many 5* hotels. Thatâs some fancy shit. I found the whole Auntie cave stuff kinda goofy. Iâm still baffled at why this person has so much control. As Meesh said sheâs unhinged. I will give it to the actor who plays this character props âbecause everyone just wants her and her hair gone somewhere where she can get the help she desperately needs.
I think we can all agree that the aunt is bat sh#t crazy. But again, i think there is jealousy involved, but not for anyone involved with Fia, but for anyone and the dad. She keeps on insisting that the dad is a womanizer.
This is weirdly panning out to be my favorite of the four series right after earth lolâŠlike itâs so unpredictable and I reaaally love their cute momentsâŠI hope they get another series theyâre very good actresses with peak chemistry
Aunt Paneer is a cancer
At this stage, I donât care if itâs a mental illness, what those 3 women did to Kaprao was unforgivable. The aunt is one of the worst relatives in Thai GL. I am also so confused as to why she even lives there on the property. She doesnât seem to do anything for the businesses.
She's up there as worst GL relatives. The parents in Poisonous Love were horrible, Ladas Dad and brother, the Mom currently on(the basically unwatchable)In Love Forever. Sam's grandma in Gap. But yea this Aunt is up there as pretty villainous. What she has done to Phrao but honestly the manipulation she did to Fai all her life to make Fai hate Phrao and not believe in love. Horrible.
Dee it's not the bats and guano that you need to worry about when caving, bats will pretty much leave you alone, it's the build up of gases if the ventilation gets sealed, which is what got Fai and Kaphrao sent to the hospital. (Probably methane or carbon dioxide since they didn't smell it). I used to go spelunking and rappelling in caves in my younger years. So much fun if your with a nice safe group lead by an expert. I'm curious to see the behind the scenes of this episode because the cave look real, but it was one of the most lit up and dry caves I've ever scene and it looked like natural light. But maybe that's common for caves in Thailand. I'm sure the ones I'm used to in PA and WV are very different. Also Meesh cracked me up calling the US hospital beds crunchy because that is 100% accurate. Plastic covering the pillows and mattresses on those Hill-Rom beds with poor fitting white cotton/polyester sheets, that literally make a crackling noise every time the patient moves. I can vouch that's an accurate description. I bet you couldn't wipe down those beds Fai and Kaphrao were in with santi-wipes. đ Thanks for the reaction. Only two more to go and it will be the end of 4 Elements!
I see the rescue team in front of the cave entrance and all I can think about is Cranium đđđ
Not gonna lie, not my favorite episode of the series so far. It had great moments, like Fai rescuing Phrao, the hand hold, (finally) the reveal to everhone of why Ak is so indebted to Phraos Dad and the Fai/Phrao scene in the hospital. But the cave stuff was too much with the aunt and the other people, and even before the cave scene all the back and forth about going to the cave and how dangerous it was. I mean you knew something bad was gonna happen in that cave from a continent away. Honestly the increase of screen time of the aunt was too much in general. We get it. Don't take away screen time from the girls. Especially with now 2 episodes left. Honestly, the traitors and attempted kidnappers in Air were less annoying than this aunt. The haircut is not a good choice but the actions is what puts her over the top. Episode 7 is what will dictate if Episode 8 is as successful as Earth. Earth got rid of all the nonsense in Episode 7 to focus on Din and Rose in Epi 8. Air did that too, but there was still almost 40 minutes of back and forth before Lom and Blew got together in the finale. Water's Episode 7 was not good and thats why the finale had to be like 2 hours. I am hoping for better for Fire since Fire and Earth are most closely aligned.
Everyone keeps saying he's a good dad but I actually kinda disagree. I think he's a good person but he was in fact a bad father. Fai's aunt had to raise her bc he basically neglected her after her mom died. Thats not being a good dad. He also never shown Fai the same care or affection hes shown Kaphrao (yes I know bc of her dad but Fai is still his child and should also show it towards her). Like during the cave incident he seemed more concerned abt Kaphrao then Fai. Aunt Panee is indirectly also putting his duaghter at risk. Like i said I think he's a good guy and has been a great guardian to Kaphrao but he has a bad father to Fai, him not being that was part of the reason they became estranged theb Panee added onto it when Kaphrao came into the photo. I think both can be true. On another note the aunt is literally insane like idk how you can be such a cruel person, I hope they dont do the typical GL parents/family memeber redemption arc
I agree; Wanna says correctly that he really struggles to express himself. It's almost like he goes through situations without explaining to anyone based off information only he knows and then is confused and upset when people react differently than he expects because they don't know the context. I think he could be a good dad, but he really needs to actually have a conversation with Fai to clear up any misunderstandings with her.
Not Panee almost doing a Ging đđ
The Fire is my favorite novel, but they changed so much. I still like it but they put so many things that are making the slow burn even more slow. I think this cave thing don't even happened on the book.
It's as if the original screenwriter wrote 10 episodes and then right before they started filming they found out they are only getting 8 and kept the same pacing. Like if this was Episode 6 of 10 then no biggie. But 6 of 8 and they haven't even said they liked each other(at least consciously yet) is pretty damn slow. Earth was the best pacing with their relationship. Air and Water ultimately gave us everything we would want but only getting it for 1 episode after waiting 7 weeks is a tough pill to swallow.
Episode 6 starts as Kaphrao is getting ready to bike to work, but Fai arrives, telling her that she needs to go to Bangkok with Akanee, so she wonât be able to take her out this weekend. Kaphrao is surprised that she came there just to tell her that, but she claims she didnât want her to wait. Kaphrao finds it weird that she is suddenly being nice. Fai points out that Kaphrao hated it when she was mean, and now, sheâs complaining when sheâs being nice; she points out that she is what she is and asks her if she isnât used to it yet. Kaphrao claims that she is, and thatâs why itâs feeling so weird when sheâs being this nice. Fai claims that if she finally decides to be nice to her, itâs her who is in trouble, as she steps closer to her, because the silly gremlin wonât be able to resist it. This obvious attempt at flirting ends as Fai needs to go, telling her not to forget to come to the main house to see her and father off â then, she changes her mind and tells her to just come with her now and picks up her bike, telling her to wait in the car. Kaphrao is confused, but happy. At the main house, Kaphrao wishes a safe trip to Akanee as Yod is packing their suitcases in the car. Akanee leaves his business in her hands, with Kaphrao telling him not to worry, and Fai telling her not to try and take over everything. Akanee tells Yod to look after the mine, and not to push the plan to explore the cave if itâs too dangerous. They say goodbye, and Fai waves at Kaphrao before she gets into the car. Later, she bikes to work and meets Wanna on the way whose groceries have fallen off her bike. She helps her picking them back up, introducing herself as Kaphrao and learning that she is Wanna, Akaneeâs wife. She is happy to meet her and bikes over to her house to bring the groceries in. Inside, Wanna offers her some fruits and asks if she needs to rush back to work, but Kaphrao claims her boss is out of town today, allowing her to chill out all she wants. Wanna asks if she means Fai, and claims that Akanee told her that her and Fai often fight. She asks if itâs getting better now, and Kaphrao isnât sure whether itâs getting better, or sheâs just getting used to it. Wanna feels sorry for Fai, though, claiming her mother died before she was one year old, and Panee took her in after that, so Fai and Akanee have become estranged. She argues that Akanee became more popular as she grew up, with many girls lining up for him, so she misunderstood him and saw him as a womanizer, and think her father doesnât care for her. But Akanee actually loves her very dearly, she claims, but argues that men donât know how to show it. She claims that she is talking too much and claims she can tell her if there is anything she needs help for. Kaphrao thanks her for the offer. At Panee house, Jee claims that Fai lied about having urgent matters when she ditched her, as her friend saw her at the water park with another girl. She asks Panee if she has someone she likes already. Panee thinks her friend might be mistaken, but Jee claims she sent her a picture of Fai and the girl, and she shows the picture of Fai and Kaphrao at the water park to Panee, who learnt that itâs Kaphrao she was with, with her maid Paen adding that she saw them coming home together the other day, and the that workers are talking about Fai and Kaphrao spending a lot of time together. Panee is alarmed, and Jee claims she has to do something. Bua finds Kaphrao working on her day off and calls her out for it, but Kaphrao claims she has nothing else to do and itâs so boring. Bua teases her about missing Fai, but Kaphrao calls it nonsense, she is actually relieved that no one is bothering her and calls it chill, just as Paen comes over telling her Panee wants to see her right now. Bua doesnât trust Panee and wonders why she wants to see Kaphrao. Panee needs Kaphrao to do something for her, as she wants to take Jinda and Jee to see the cave in the mine that was recently discovered. Kaphrao points out that the workers had barely time to explore it, and proposes to wait for the officials to explore it first, arguing that it might be too dangerous. But Panee claims that Akanee wants to make it a tourist attraction and wants to go there anyway, and she must take them there â tomorrow. Kaphrao argues that she needs time to prepare the place and make sure itâs safe, and is afraid that she wonât get everything done by the next day, but Panee insists on going there the next day and claims she must do as she says, and better not make any mistakes. Jee later complains that they have to go to that stupid cave, claiming that itâs dark, musky and extremely hot in there, but Paen points out that Kaphrao is scared of dark and narrow spaces, and Panee wants her make her hate it here so she leaves this place herself. Jee agrees to help Panee. Meanwhile, Kaphrao reports Paneeâs plans to Yod, he argues that itâs safe to go in yet and claims that although Akanee wants to make it a tourist attraction, the officials need to approve its safety first. He proposes to take them somewhere else instead, but Kaphrao claims that Panee insists on going there, so she has to do it. Yod informs Wanna about Paneeâs plans, and they argue about what to do now with Akanee and Fai being out of reach. Yod wants Wanna to talk Panee out of her plans, and she claims that Panee can barely stand the sight of her, but agrees to try anyway. Panee reacts hostilely to Wanna coming to her house, and claims itâs none of her concern where she takes her fiends to. Wanna claims to be worried about everyoneâs safety, but she calls her a lowly mistress that Akanee has been keeping at the back of the farm, and tells her not to mess with her business, she should better know her place. (This went about as well as could be expected⊠đ) She reports her failure to Yod and claims there is nothing they can do but look out for Kaphrao. The next day, Kaphrao takes Penee, Jinda and Jee to the mine to meet Yod there, the tells them about the cave which is a natural cave that was found during tunnel excavation and is considered a medium-sized cave. From what the worker have explored so far, the inside is quite big and naturally divided into many rooms. But Jee claims that itâs hot and dusty, Jinda wants to get some iced coffee, with Kaphrao arguing that they donât have that there, but Panee telling her to go find it then, as her friend wants it, and she shouldnât be rude. Jee orders a premium matcha from Uji town with oat milk and less sweet. Kaphrao argues that it would take hours to get them just by car, but Panee claims they can wait, and tells her to hurry up and take care of it. So Kaphrao leaves, getting the drinks, and Panee tells her to unwrap the straw for her. Kaphrao wants to go inside before it gets too dark, but Panee wants to enjoy the drinks first, and Jee needs 30 more minutes to do some touch-up and her makeup. Yod wants to take them into the cave afterwards, but Panee insists it must be Kaphrao, ignoring the fact that she has never gone into the cave before. So, she takes them into the cave with a concerned Yod looking after them. Jee wants to go further inside where itâs narrower, and Kaphrao accepts after hesitating for a moment. They proceed with caution and Panee claims there are going too slow, arguing that itâs bad for elders to have their backs bent like this, then tells her to slow down arguing that Jinda canât keep up. Kaphrao wants to take them to the interesting place as quickly as possible, but Jee â having realized that Kaphrao is struggling to make it â wants to take ten more minutes where they are to take in the moment. Back outside, they are freshening up while Kaphrao calls up the van to take them back, but it will take a moment. Then, Jee ârealizesâ that she lost her ring in the cave, and Panee wants Kaphrao to look for it because she doesnât trust the workers, and doesnât want to wait for the van, so orders Yod to take them home. Yod is worried for Kaphrao and wants to get some workers to help her, but she argues that there is some light in there, so it isnât that dark. And Yod lets her go, but asks her to make it quick and not to stay there long. She tells him not to worry and asks him to drop them off, she can get someone to take her back. Kaphrao starts to look for the a small ring (that isnât there, Iâm sure) in the big cave, and soon her claustrophobia flares up again. Meanwhile, it starts to rain outside, and soon the lights go out in the cave, and a shocked Kaphrao drops her torch as her fear of the dark consumes her. She only has her phone light left, which lights up the immediate vicinity but does not even enable her to get the torch back. She gets up slowly and calls for help, and soon thereafter a torch light approaches as Kaphrao passes out. Itâs Fai who is shocked to find her unconscious and frantically tries to wake her up again. She waits for her to wake up again, which she eventually does and is surprised to find Fai there. Fai explain that Wanna called her because she couldnât contact Akanee, and she rushed back the minute she found out what Panee did to her worried about her. Kaphrao is sorry, but Fai claims that itâs her who got her into that mess, and tells her they should get out of there, as itâs raining outside and it will become difficult to get out. They get back to the entrance, and Kaphrao thanks her for rescuing her â but at that moment, a landslide happens to block the exit. Akanee learns of the landslide that has trapped both Kaphrao and Fai inside the cave and rushes back, telling Yod to start the rescue right away. Panee also learns from Paen that a landslide had trapped Kaphrao inside the cave but is shocked that Fai is trapped as well. At the rescue site, Akanee arrives and claims he doesnât care if they dig a hole of blow it open, he has to get his daughter and niece out of there. Panne also comes running over frantically calling for Fai and wanting to run in and help her niece, but the rescue team holds her back. Akanee is angry at her, claims itâs all her fault for listening to her stupid ego and forcing Kaphrao to go in there. And now, her niece has to pay for it. Panee argues that she had no idea Fai would go in there. Meanwhile, Fai and Kaphrao are looking for another exit, with Kaphrao asking Fai if they are going to die in there, but Fai remembering there was another way out, and claiming the will definitely make it out of there. But Kaphrao slips and hurts her ankle in the process, and Fai offers to carry her on her back without further ado. Kaphrao hesitates a moment but then lets Fai do it, as she mentions another collapse will certainly make them dead. And they smile at each other while the are traversing the cave. But the other exit is blocked as well, so they have to wait for the rescue team to arrive, but Fai argues that Kaphrao is not alone, and promises to keep her safe. Later, she puts her jacket onto Kaphrao as she is freezing, and they have another moment as Kaphrao rests her head on Faiâs shoulder. Fai feigns that she just doesnât want her to die, claiming Akanee would blame her again, then opts to tell the truth as she admits that she doesnât hate it when sheâs around, she is starting to like her now. But Kaphrao has fallen unconscious, and the next morning wakes up in the hospital, with Nod at her side and asking how is she feeling. She reports that the rescue team has found Fai and her brought them there. Kaphrao immediately asks about Fai⊠âŠwho is waking up in the next room where Akanee and Panee are waiting for her, and asks immediately for Kaphrao, with Akanee claiming that she is safe and resting in the other room. Panee tells her to worry about herself first arguing that she almost died because of the girl, calling her a bloody jinx, and asking why did she follow her. Fai argues that Panne also knows that it was dangerous, so why did she tell Kaphrao to go in there? But she doesnât wait for an answer, and claims she is okay know and wants to see Kaphrao. Akanee agrees. She enters Kaphraoâs room to find Nod there caring for her, and telling her to come work with her in Bangkok, arguing she is treated horribly in Surat, and arguing they donât like her there. Kaphrao claims that she still wants to be there, but Nod promises to take good care of her if she comes with her. Kaphrao is happy for the offer, but claims she will be alright. Fai comes in and claims that Kaphrao wants to be there, that asks her how she is feeling. Kaphrao claims that she is fine. And Fai tells Nod to just leave when sheâs done and argues that Kaphrao is in good hands now. Nod says goodbye to Kaphrao, claiming that she will drop by her place later, and leaves. Fai then asks about her ankle, and Kaphrao claims itâs just sprained and that she can leave the hospital the next day. Then, Fai asks why she didnât accept her close friendâs offer and move to Bangkok to stay with her. She stutters a bit, then claims that she is worried about Akanee, argues that sheâs not leaving unless he wants her to. She get shy and pulls the blanket over her head, and Fai counts it as a win. They sate at each other before looking away, and Fai teases her for being unable to sleep with someone watching. In the evening, Akanee is visiting Wanna, who asks him what is still bothering his mind now that Kaphrao and Fai are safe. But heâs worried about Kaphrao, and Wanna argues that he should be, as this time Fai also almost get hurt, and Panee will not stop at time, she is sure. Akanee thinks itâs time to do something to protect Kaphrao⊠...so the next day, he gathers all his workers to tell them that Kaphrao is to be treated as if she was his daughter, the same as Fai, she must always be safe. And those who are rude to her, bully her, or cause her any trouble he will consider as his enemy. He claims that he not going something like the cave incident happen again, so from now on, she was to live at the main house. Kaphrao is shocked to hear it. The rumor mill is in overdrive after that. People are arguing that Kaphrao must be Akaneeâs real daughter, because why would be care so much for her otherwise. Bua tells the rumors to Kaphrao who is shocked again, arguing that last time they thought she was his mistress, and now they are saying sheâs his daughter. Bua argues that itâs possible, though and asks her directly. Kaphrao claims that she had a father, so how could she be Akaneeâs daughter, but Bua wants her not to turn down a chance to become rich so quickly, pointing out that Akanee is rich and handsome, and sheâll gain a wonderful older sister. Bua wants to be her best friend if the rumor turn out to be true. But Kaphrao claims that itâs nonsense and Akanee took her in just out of pity. Bua claims that he wouldnât be that nice to her if she was just some workerâs kid, and argues that there must be more to it than she thinks. Kaphrao sits on the beach deep in thought after that, as Nod comes over telling her she heard about the rumor while visiting the fishermanâs wharf. Kaphrao admits that she doesnât know what to do if it turns out that sheâs really Akaneeâs daughter. Nod claims she doesnât have to do anything, and no matter whose daughter she is, she is still her. But she canât imagine how Fai would feel about her, if she herself is this confused. Nod argues that she would have to accept her and try to love her as a sister. She offers to stay with her for a while if this is too much for her, but she is okay, she claims. Nod claims that Kaphrao is the most important person to her, and admits to having liked her for a long time since their school days, but being too afraid to tell her. She argues that she should tell her now, which is what she does, because she is scared that she might lose her. She promises to take care of and watch over her, and tells her she doesnât have to answer her right now, she just wants to give her a chance. She pleads with her to think about it, and tells her sheâs always there for her. And of course, Fai has witnessed this scene, but she turns around and walks away. Back home, sheâs hears people gossiping about Kaphrao being Akaneeâs secret daughter who will steal everything from Fai, and about Akanee being a player in his younger day. Fai wonders if they are really sisters, as she thinks non-sisterly about Kaphrao and remembers their time together (including the kiss when she was supposedly passed out drunk on the island!). Wanna reports the rumors going around to Akanee. Akanee claims that heâs deeply indebted to Kaphraoâs father and asks her if she believes that rumor. But Wanna argues that Panee would cause more trouble for Kaphrao if she hears about it. Bua and Kaphrao are working at the fishermanâs wharf, as Panee come over accusing Kaphrao of being a complete wreck to Faiâs life, and of stealing everything from her. She argues that she almost killed her back in the cave, and calls her a d*mn jinx, making her lie to Panee and putting her in danger. She tells her to get the hell out of Faiâs life and out of Akanee empire, but Fai interjects and tells her aunt that this is enough, and to stop talking to her life that. Panee is shocked that she still tries to defend her arguing she is going to steal everything from her, and almost got her killed. But Fai states that Kaphrao is under her care. Akanee joins the group telling Panee itâs enough, with Panee arguing that his daughter is trying to protect his mistressâs kid. But Akanee states that Kaphrao isnât his mistressâs kid, and that Panee has no right to talk to her like that. But Panee wants to know who she is and why did he tell her to move into the main house. And Akanee claims that sheâs the daughter of someone he is indebted to, as her father saved his life. And we get a longer flashback of the story from episode 1 where someone tried to assassinate Akanee; he fled with Kaphraoâs father into the woods and shot one assassin, but Kaphraoâs father ran over to cover him from a second assassin, getting shot three times in the process and dying. His dying wish was for Akanee to take care of his daughter for him. He argues that her father saved him so many time from those thugs who were after him, but in the end died because of him. Fai looks at Kaphrao who is welling up as Akanee claims her father sacrificed his life for him. But Panee doesnât believe him and calls Kaphraoâs father stupid which gets Akanee angry and orders everyone to never talk about this again. Panee calls Kaphrao a nasty bitch, a good-for-nothing who ruins Faiâs life, but Fai holds her back as sheâs trying to assault Kaphrao and Fai and Yod are having trouble keeping her from attacking Kaphrao. Fai decides to run away with Kaphrao. Fai and Kaphrao are driving away, with Fai holding her hand and Kaphrao being numb at all that has happened this morning. They later stop at a cafĂ©, and Fai talks to Akanee claiming the Kaphrao still hasnât said anything, and she will take her somewhere to get their heads straight first, out of the way of Panee. Akanee agrees with that, finding it better for things to die down before returning and telling her to look after her. She returns to Kaphrao giving her a drink, and Kaphrao talks claiming that she always believed her father died in an accident, now she knows why Akanee is so nice to her. Fai asks whether she is mad at Akanee, but Kaphrao claims she doesnât blame him, and she is proud of what her father did. But Fai is sorry and claims Kaphraoâs father did all he could to protect Akanee, But she still let Panee hurt her, she couldnât protect her at all. Kaphrao claims that she did protect her that day, and thanks her for it. Then, Kaphrao wants to know where they are going, and Fai claims there are going somewhere to take refuge, somewhere away from all this madness, until things get better. And thatâd where this episode ends. ____ A lot has happened, and almost nothing came out of the novel without significant changes. That Nod would be a proper love rival for Fai â and arguably the better choice for Kaphrao â we already saw last week. But this time, Panee upped her game and exchanged a dinner party where she treated Kaphrao horribly in the novel with leaving her in a cave to fend for herself â and almost got Fai killed in the process. They also invented a backstory for Kaphraoâs father who is the dies protecting Akanee which perfectly explains why he treats her as a daughter. And Fai is now desperately trying to keep Kaphrao close without revealing her true feelings â which are by the way requited, as she should see when Kaphrao smiles at her â but Fai is even worse at romance than Din and Nam, having no experience with it. So we shall see what their time together away from Surat will bring, as we go into the final stretch of the âFour elementsâ. Two weeks to go! đ
This Mushroom head auntie needs some serious slap left and right..
What is the deal with Aunt Panee? I know nothing about this story, but my current theory is that Panee lost a child before taking Fai under her wing, so she's ultra-mega-protective of Fai while also feeling that entitlement. I loved M&D's theory that Panee is Fai's mom's sister, which would explain why Ak doesn't kick her to the curb. Panee is one of his last links to his departed wife. Drama ahead, everyone!
i agree about the aunt thing, but overall really loving the pacing and the writting of the show.
