The show's writing is so spot on. I noticed in this episode/series more than others that M&D have covered that they react to something, say what they think the character should say, and then right away the character says it, almost immediatley. What that is saying is that the show did an amazing job of really knowing how to write these characters. Maybe that has to do with the characters being a little bit older so they express themselves better, but any way it happens it's just perfectly done. Lal is an amazing character, perfectly acted by Jan, Wine is complicated but still so beautifully crafted, again perfectly acted by JingJing, and the other characters that Kapook(Tangkwa) and Cize(Proud) play are also written so well. There are many GLs that have secondary couples, but they aren't written as straight forward and with as much care as Tangkwa and Proud. I love this show. I am so happy for JanJingJing and KapookCize's popularity and success, it just means more opportunties to see them together, and hopefully with the same writing crew as this one.
See Im too gay and childish to watch this with you twoā¦the second she said Itās āTouch Operatedā I made Deeās duck lips š and Meeshās *Thatās what she said* eyeballs š Literally at the same time yāall did Lolzz š¤”
We are all 'too gay and childish' when we watch MD's reactions regardless of our age or sexual preference ššš
Imagine my shock when I heard my casual FWB / FB question was addressed on this episode's reaction!!! I was floored!!! MD, you ladies are crazy and now I truly believe you do read all the comments (even though you rarely add replies and/or likes) Unfortunately, I could not buy your explanation of FWB and FB (let me use FuBu from now on - I feel like I am mentioning FreenBecky when I use FB ššš) being identical. Or maybe the usage has changed in time, like we never had a word 'situationship' in our teenage years. It's new, perhaps about 10 years old. I guess FWB / FuBu can be different in a lesbian relationship since most of the time, sex brings on feelings more than F/M or M/M entanglements. (IMHO) Let me ask you this then... What is the relationship of two long term class mates when they hook up and continue to hang out and hook up at the same time (together and with other class mates)? You might say if friendship-like feelings involved, it could have a potential to become a relationship. True... However, relationship means having a path, end goals such as dating, putting a label, moving in together, parents, plans of the future... FWB does not have issues/'benefits' of "Honey, my mom invited us to dinner" or one party considered as 'being with Plus one' at functions... It's light, fun and casual... As for the episode... It is super heavy and well-written, portrayed. Kudos to everyone involved in production. I also spotted a severely missed opportunity when Wine decides to let go in style. The 'make over' opportunity was missed! They should have styled her like a 'sexy librarian' at the beginning with thick frames and her hair made as a bun. Now the change would have been cinematic then.
A relationship is a relationship (pretty much all of the things being said and done btw Lal and Wine since Ep 2 lmao) Then thereās a limbo stage in btw a relationship and FWB which can be labeled āTalkingā or āDatingā (depending on ur age lol) which is usually when 2 ppl like each other and also having consensual sex with a mutual understanding that both parties are open to having a relationship in the future if thatās where it leads them to. āFWBā or āF*ck Buddyā is when 2 ppl who are attracted to each other/trust each other and find comfort in having casual sex with each other. A āsituationshipā that normally starts with mutually agreed upon conditions such asā friends who strictly have sex together, with NO strings attached or relationship behavior/expectations. Itās supposed to be an easy, light, and fun experience (until itās not and inevitably becomes a complicated, chaotic mess haha) šš¼ šš¼ šš¼ šš¼ Iām not saying these are the definitive definitions ofcā¦Iām just trying to explain what these terms mean to me and the ppl in my friend group. Just like most things tho..everyone has their own definitions, boundaries, and expectations for themselves and the people they choose to be with. Whatever works for you and that person is all that truly matters.
No matter how many time to see this Khorndog, my anger is never calm down š
Yea, he sucks. But good villian. There is nothing redeemable about him. You hate villians but it gives the other characters so much to work with. I mean could I do without him, sure, but without him being a scumbag, we wouldn't have had that super-hero moment when Lal showed up at the bar and that look they gave each other at the end with Wine telling Lal everything with just her eyes and the hand hold behind the chair. I mean the last 2 minutes of the episode is perfectly acted by all the actors involved.
For me, āfuck buddiesā and āfriends with benefitsā are two different things. The first is purely about sex. You don't really have anything in common, you only see each other to blow off some steam, and there's nothing else that connects you. Friends with benefits, on the other hand, is completely different. It's when you genuinely get along, enjoy each other's company, sometimes spend time together, and even ask each other for advice about things. You're friends, basically. You just happen to sleep together sometimes too. Sometimes it happens spontaneously, but you don't make a big deal out of it and simply continue interacting the way you always have. It's basically when you like someone as a person, and sex with them is just a nice bonus. You don't have romantic feelings for each other, but you genuinely enjoy having that person in your life.
Yeah... Like you do not buy them flowers or cook romantic dinners for your FWB partner but you do go to cinema with them or order take away.
I get thinking FWB means being actual friends who have sex; as someone who can be a bit too literal, i started out thinking that way too š But i guess ultimately if you hang together, eat together, go places or events together, and you're ALSO sleeping together, how is that different from a romantic relationship? So now i figure that the term "friends with benefits" is just supposed to be the polite way of saying "i'm regularly fucking this person who i don't know that well" š
Need more convincing... I still believe FWB and FuBu are different terms - not identical where one of them has a nicer, more polite ring āŗļø
This episode is so masterfully written! It shows that despite having some hurdles to navigate Wine can be just as much of a green flag as Lal...I also love the way these two characters model such beautiful communication (albeit it takes a bit of time to get there) I love that when Wine is telling her story, Lal just listens until Wine finishes... so beautiful. I also love that they included a shot of Lal watching Wine wow everyone with her new look...no jealousy just happiness watching Wine step into her power (even though its a painfully short moment). When Jan was reacting to that final scene she remarked how she looked like a drowned rat (taking a motorcycle in a downpour will do that)..or something else to that effect...for me, no knight in shining armor has ever looked better.
AAWWWWWW so many sweet moments š„¹ !!! (Except for Korn) The cute moment in the office, when Lal said that everybody deserved to be loved⦠That reminded me of the actress Janhae when they were shooting a specific scene that was a little harder to play and Jingjing was feeling the pressure, but Jan comforted her by saying that if it took 100 takes, then she would do 100 takes with her and that she doesnāt need to worry. š„¹ š„¹ š„¹ š„¹ š„¹ š„¹ š„¹ Talk about an amazing acting partner !! š Seems like Jan and Lal are really similar too ! āŗļø
Episode 7 starts with Lal and Wine back at home, but Lal is burning up after the company outing. Wine gives her medicine and sponge bath and argues ā while wearing a mask ā that Lal is sick because of taking off her shirt during the competition. Wine argues that her fever is high because the wet towel got warm really soon, but Lal just cuddles into Wine and asks her if she can stay a little while this way. After the credits, we switch to the office, where Proud is fighting with the printer. Tangkwa comes in as well, but turns into wall as she wants to leave again, but she claims that sheās fine, claims the machine is touch-operated and gives the printer a few punches to get it working again. Proud wants to talk about their night, but Tangkwa claims it was nothing as she was probably drunk ā which Proud denies ā then theorizes that she thought Tangkwa was Wine ā but Proud also denies it. But she doesnāt get to tell her what really happened as Wine comes in and tells them that Lal took the day off, so the weekās report might be a little late ā but Tangkwa claims she already sent it. Wine get a text from Lal claiming that she uploaded the report to the server, and sent over customer refund documents. Wine texts her back privately scolding her for working while sick, but Lal claims her work has piled up as it is. Wine vows she will deal with her later if she replies to work messages again. But Lal texts back that she misses he, which gets Wine to smile. Proud reports that she found the document that Wine was looking for, so she follows her and doesnāt reply back, so Lal is alone and sad at home. Later, she wakes up as there is smoke in her apartment; she rushes to find a pot with porridge on the stove, she quickly put it to the side as Wine comes rushing in for the bathroom wearing only a towel. Lal later tries to clear the pot as Wine claims that she didnāt know how long the porridge should cook. Lal jokes that forever is clearly too long, but fails to clean the pot because the handle falls off. Wine is sorry and wants to buy her a new one, but Lal claims it was an old pot, anyway. And Wine laments she really canāt take care of anyone. This conversation is interrupted by a phone call from a client ā June ā who wants to get the goods earlier that expected because her boss is flying tonight and needs the good now. And Lal promises her to deliver them herself. She calls Numnim to check that everything is there, then wants to drive to the company as all the delivery riders have already gone home, but Wine doesnāt let her and will drive her herself. June complains as the goods are delivered why this took so long arguing she almost missed the flight, and Lal claims that the warehouse was locked and she had to wait for someone to unlock it. June wants to know why she didnāt handle it sooner, then ā and Wine claims it because she phoned her last-minute but Lal apologizes for being on sick leave, so it took her longer to coordinate everything, but June tells her being sick is no excuse, and if her boss and herself had missed the flight, how would she have taken responsibility, and drives away angry. Wine scolds her for not telling her that itās after working hours, and she claims that June just canāt boos her around like that. But Lal claims what can she do and argues itās her client. Back at home, she tells her mother that sheās doing fine and even agrees to help out with her little sisterās tuition. Wine hands her more medicine, then asks her why she lied to her mother that sheās fine when sheās sick, as she lied to her client. She argues that Lal tells everyone that sheās okay even if sheās not, and wants to know if she get tired of always putting on a smile in front of everyone. She claims itās nothing, but Wine argues that her health, her happiness and her peace of mind arenāt just ānothing,ā they are just as important as everyone elseās happiness. But Lal doesnāt want people to worry about her, and she wants to be someone they can rely on and not to become a burden. Wine takes her hand and tells her she already does an amazing job taking care of their family, her team and her clients ā but reminds her that even capable people get tired. She tells her that she can lie to anyone she wants, but canāt lie to her, and vows to be with her through every moment, whether sheās strong or struggling. And Lal starts to cry as she falls into her arms. And Wine vows to give June a piece of her mind if she messes with her again, and asks if her company even files their tax reports properly. Lal thinks that Wine is scary. š At work, Lal is back and files all the necessary documents, but Proud claims that there were errors in previously submitted documents that need to be fixed, and Lal promises to fix them, and Wine claims she should pay closer attention to her work. Lal apologizes for it, but Wine takes the documents back and claims she will revise them herself, so that there are no more errors. And everyone from both sales and accounting is astonished at this turn of events. Tangkwa hands Numnim the receipt for June but claims she may be pretty busy, because her company is getting audited by the Revenue Department, because they have been cooking their books and didnāt report all the income. Bas thought the company way acting shady but wants to know who reported them. Wine just looks at Lal and smiles. š As everyone has gone home for the day, Lal brings Wine some instant noodles, and argues that Wine confused Lalās staff by helping out like that. Wine claims that Lal is not fully recovered yet, and Lal claims that taking care of people and claims she is actually pretty good at it. And the noodles are her way of taking care of others, she argues. Wine hesitates, but lets Lal eventually feed her, and she returns the favor. Later, Lal is watching her work whiles smiling as sheās feeling relieved that she told everything she wanted to tell her (referencing her confession at the outing). Even though she doesnāt know her answer yet, just being with Wine already makes her really happy. Wine tells her that the reason she doesnāt want a relationship isnāt because she doesnāt feel anything, itās actually the opposite, but sheās scared that if she starts dating her, all the bad things from her past will come back ā and we get a flashback of Wine working with her male colleague Korn at her former company, who at first helped her, but later sent inappropriate texts to get closes to her and even wormed his way into her apartment and low-ley tried to assault her only being stopped by Wine grabbing a vase. She later reported him to HR, but as nothing happened and Korn claiming a misunderstanding because he is just too friendly, she eventually quit her job there, and decided to change her looks after that, in order not to be āmisunderstoodā again. She argues to Wine that she doesnāt feel safe around people, and itās not just that sheās afraid someone might harass her, she keeps wondering if people are sincere with her or if she can trust anyone at all, whether itās coworkers, subordinates, or someone who is interested in her. She never knows if they genuinely like her or have bad intentions. She claims that she has always felt she wasnāt worthy enough for anyone to love, and that being alone was safer ā that way, nobody could hurt her. But before she knew it, she had become someone who pulled away from every relationship, because she was afraid of getting hart again. Deep down, she blames herself, she has always blamed herself, and kept thinking it was her fault. But Lal claims thatās not true at all and she didnāt do anything wrong. She doesnāt need to blame herself, and has every right to feel hurt, angry or even hate him because sheās not the one at fault. The person who should feel guilty is the one who put her through all of this. And she argues how could standing up for herself ever be wrong? Wine starts crying as Lal tells her to stop blaming herself, and she tells her that sheās more than good enough, and is worthy of being loved. She argues that they all are born deserving of good love, sincere love. She tells her to stop blaming herself again, and Wine just kisses her. The next day, Wine remembers a talk that Lal gave her while they were in bed, claiming she doesnāt know how much pain she had to go through alone, but from now on, no matter what they are to each other, sheās not alone anymore. Theyāll get through this together. And Wine decides to change her looks back. She shocks Bas, Numnim and Jantra with her new look who claims she has legs for days and want to buy the skirt that she wears. Lal just smiles at this encounter. Later, she nurses Lalās lucky bamboo as Tangkwa wants to know if something good happened to her. And she claims that finally found a place that feels like home. Tangkwa fears that she is quitting, but she just admits to have met someone, who makes her feel warm and safe, and makes her want to stay by that personās side. Tangkwa translates this into getting herself a husband, but Wine wants to call them her partner. Tangkwa realizes that Wine has just admitted to dating someone. But Wine mandates silence because she is the first person she told because she trusts her. Tangkwa wants to know who is it, but all that Wine is telling her is that itās someone close to her, and she knows the person. Tangkwa now thinks itās Proud as Wine wants to talk to the person first. Tangkwa wants to talk to Wine some more, but Jantra calls all department heads to an urgent meeting immediately. Bas, Numnim, Tangkwa and Proud are standing outside and await what the meeting is all about, though Bas and Numnim seem to know more about it, and Proud offers a milk tea as a bribe, and eventually Bas tells them that the VP has been under scrutiny from HQ in Japan and the VP was missing at the outing, so the company will probably have a new VP soon. At the meeting, the boss declares that the company wants to build a management structure that is better suited to the Thai market, so they hired a VP from Thailand: Miss Nan, who then enters the room and she also introduces a new GM, Mr. Korn. Wine fears that it her former colleague and the fears are appropriate, because the same Mr. Korn comes into the meeting room as well, nodding to Wine. Wine is shellshocked as she leaves the meeting room, but Korn follows her, telling her to leave the past in the past and to start over, as he needs plenty of guidance from her in the future. Jantra then invites her to a welcome dinner for Korn, and he excuses himself claiming they will see each other at the dinner. But Wine can barely breathe and is having a panic attack. She throws up, and is trying to keep it together. Meanwhile, Lal is summoned by the new VP who argues that her department needs restructuring after the New incident and wants to have her proposal on her desk by the end of the day. She argues that the clients left because of their pricing, and once they get fed up with the competitorās after-sales service, they would come back to them, but agrees to give her the proposal she wants. Wine brought her juniors Tangkwa and Proud along for the welcome dinner, and all join Jantra, Korn and Medsai, and Jantra reports that the other department are caught up with urgent work. And Korn claims to have worked previously in the same company as Wine, and heās actually pretty proud to have someone he trained now as a department head. But Wine doesnāt look that proud. They cheer, and Wine just pretends to drink as usual. Lal is still at the office and Numnim forget to tell her about the dinner tonight, but Lal has extra work to handle anyway. Numnim and Bas are talking about the new GM and VP, and argue their profiles are impressive as theyāve only worked for major companies. She look at the profile of Korn and finds a company whose name sounds familiar, and Numnim argues thatās the company that Wine worked for before. Lal fears that heās the guy Wine told her about and texts her then decides to go to the dinner. Korn detects that Wine is partaking in the drinking and forces her to take a drink to cheer for him, but Proud switches the drinks with one containing only water. Tangkwa looks at Proud cozying up to Wine and excuses herself to the restroom. Proud follows her, and Jantra also leaves. Outside, Proud goes to Tangkwa asking what is wrong. And she claims that she knows how she feels about Wine, and asks her if itās fun to kiss Tangkwa and play with her feelings like that, arguing that she came to work here because of Wine so why did she kiss her? Did she think she was easy so she could just do whatever she wanted with her? But Proud holds her back and asks her if she did like Wine then why would she kiss her. Tangkwa doesnāt know, and Proud just kisses her again, telling her to figure it out already. Tangkwa initially pushes her back, but then returns the kiss. Numnim is missing another bubble tea again, and Bas tells her to just stick an AirTag to it ā but then realizes there is a CCTV camera covering the fridge, and they go to security to sift through the footage, but Numnin doesnāt know when the tea disappeared. Bas just wants to check all the cameras and time periods at once (Iām not sure how this worksā¦) and gets to the CCTV computer, but Bas selects the accounting departmentās camera by accident, and they see their boss kissing Wine. At the dinner, Medsai also excuses herself taking a call, and Wine is now alone with Korn, who takes place besides her, and asks her why she looking like that and if she isnāt happy to see him again. But he gets closer and takes her in his arm, as he repeats his claim that whatever happened in the past should stay in the past, and she needs to learn that if she keeps doing things the same way, what does she think will happen. At this point Lal has arrived and makes herself knows loudly. She looks disheveled as she got into the rain, but Wine is glad to see her, and Lal claims thereās no way she would miss a chance to meet Korn, asks Wine to sit next to her and claims to have something to show her on her phone. And as they pretend to look at her phone, their hands find each other behind their chairs. And thatās where the episode ends. _____ This was an emotional episode as we dealt with Wineās deep-seated trauma, but she was ready to properly date Lal before Korn showed up. Lal and Wine dealt with the trauma like a couple, not like FWB or even enemies ā the title of the show continues to be the biggest misnomer of all time, even the original title āLal doesnāt like Wineā ā while also wrong ā is better. š The questions: what will Bas and Numnim do now that they know and Lal and Wine are having a secret relationship, how will the company react that is now under new management and will Wine still dare to date Lal? I think the drama will continue some more ā but I liked this episode very much as the series is turning out to be one of the best of the year.
Please donāt call that trashy guy pākorn , itās only reserved to « orm kornnaphatĀ Ā» š
"Korn" is a fantastic musical act that was famous way before Orm
Yup. Did *not* miss seeing this jerk's face and grabby hands. So excited to see y'all react to the last few episodes šāØļøāØļø
KapookCiize do need their own show! This is the fourth time theyāve worked together I think. They joked about it in an interview. Didnāt end up together in Pluto, Kapook dies the second time and then Ciize does the next lol.
This episode was doubly traumatizing for me when I first watched it. First of all, after going through a management restructuring that changed my dream job into my worst nightmare and resulted me losing the job, all those old feelings of rage and frustration came back watching the girls go through the same thing. And on top of that, I despise Korn. I can't describe how much I hate the character. I think the writing and portrayal of Korn are excellent and he brings yet more dramatic energy to the show, but he's at the top of my villain list. He makes me cringe and shy away every time he's on the screen. There's a bright spot, though, and that's Meesh & Dee's reaction and commentary. You ladies always make me smile or share a cute moment that has me feeling extra single, respectfully. Thanks for all you do for us!
Sorry to hear about your experience, I do hope you are at a better job, at a better office with better colleagues/bosses... Work life can be scary, especially because of people like Korn. I was made uncomfortable once by an exec who worked in my client company. Thank God it was just an attempt. Later on, all was 'forgotten' - perhaps it really was because of the booze. I love the moments when MD catches on like when Wine talked about her special person or when the new GM turned out to be the creep or when the office cameras show the kiss...
My though between FWB and FuBu, is that FWB yāall are actually friends and hang out even outside of the sexual stuff. A friend that you also happen to have sex with sometimes. The sex may be planned or spontaneous, but the sex is not the central purpose of your relationship. Friendship is the main course, sex is an occasional side dish. While FuBu are just using each other for sexual release but donāt actually get together otherwise, the relationship is sex. You may or may not do things other than sex together, but with a FuBu the sex is the main course. Another great RV this is my favorite epi everytime i watch this epi it makes me cryš Are you tired hit so different.thank you so much M and D
Thank you - I am 100% with you on the terminology ššš I loved the main course and side dish analogy - I could not have explained it better myself
"Your legs are longer than my future" remains a bar

Yesss, we here š Dee noticing the printer because at this point, the fandom has collectively decided the printer is basically its own character š
