SuiREN (pronounced souy ren) is the old lady that serves jinshi. SuiREY (pronounced suuii ray) is the girl who pretended to die and disappeared. some characters in chinese may be used in different words, and they'll sound slightly differently in names or mean different things in words) like homophones, or sometimes as heteronyms. As someone learning japanese kanji derived from chinese words... it's been a PAIN for me o.O
