The fact that I clocked Meesh was flirting with Dee but Dee didn’t is so funny!!

I don't usually comment but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to drop a pun. When Meesh said Bas looks like a Targaryen, I immediately said (out loud to no one) - he's a Thaigaryen. I will now see myself back into the shadows ...

Also I think the reason it felt like there was more chemistry in this love scene verses the one in the previous episode is because there is more intimacy not necessarily more chemistry. They had their first conflict and now new understanding for eachother and therefore for a new depth for their relationship so I think this love scene was meant to showcase that. Just a thought.

The food thing really did bother me too because just like you guys said, it's not even a romance thing. Even if it was a friend that did that, I would be so upset and heartbroken. Food is so special, usually when you offer it to someone whether its bought or prepared it's truly a caring act and shows you think and care about that person.

At first I thought Wine could be in the spectrum
because she showed multiple little things that could resemble patterns of the condition. Now, it’s an opinion because I’m not an expert in asperger syndrome, but her genius at work, her need for order, her feeling extremely uncomfortable out of her routine and the lack of understanding of other’s feelings (not on purpose)
They all seem to fit. Buuuuutt đŸ€Ł I don’t think she is ! At times she really can read the room, but often she forgets her filter at home ! I guess I’m trying to justify the food incident lol !!!!!!

K
Kelli Conklin · August 6, 2026

I do not think throwing the food away is in and of itself indicative of someones whole character. Yes it was inconsiderate and unkind. However, someone's whole character isnt determined by their biggest mistake its determined by intentions, patterns, the willingness to own their mistakes and the willingness to repair when conflict arises etc. What Wine did was inexcusable but the fact that she is willing to own her mistake through acknowledging what she did and how it hurt Lal is no small thing. She also says she wants to learn to be with someone and is willing to learn to be better that says alot about her character as well.

I may have a very different perspective on Wine’s character here. I think Jingjing portrayed Wine really well. Wine is someone who carries deep past trauma (no spoilers—you’ll get there), which is why she keeps her walls up. Throwing away the lunchbox was definitely careless of her, but at the same time, Lal’s words made her feel threatened. From Wine’s perspective, it was more out of fear than malice. Trauma can make people react defensively, even when it doesn’t seem logical to others. 😅 Anyways, thank you guys for another great reaction, as always! ❀

Although I loved this episode, maybe my favorite, my favorite part of the recap was Meesh cracking up when Dee couldn't hear the words, and Meesh asking her if she speaks Thai now, and Dee's response of it being too loud to read. That whole part cracked me up. I guess I never noticed the waves because I was reading more than listening. But the whole thing reminded me that I do notice sometimes that I raise the volume or go back and rewind something because I missed the dialouge sometimes on these GL Thai shows and after I do it I often realize that I don't really need to hear them because I am reading and wouldn't understand it at all without the subtitles. :) I am just so used to these GL shows now that although the show could literally be on mute I now have to hear their words, and sometimes even get frustrated if the words don't match up with their voices, again, not like it matters. Very funny that I never really thought about it much until you guys were having trouble with the waves. This episode was one of the most perfect episodes of the entire series. Just the comedy right off the bat with Lal's friend and then the activities at the retreat, then the drama of the lunchbox getting thrown away and their argument, then of course the romance between both couples and then the beautiful courage that Lal had to tell Wine how she felt. Just a nearly perfect episode. If anyone asked me which episode to watch if they wanted to see how good this show is I would point them to this one. Thanks for the great recap!

When Tangkwa gets in bed with Proud, I believe that Proud thinks it's Wine, who is her roommate, Proud is the one who says "Wine", not Tangkwa. Who Tangkwa thinks she's cuddling with is less clear. I think it might've been mentioned that she might room with Numnim, so if she thought that was her, maybe just being drunk and cuddly? As others have said, Tangkwa seems to really respect and idolize Wine, not have a romantic interest in her.

I'd like to add my two cents. I'm from Central Asia, and Wine throwing the food Lal made for her into the trash was so, so disrespectful. I was really upset and disappointed with Wine. In our culture, it's basically like saying to someone, “I don't fvcking care about you. I hate you.” Even if Lal bought the food herself, throwing it away is extremely rude. Honestly, I didn't forgive Wine right away. I was still mad at her for two more episodes.

L
LL · August 4, 2026

I think throwing the food is disrepectfull everywhere not just in Asia, if i were lal I’d end everything with wine based on that but then there wouldn’t be a series to Watch in the first place đŸ˜…đŸ€Ł

M
MoonCorr · August 4, 2026

You girls just got to the episode that contains maybe the one thing the fandom could never forgive Wine for: the food!!! 😂 It's kind of a delicate topic, lol. Also, I don't think Tang has romantic feelings for Wine. I think she genuinely admires and respects her a lot. Oh, and about the name thing, Lal has a hard time calling her "Khun Wine." She keeps accidentally slipping and just saying "Wine" without the honorific, so she immediately corrects herself. Thanks, girls! That was another great reaction. I can't wait for the next episode!

M
MZ · August 4, 2026

I'm in the minority here, but I think Lal and Wine were equally at fault. Wine made a genuine mistake by throwing away the food. However, Lal could have communicated like an adult by saying, 'I'm hurt that you threw away the food.' Instead, she launched into a character attack—accusing Wine of not caring about people and keeping her walls up—which naturally triggered a defensive response. I'm always wary of people who conflate a single mistake with someone's entire character.

I've been meaning to make this comment since the series' reaction started. Guys, please educate me because based on what I hear from MD on various instances, the concept of FWB is used just like F buddies which I think is wrong. To me, to my understanding, FWB (unlike FB) cherishes friendship moments too. It does not mean being friendly or courtesy with the bed partner. Like, you can be BFFs, something sparks and you start sharing bedroom gymnastics. You have more caring, understanding, connection compared to FB but casting aside the relationship dynamics of dating, dealing with parents, thinking about future and heavy stuff. This type is of course bond to likely become a real relationship. I frankly don't get the comments of "you don't do this, you don't do that with your FWB" Why not? You totally would if the partner is a good, close friend first.

Neither Proud or Tangkwa have romantic feelings for Wine. Proud did have a crush on her previously but has moved past it. (This isn't a spoiler, Wine mentioned it to Lal previously) Her behavior of coming across as interested and being on the lookout of other potential people pursuing Wine is for different reasons. She alluded to that here when she said she knows what Wine has been through and doesn't want her to go through it again. She's just an overprotective friend. Tangkwa has a lot of admiration and respect for Wine. She's protective of her because she knows pretty much everyone else doesn't like Wine, so she's probably suspicious of most people and assumes they're trying to retaliate in some way towards Wine.

Another great RV thank you so much, i love the outro, i remember when this episode air people are mad same reaction with you about Wine throwing the food, yes its true as an Asian they way we show our love for someone is through food and act of service. Honestly, I don't think the lunch thing is an immigrant or Asian only thing. I know if a southerner made you food and you tossed it; it would really upset them. I think it's more of a person who took the time to cook for you thing.

I seem to recall that the company in the show calls Medsai's dept "Purchasing," at least according to the subtitles. I also love this episode, especially the tension when Janta was about to look at Lal's photos. Wine's actions regarding the food also confused me a bit, though, because I feel like Wine often shows a particular happiness when she's with Lal. That scene of Lal finding the discarded meal was good writing. On to the next eppie!

Episode 6 starts with another screwup by Numnim, who submitted the wrong figures to accounting. Lal volunteers to report this – which causes Numnim to (correctly) suspect that Lal’s in love, but Bas shuts her down for prying into her personal life, Lal runs into Proud who has come aboard by a senior accountant, which Proud thought Wine had told her – but she didn’t. After the credits, Wine runs into the shower before Lal has a chance to talk, then drops some laundry leaving the door open. And Phakphum comes in and hands Wine the cleansing water – which shocks her and she pepper sprays him with hair spray before he gets to talk. Later, Wine apologizes for the attack, but Phakphum claims it’s his fault for coming in without prior announcement, but argues that if he told Lal beforehand, he would have never found out that she was hiding a girlfriend. He was worried because she didn’t reply to his texts and thought that the crazy Wine had pulled her hair out and killed her or something, because every time all she did was complaining how toxic and insane Wine is. Lal points out that his attacker is Wine, but Phakphum doesn’t believe it at first because she told him that Wine always looks unapproachable and like a giant from a Thai folktale and is grumpy all the time, but the person opposite him looks gorgeous, he argues. He realizes that what Lal said is the truth and tries to backpedal, arguing she didn’t criticize her at all and was rather complimenting her and didn’t scold her or anything, just as Lal just wants to die. 😊 Lal thinks he has said enough, and while Wine would love to hear more about what Lal has been saying behind the back, she needs to get dressed, so she leaves the two of them alone. Lal claims to Phakphum that it’s not what he thinks, and she just moved in temporarily while her apartment is being renovated, but Phakphum thinks she acting defensive without him having asked a single question. He argues that if she’s not her friend, she must be her girlfriends, but Lal claims that not it either. Then, Phakphum remembers all the talk about friends-with-benefits and asks Lal if she was talking about Wine. Lal flip-flops, but Phakphum hasn’t believed her story that she was talking about “a friend” form the start, so Lal admits it, and Phakphum wants to know what they do together. Lal lists that they are having sex, cook together, watch movies, go to the spa and visit cafĂ©s, and Phakphum asks her if they need to hive kids and take out a mortgage together before she is calling wine her girlfriend. But Lal claims she doesn’t think of her that way. Phakphum recommends she should stick to sales, and not ever join a call center scam gang, because she can’t fool anyone but herself. But claims she serious and that Wine and her started because of passion, and there’s no way it could turn into love, but Phakphum reminds her that love starts with passion, and asks her if she really feels that way or just hasn’t realized it yet (that she’s in love). Lal thinks about it as she sits with her team in a restaurant, where Numnim complains again about her bubble tea going missing, and Bas repeating his suggestion to put laxatives in it to see who is running to the bathroom. Numnim wants to wait till after the company outing which Lal has forgotten about and doesn’t like the T-shirts that Bas has prepared for it. Numnim tells her that there is one woman without a roommate in their department, and asks her if she wants a room to herself or share one, Lal wants to know who else should she room with, and that she is sharing a room with Numnim, of course. Numnim the mentions Wine, and Lal misinterprets this as a room-sharing proposal but before she can talk herself into a hole, Numnim points out that Wine has just arrived – and so have Tangkwa and – to Lal’s displeasure –Proud. Proud claims to have audited this company two years ago, and remembers the workload being brutal, and as soon as she completed her required hours, she left. Right now, she’s working toward her CPA certification, and Wine invited her to join the company. Wine claims Proud is talented, and she sow potential in her, so she convinced her to come help them out. Bas hands Wine a drink but Proud drinks it for her and claims that Wine doesn’t do well with alcohol. Numnim argues that if she didn’t know Wine and Proud are colleagues, she would have thought that Wine brought her girlfriend to work, but Lal tells her to save her mouth for throwing up later, which gets Numnim to wonder why Lal is mad at her, but Proud argues that she heard the company doesn’t allow employees to date each other, and asks Wine if she has someone. But Tangkwa claims that Wine follows company policy to the letter. Proud argues that feelings aren’t exactly something that they can control. But Wine claims that she doesn’t want a relationship, arguing that taking care of herself is exhausting enough, and she doesn’t have time to take care of anyone else, and doesn’t believe that anyone can love her better that herself. Lal has a few thoughts about that, but doesn’t say anything. And Wine concludes her thought by claiming that every relationship she sees ends the same way: people cheat, and fall out of love, and she claims that being in a relationship to her seems to be most a burden than happiness – she’d rather be alone. Everyone drinks to Wine’s unwavering independence, but Lal needs an extra invite before she joins in. Tangkwa takes Proud aside and claims she doesn’t know why she’s trying to find fault with Wine, but she doesn’t want to hear her badmouth her again. Proud wants to know why she thinks she trying to find fault with her, but Tangkwa claims she accused her first. Proud steps closer to her and asks her if she has feelings for Wine, but Tangkwa denies it, and claims she just protective of her because she’s a boss she loves. Then, she should know that what she is doing isn’t nitpicking, she’s worried about her. She knows some of the bad things that Win has been through, and doesn’t what her to go through the same thing again. At home, Lal thinks about what Wine said about relationships as she is pickling vegetables. Wine comes over and startles her but Lal claims to have just finished the pickling and asks her if she showered which Wine confirms. Wine wants to get her portable fan from her room the next day to bring it along to the outing. Lal asks her if the rooming with Tangkwa at the outing, and Wine claims to maybe room with Proud, claiming that she knows Proud sleeps like a log as she knows because they shared a room at faculty camp. Lal proposes she should room with her, but Wine would find that suspicious. The next day, Lal prepares a lunchbox for Wine, then, she wakes her up for the company outing, but she gets distracted as she is watching her sleep and takes a few photo before she finally wakes up. She realizes that she’s late and rushes to get dressed then exits the apartment before Lal can hand her the lunchbox. Later, they are about to depart for the outing and Lal gets the good news that Proud has fallen sick and Wine is without a roommate. Lal wants to take the room, but Proud arrives having taken medication for her stomachache and is ready to participate after all. Lal recommend Proud should take her health seriously, but to no avail. At the outing, Lal hands Wine the lunchbox she forgot. That sales and team accounting are fit and ready to compete, but Numnim tells her the Sales has lost for years at this outing, so they have to reclaim their honor this year, and Lal claims if it involves physical strength, she won’t lose to anyone. The first game is chairball a where someone tries to catch a ball using a basket while standing on a chair. Tangkwa and Wine argue they are terrible at sports, and Proud still has a stomachache, so this is not looking good. But Lal is confident that they will win, because she used to be a chairball athlete – who hits Wine with the ball just as the game is starting. But Wine is okay and ties the hair after this, which gets Lal ogling at her – but she spaces out and fails to block Proud, who give the ball to Wine. Lal blocks her and eventually hugs Wine for behind, which the player all notice, and Numnim ships them. Proud proposes that Wine should be at the basket instead to get her free from Lal, and she switches places with Tangkwa. During the next play Wine falls off the chair as she is catching the ball, which cause Lal to rush to her side and catch her in her arms – but the players just notice that Wine has caught the ball and thus Accounting has won this game. Proud’s stomachache is getting worse, and Numnim and Bas wonder for which team their boss actually plays. Lal later pretends she feared that Wine could fall on Bas and hurt him, and Numnim argues they can’t lose the next game, with Bas arguing that Proud is the game changer for Accounting – she tiny but runs father than himself. They go to eat – and Lal find the lunchbox she made for Wine in the trash, uneaten. Lal asks Wine about it, but she claims the lunchbox would get people to ask where it comes from, and wants to refund it for her if the box was expensive, but Lal claims that’s not the point, and argues that she said she doesn’t think she can take good care of someone else, but maybe the real issue is that she has built her walls up so high that she’s hurting the people who genuinely want to care about her. This trigger old fears from New in Wine, and she claims she never asked her to do any of this, and if it’s something she doesn’t want to do, she shouldn’t do it. Why should she be responsible for Lal’s feelings when she never asked for them in the first place, she argues. Wine fakes an argument about work as Proud returns, and then leaves. Bas points out again that they need to win the next round or the score gap will be huge. The next game is filling a water jar by carrying the water from a source by whatever means necessary. Lal first uses her cap then pulls her shirt off and soaks it in water and wins the round with this – but also gets Wine’s attention. Afterwards, Medsai hands her a towel and is quicker than Wine, who also had a towel prepared for her. In the evening, Jantra hand out the room keys, and Lal has a room all to herself. Lal wants to tell Wine that she has a room they could sleep in, but decides against it as Wine is joking with Proud. Then Jantra announces that Accounting and Sales have gained the same highest score, and invites one player from each team to a deciding round. Lal and Proud volunteer, and decider is who has the most photos on her phone. Proud goes first and 8,777 pictures on her phone – including one selfie taken while pooping. Lal remember that she took photos of Wine sleeping this morning and wants to delete them, but Jantra takes the phone of her hands. She wants to put the phone on the USB cable – but luckily at this point the power goes off, and Lal can use the confusion till it is switched on again to delete those photos. Lal has 10,132 photos on her phone, and Team Sales wins the game. Lal getting applause while Wine can just stare at her. Tangkwa later hands Wine some pill for her stomachache, because she has noticed that she has been holding her stomach all day, and acting cheerful to cover it up, and she notices a phone of medicine on her phone earlier. Proud argues that it PMS, and that she really get bad cramps before her period, sometime so severe that she has to take time off work. She’s been treated for it before, but all they can really do is manage the symptoms. Tangkwa asks her why didn’t she skip the outing, but Proud claims she didn’t want to become an issue at her new company, and reports that at her previous company she got scolded for taking sick leave because of this, and people gossiped that she was being dramatic or not tough enough, especially the men thought that periods are just an excuse the women use. Tangkwa claims that they are still humans, and argues that there will always be people who don’t understand – but there are people who do. She praises her for her efforts that day, and tells her to take some rest. Bas, Numnim and Tangkwa are parting and drinking, and Jantra will give out a prize of THB 2,000 (ca. 60 US$) for the best dancer. Tangkwa and Bas compete, while Wine is looking for Lal. A tipsy Tangkwa runs into Wine and they switch the room keys as the drop their purses. They say goodbye as Wine wants to go to bed. But Tangkwa thinks she is not drunk, and will tell Proud when she is. Meanwhile, Lal is sitting alone at the beach, as Wine comes over to ask her why she isn’t having fun like everyone else inside. Lal claims she just wanted some time alone with her thought, and Wine wants to leave, but Lal tells her to stay – if she’s not worried that someone might see them. But Wine claims everyone is drunk and no one is paying attention. They both claim they are sorry at the same time, and Lal thinks Wine doesn’t need to apologize to her, because she crossed the line. But Wine claims she wants to apologize because she didn’t realize she made the lunchbox herself. She claims the lunch looked so good that she assumed she bought it, and that’s why she thought throwing it away wasn’t a big deal. But that’s not an excuse, and she should have been more considerate with her feelings. She argues that she never leaned how to be with someone, and people always tell her that she’s difficult to be around. But being with her is uncomfortable because she keeps her walls up, and it hurts hearing that she has made many people feel this way, and after a while, she convinced herself that being alone was easier. Lal asks if she feels uncomfortable when she’s with her, but Wine claims it’s the opposite, she feels incredibly comfortable, so comfortable that it scares her. She afraid that she will do something that makes her feel uneasy. She argues that she’s been confused the whole time, she kept wondering if she’d end up making things difficult for her, as she did for everyone else. Or if she just should end this relationship and go back to being alone. But she finally figured it out, she claims, and she wants to try with her, wants to learn how to be with someone. But Lal has to teach her, she argues, and she’s a slow learner. Bit Lal claims she’d be happy to, and at first feared she would like to cancel her exclusive FWB subscription. But of course, Wine doesn’t want to. And Lal claims she’s not the only one learning there, she wants to learn about her as well, wants to get to know her better, and asks her to let her past those walls. And they kiss – in public
and soon thereafter, they proceed to make out in Lal’s room. Tangkwa look for her room and finds the keycard (which is really Wine’s). She goes into the room and plops on “her” bed to find Proud lying there, who expected Wine – but she proceeds to kiss Tangkwa, anyway, then is sorry, but Tangkwa just kisses her back. In the morning. Lal and Wine lie together in bed arguing how to explain this to Proud. Wine doesn’t know but feels like a kid sneaking out, and she thought she could claim she got drunk and doesn’t remember anything. But Lal thinks she’s not going to believe that, and argues that Proud and her are actually close enough to tell her the truth. But Wine doesn’t even know how to bring it up. Lal offers to help but Wine claims to figure out a way to tell her herself. Wine leaves, but Lal follows her. Meanwhile, Tangkwa wakes up in Proud’s arms and quietly leaves the room while Proud wakes up alone not long thereafter. Lal runs after Wine, to ask her if they learn how to be together, does that mean they’ll end up dating? Wine claims that’s not what she meant, but Lal claims that’s what she meant. She wants to try loving her, she’s sure of how she feels now, and tells her she likes her, in a way that goes beyond sex, in a way that’s more than sneaking around like this, and she wants to be with her all the time, and take the best care of her. Wine doesn’t have to answer her right away, though, she knows that she needs time to think. She apologizes for having caught feelings. She can answer her when she’s ready, she can wait. And Lal leaves Wine alone at the beach as the episode ends. ____ Finally! Lal confessed her true feelings by the end of the episode, and their communication skills are really the best of all the GMMTV couples. While I think Lal should have scolded Win some more for throwing the lunchbox into the trash, this was certainly the better outcome. We are almost though the novel and I expect the added shenanigans – the “no dating” rule and the second couple – to play a role in the show getting to ten episodes. But this show is a delight every Sunday, and this was the best episode yet.

Lal corrected herself right in the beginning because the way she was about to phrase it was too casual, it implied a close relationship between her and Wine because she wasn't going to use an honorific. It would have been too suspicious, since they're still pretending not to like each other at work. She quickly stopped herself from just saying "I'll go and talk to Wine for you" and corrected to "I'll go and talk to *khun* Wine for you". It's a semantic thing that really only matters in Thai and other languages that use honorifics and respectful language. There's no way of really localizing it into English, so it's hard to translate without missing the point. Also, yes. Proud only started actually working at the company in the last episode, when Wine introduced Proud to Tangkwa. I know it's confusing, since she was already hanging out there all the time anyway, but it is sort of a plot point later. 😅 In terms of Wine throwing out the food; while I do completely agree with you that throwing it away is fucked up, and there's really no excuse, i'm in sort of a unique position to at least sympathize with what she's feeling. Honestly, Wine is pretty warm and open compared to me 🙃My ex used to call me Robot Girlfriend because i was too cold and practical in a similar way to Wine. My attachment style isn't just avoidant, it's like... IDK, repellant 😂. I've never really had anyone give a crap how i felt or what i wanted, and that's compounded by rejection sensitive dysphoria from ADHD and possibly autism too, so I understand how it can be impossible to get the way people with healthy emotions think and feel. You get so used to just doing everything alone and protecting yourself, if someone actually starts becoming emotionally invested in you, you don't even notice. It's really hard to understand what people want and why they get so upset, because you don't even realize that someone might actually want to be close to you just because they like you. Or if you do realize, you unconsciously try to push them away because you think they're just going to be disappointed, and then it becomes sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Luckily, Wine looks *like that*, and met a green flag like Lal who wants to stick around and help her work through it 😂 So yeah, i do think that it was fucked up, and she definitely owed Lal an apology, but i get how she got to that point.

M&D After Hours could honestly be a podcast. I love listening to them. Also, I don't think Tangkwa has romantic feelings for Wine. She already told Proud that Wine is a boss she genuinely loves, so I see it more as admiration, respect, and loyalty rather than anything romantic. Also, Wine throwing the food was absolutely nefarious. And also... also... also... Wine's smile. That goddamn smile has me in a chokehold.

I think Lal called Wine only by her name, and not with the formal Khun... title ?, that's why she corrected herself â˜ș
